There r situations where it's a very hot sunny day or u're at the gym u'd prefer wearing a t-shirt & gym pants. i never said that wearing pants is not allowed in islam - since that this has not been forbidden in either quran or hadith. Yes, it's important to act modestly but if u want ppl to have a good impression of u, consider wearing modestly - whether it includes wearing a wimple or not. Anyway - girls, how u want to wear your clothes is up to u. It's God that judge what u do in the end.

Being modern doesn't necessary mean u can wear immodestly according to ur religious code. Although the purpose of the hijab is to preserve modesty (not oppression) for a woman, I do agree that women should have a choice to wear or not to wear it but they still need to wear it in prayer as a sign of purification before God. Other prayer, a Muslim woman can be modest (in her choice of not wearing the hijab) by wearing pants or long skirts & at least a loose t-shirt (if not for the long sleeves).

That's my recommendation. However, for those who are in secular countries like Turkey, Malaysia, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco & Egypt - if they want to wear short skirts and tube tops, then it's their choice. They know they have to wear modestly and as Muslims, they are only to remind them of such rules. It's God that's going to judge the sexy-dressed women anyway.

I respect your views and you've made good points there on modesty, but what i'm trying to say is it does matter that you act modestly but if you want people to have a good impression of you, you might as well consider wearing modestly as a regular dress - u can at least wear a t-shirt & cooling lose pants or skirt - as long as it's not tight fitting or not revealing ur tummy & legs (like length being above knees). how modestly you want to wear is up to u - whether you're wearing a wimple or not.
