Few days ago i saw young mother with toddler walking in the parking lot. And when little boy saw parked dark blue C6 he was completely stunned. He was stumbling around it, touching it and showing it to his mummy.

This Car is Haute-Couture made by the French it is simply like Louis Vuitton and Cartier or Chaumet and not everybody can have things by these exclusive Manufacturerers and that's exactly what the C6 is a Car for a few lucky People with a good taste and not for ORDINARY PEOPLE.

Great review but the two niggles are not true! i have a C6 and the cigarette lighter come out with ease if you just lightly push it in, it simply pops out and driving at night on pitch black roads, the brake light doesn't block the view at all. OK, you can see some red but I didn't notice it until mentioned here and its not as bad this video makes out. All in all, its a stunning car.

Having always bought Citroens ( DS , CX , XM ) I have to admit that the C6 is a very classy car. It's appearance is subtle yet elegant and it doesn't shout " I'm a nouveau riche aggressive dysfunctional driver " . With a car such as the C6 freely available why would one ever want to follow the ' identity - challenged ' blokes to the Audi showroom ?

All the expensive parts broke down just soon after waranty ends like - turbo, transmission, .... (while development, you test how many cycles, or hours each component lasts, so it's not hard for them to make components that will break down just slightly over average time o usage or kilometers passed in 3 yrs).
Uhh? Since I'm born (I'm 22), my parents drive only french car (A Citroen BX, a Peugeot 206 and since 7 years, a Renault Megane II) and we never had problem with any mechanical parts. The only problem we had in these whole 3 cars were an electric window motor and window wahing liquid pump down, easily replaced in 30 minutes each.

The one you'd want to buy is the 240hp V6 Diesel which is about 5000 Euro more than the equivalent 5series. (Once u add options, the difference will get a bit smaller I guess)

I should also add, there's a sport button which these road testers miss, it firms up the steering and the suspension and holds the rev's on longer. It's not as stiff and back-breaking as the BMW, but it is just as powerful and delivers 208bhp in a smooth, controlled way, and the speed-sensitive spoiler certainly turns heads on the motorway!
@SuperCameronb Yes, there is the sport setting for the suspension AND a sport setting for the gearbox so you can mix and match driving styles to the conditions (there is a snow setting too!) and to how you feel. Personally I usually drive around with the normal setting on the suspension (if I wanted a hard suspension I would buy German) but the sport setting on the gearbox.Given I have the 3.0 16v petrol engine in that setting nothing beats me off the lights!A brilliant car nothing comes close
I've got a C6 which i got after having a BMW 5 series 3.0. I must say, i much prefer the C6. It is just as reliable and more luxurious. It's an amazing car, everywhere i go in it people turn and stare and it will out-pose the German equivalents any day. It's well equiped too, full of features that aren't available on the German equivalents or are expensive optional extras. It has heated seats all-round, a 10 speaker CD player system, Citroen's hydroactive suspension...
I had a citroen once. A GT thingy. really light, surprisingly fast. Great car, except that it was as flimsy as cellophane and broke down every 37 miles. Literally it was ALWAYS in the garage. As was the volvo I owned once. I can not allow myself to own a citroen or a volvo again as you can not consider them transport because they don't get you where you want to go.

@kasparpl1993 FWD is more versatile way to go & it should be mandatory that women only b sold FWD cars - if they have 2 drive at all, one thing A-rabs have got right, women can't vote or drive - problem is, they've got everything else wrong! In any event, RWD provides better dynamics in good, dry weather, FWD superior in almost all other conditions but RWD is more fun - and 911s are most fun of all.

@vince33x Yes this may be true but Audi is also a Premium Make and the new A8 entrymodel comes also with FWD, or the A6 comes also with FWD in the baseversion so I think there should be no matter about this.
@vince33x Yes that's right. I don't know if you get the A8 with diesel engines in the US, but here in Europe you get the 3.0 TDi quattro with 250 hp and the 4.2 TDi quattro with 350hp and you get the baseversion : the 3.0 TDi with 204hp and FWD.

