If you supported issue 2, then you should really be thinking of other ways to feed the corporations. This is the only reason given for taking our money that we need for our safety and security, and giving it to foreign, below minimum wage jobs.Do you trust sending your child to a school where the caregivers can barely care for their self, let alone your child. What if the school catches fire,or a child molester breaks in and takes your baby. What do you say-"Oh Well"?
There will be no reduction in staff. There will be a reduction in how the staff are organized. You can not have a non-governmental entity lording over the most important government workers. Yes, a union is a non-governmental organization that is paid for by the workers who are a part of it, but does absolutely nothing beyond getting in the way of individuals who just want to work for the sake of their jobs.
@7335jr It won't even be close to the same. You need to do more research on this issue. Please don't go to the polls ignorant of the facts. People won't get laid off, BUT, the people retiring won't be replaced and man power will be greatly reduced meaning less people responding to the worst day of your life! It will not be a highly sought career.
NO NO NO. SB5 must stay. Us working Ohioans in the private sector are being sqeezed to pay for the FAT pay, benefits, and especially the retirement package. We in the private sector are have not been keeping up with the state workers. You need to understand that property taxes are killing us. And colemans 1/2 percent (25% in real terms) did not help either. I get NO pension. NO benefits - when I retire at age 67. NO 30 and out. NO frills. Do you State workers understand?
@BPFD057 The only people left to come into your house will be less desirables that will call their buddies to come get the TV's and other valuables left in the house that they just left. Far fetched? Maybe, but right now there are hundreds of quality people trying to get one or two positions. That won't be the case if this passes. VOTE NO ON ISSUE 2!
I'm standing with the police officers and fire fighters who keep us safe, the nurses who help us get better when we are sick and care for our loved ones, the teachers and librarians who help us find our potential and become productive members of society. NO to issue 2, for it will cost the state a POWERFUL PRICE if these worker's voices are silenced.