@galbmw Yeah the depreciation comes with every car. And the more expensive they get the cheaper they are when u try to sell them. That happens with mnerc bmw's and even if you look around for a second hand maybach it be cheap as chips (comparing to what it was when it was new) so depreciation is not a big deal. Plus you can always keep that car for longer than 3 years, or you might want to keep it forever. Why not? German reliability these days is not good either so tht not a problem too.
Fantastic car indeed - though I wonder how it compares to a full option C5? Here in the Netherlands, the price difference between a full-option C5 and a base model C6 is still significant. Are they worth the extra cash?
@akumabito2008 I would say yes. I had the choice of getting a new C5 or an 18 month old top of the range C6 with all the extras! No contest. I bought the C6. It is simply more than just a car, it gives me pleasure every time I see it. The looks are just something else. The old C5 was ugly and slab sided; the new one just looks like a BMW or Audi. The C6 looks like nothing else out there.
I have a (2001) C5 and had a flat tire last week but although I realised something was wrong with the car I drove home 120km on 3 wheels first ! While driving home I thought I had a problem with the suspension because it drove fine in the straights but it wobbled a bit in the corners ;-) Needless to say I love the hydro-active suspension now, I did not even know about this feature !

Saw a parked one the other day. Next to other more pallatable cars like mercs and even a ford. Damn does that thing look gastly. It looks like a glasshouse on wheel. Talk about airy and letting ight ine, you could grow stuff in it.
I have just bought a used one from Citroen in the UK, the 2.2HDi exclusive model with 6 speed manual gearbox, storm grey with cream leather interior. It is just 11 months old with only 2,500 miles on the clock. Having seen the car and test driven it on Saturday I can only say that this is one of the most stunningly beautiful cars on the road today and it only cost £18,000 compared to the original price of £35,000 for a new one. If this had a Mercedes badge on it would have cost twice that.
I think I'm going to get one of these. It only needs a bit more power to have it all. But the V6 diesel can be re-mapped safely to 250PS, which will do.
Absolute bargain secondhand. In the UK, there's currently an 07 V6 HDi with delivery miles for £15K, which is half the retail price!
I'm a Volvo S80 driver, a huge car that I love to bits. I drove along side the C6 the other week and promised myself I'd check it out as I loved the side and rear look. Gotta say it looks great, not bothered about the front look though, but clearly the interior is smart and well equipped. I also went from 85mph to 60 in the S80 as it's a pleasure to cruise in. Well done Citroen, will have a look as a 2nd hand option and time will tell if the electrics and service hold strong. We'll see.
BMW is such a ordinary car. If you drive trough the city with it, no one will look after you. but with the C6 you going to get many people watching at your car.
But no offense to the BMW 5 series, this is my opinion. i prefer the silly C6 because the shape and the rare look of it.

Both my parents work 4 Citroen UK + hav done 4 a combined time of over 30yrs. The C6 was designed + made anyway altho Citroen knew that they wernt going 2 sell many, especially in UK. It is made for chauffeur firms + private exclusive car hire etc. The MoD hav 6 armoured C6's that weigh about 3 tonnes each! However, people wud rather drive around with a BMW logo 4 an extra 7k. The highest spec exclusive C6 was my parents wedding car, the same car the MD of Citroen drives + was FANTASTIC to b in!
Citroen sold cars here (Canada) until the 1970s. My aunt and uncle drove a DS when I was little. Unlike the sealed-beam butchery that was done to them in the U.S., our Citroens had proper Euro-spec headlights.

I should also add, there's a sport button which these road testers miss, it firms up the steering and the suspension and holds the rev's on longer. It's not as stiff and back-breaking as the BMW, but it is just as powerful and delivers 208bhp in a smooth, controlled way, and the speed-sensitive spoiler certainly turns heads on the motorway!

@SuperCameronb Yes, there is the sport setting for the suspension AND a sport setting for the gearbox so you can mix and match driving styles to the conditions (there is a snow setting too!) and to how you feel. Personally I usually drive around with the normal setting on the suspension (if I wanted a hard suspension I would buy German) but the sport setting on the gearbox.Given I have the 3.0 16v petrol engine in that setting nothing beats me off the lights!A brilliant car nothing comes close

I've got a C6 which i got after having a BMW 5 series 3.0. I must say, i much prefer the C6. It is just as reliable and more luxurious. It's an amazing car, everywhere i go in it people turn and stare and it will out-pose the German equivalents any day. It's well equiped too, full of features that aren't available on the German equivalents or are expensive optional extras. It has heated seats all-round, a 10 speaker CD player system, Citroen's hydroactive suspension...

I had a citroen once. A GT thingy. really light, surprisingly fast. Great car, except that it was as flimsy as cellophane and broke down every 37 miles. Literally it was ALWAYS in the garage. As was the volvo I owned once. I can not allow myself to own a citroen or a volvo again as you can not consider them transport because they don't get you where you want to go.

Call me an Idiot but I think the C6 is a more classy car compared to a BMW 5 series. If I'm in a Beemer, they'd secretly hate me and call me a cock. In this, they'd treat me like a gentlemen. It's like an old victorian style mansion compared to a Modern Apartment. Yes they'll see you're rich but in in teh Mansion, they'll see you're richer than the rich.
And the best thing about it would be it's comfy ride. Typical german cars have rocks as suspension.
I'd go with the cream leather!

@kasparpl1993 FWD is more versatile way to go & it should be mandatory that women only b sold FWD cars - if they have 2 drive at all, one thing A-rabs have got right, women can't vote or drive - problem is, they've got everything else wrong! In any event, RWD provides better dynamics in good, dry weather, FWD superior in almost all other conditions but RWD is more fun - and 911s are most fun of all.

@vince33x Yes that's right. I don't know if you get the A8 with diesel engines in the US, but here in Europe you get the 3.0 TDi quattro with 250 hp and the 4.2 TDi quattro with 350hp and you get the baseversion : the 3.0 TDi with 204hp and FWD.

@galbmw Yeah the depreciation comes with every car. And the more expensive they get the cheaper they are when u try to sell them. That happens with mnerc bmw's and even if you look around for a second hand maybach it be cheap as chips (comparing to what it was when it was new) so depreciation is not a big deal. Plus you can always keep that car for longer than 3 years, or you might want to keep it forever. Why not? German reliability these days is not good either so tht not a problem too.

It is simply more than just a car, it gives me pleasure every time I see it. The looks are just something else. The old C5 was ugly and slab sided; the new one just looks like a BMW or Audi. The C6 looks like nothing else out there.

I have a (2001) C5 and had a flat tire last week but although I realised something was wrong with the car I drove home 120km on 3 wheels first ! While driving home I thought I had a problem with the suspension because it drove fine in the straights but it wobbled a bit in the corners ;-) Needless to say I love the hydro-active suspension now, I did not even know about this feature !

I have just bought a used one from Citroen in the UK, the 2.2HDi exclusive model with 6 speed manual gearbox, storm grey with cream leather interior. It is just 11 months old with only 2,500 miles on the clock. Having seen the car and test driven it on Saturday I can only say that this is one of the most stunningly beautiful cars on the road today and it only cost £18,000 compared to the original price of £35,000 for a new one. If this had a Mercedes badge on it would have cost twice that.

I think I'm going to get one of these. It only needs a bit more power to have it all. But the V6 diesel can be re-mapped safely to 250PS, which will do.
Absolute bargain secondhand. In the UK, there's currently an 07 V6 HDi with delivery miles for £15K, which is half the retail price!

I'm a Volvo S80 driver, a huge car that I love to bits. I drove along side the C6 the other week and promised myself I'd check it out as I loved the side and rear look. Gotta say it looks great, not bothered about the front look though, but clearly the interior is smart and well equipped. I also went from 85mph to 60 in the S80 as it's a pleasure to cruise in. Well done Citroen, will have a look as a 2nd hand option and time will tell if the electrics and service hold strong. We'll see.

C'est à cause des problèmes de recertifications nécéssaires pour faire passer une voiture européenne sur les marché américain. Beaucoup de changements à faire, ca coute pas mal et les marques françaises ont pas envie de prendre le risque de faire tous ces changements onéreux pour un possible échec commercial.

Both my parents work 4 Citroen UK + hav done 4 a combined time of over 30yrs. The C6 was designed + made anyway altho Citroen knew that they wernt going 2 sell many, especially in UK. It is made for chauffeur firms + private exclusive car hire etc. The MoD hav 6 armoured C6's that weigh about 3 tonnes each! However, people wud rather drive around with a BMW logo 4 an extra 7k. The highest spec exclusive C6 was my parents wedding car, the same car the MD of Citroen drives + was FANTASTIC to b in!

Citroen sold cars here (Canada) until the 1970s. My aunt and uncle drove a DS when I was little. Unlike the sealed-beam butchery that was done to them in the U.S., our Citroens had proper Euro-spec headlights.
