    Yes, I know, I was only joking : )

  • @TheMartialartsJedi

    Yes, I know, I was only joking : )

  • your dumb me grand master can do this faced he rules at drunken staff

  • Hey is'nt Shi Yangsong suppose to be the best at that style of Kung Fu?,or is it Fong wu Hoi?,can't quite remember, someone help me out here!. :-)

  • hey, I'm drunk almost every weekend and I'm not able to do all that :-)

  • Jaja.

    Yeah, me too.

    We need more practice :P

I remeber Roshi in Dragon Ball used that technique.

  • @SamoViKikujte practice you will get it

  • to train the mouvements of a drunk person the practitioner had to drink. Some practitioners became alcoholics thats why it is rearly tought

  • @fuckthisusername6 why not just teach ppl that are already alcoholics? It would be a fkin great rehab for those in a alcohol center :D.

  • wow this beautiful

  • do u really have to be drunk to properly practice this style of Kung fu

  • Shaolin Branch requires you to be drunk to practice Drunken style. Once you get used to the forms, you can practice without being drunk, or have firm control even under the influence.

  • @gamrage you couldn't be more wrong... read more you imbecile, it just suppose to imitate the movements of a drunk person... damn this gringos that believe everything they see on the movies

  • @Kaze123456 how can people be so dumb they belive that shit?

  • @gamrage your full of shit dude

  • heck no. you need to find your center XD

  • @Thelearner18 hellz no! u absolutely can not be drunk, it is impossible to do it drunk, you only pretend to be drunk

  • i think i have a good idea where the shaolin masters got the idea from, a night in dagenham

  • i whis they were really drunk though an took real shots

  • This is not funny. you can see the moves at Ong bak 2

  • This helps some fighters because their movements become less predictable

  • @sk8pirata your stupid , you wouldnt even be able to read his movements.you would be knocked out before laying a punch at him.

  • Wow a style that lets you drink and fight, I find that pretty fucking amazing lol

  • @LICKER33455 u dont get to drink!!

  • LMAO!!!

  • @sk8pirata

Yeah I'm sure you like to pound male ass.

  • ROFL

  • @ShaolinShadows lol BJJ has been kicking kung fus ass haha fuck drunken shit

  • fool if done properley the speed and momentum would be too great to grab....

  • Haha, you're seriously underestimating this style.

The style is designed to confuse the opponent. There is a lot of balance, focus and flexibility that is required. If you were to simply throw a punch at the guy, thinking that he won't see it coming, he'll be able to dodge it in a heartbeat and swing around to hit you using the enertia created when he dodged.

Let's see you try to fight this guy in a bar. :/

  • E thugging

Because talking shit in person in dangerous.

  • this kind of move is to confuse your enemy

  • no its the ability to fight completely relaxed

  • Fools.

  • after two drinks im always like

Wha.. Tha Ka Is Meh Wagon... Hey Do... is yo wanna drive my wagon.... is go vwoom vwoom

  • This is why learning kung fu from martial arts films is dangerous, you really think people are gulping sweet premium wine to get drunk before a fight.

    Buddah almighty

  • it would help.... if they were really drunk

  • no they arent

  • suck!

  • DRUNKEN BOXING get itd name from using misleading moves to trick your opponent and use their body against them and u DONT HAVE TO BE DRUNK alothugh some do but i wouldnt reccomend ot b/c you could get FKED UP.

  • a drunk child..lol

  • he'd be more dangerous if he's sober. the other guy is doing the "passed out" style. ^_^

  • i guess thats how the martial art start - you have to be drunk to learn the skills

  • no you dont it's very easy to be drunk and not drink i dont know how they do it

  • @disturbedman360

Who said they didn't drink? o_O

  • i did and i know that because i use the law some of these guys are under 18 and it is illegel to be drunk in public not to mention it is bad for their health what i do is drink water, pop, ect (no beer or anything like that) and for me it works

  • very acrobatic and athletic, but one of these guys got his ass kicked by a karate practitioner on a Japanese TV show.

  • Yeah, it's a dmn TV show, what do you expect?

I'm not saying that Shaolin is invincible or drunken fist is incredible. A master in karate or even boxing maybe very scary. But a TV show is only a show, it's acting base on script. Do you expect a TV show without any plan?

  • if he got his as kicked, then he wasn't one of these guys. ^^

  • Thats a practinoner who lost a fight not the style. Good day

  • @dbonanno ; Yes, because the karate practitioner expected the drunken style. Drunken style works better when the attacker is not aware that the KF practitioner isn't drunk.

Drunken style was only created for certain situations, not for matches. I can't believe the sifu let them fight

  • Drink my urine better yeah?

  • i wana see someone do this actualy drunk the way it was meant to be applied. i really dont understand how the balance of a kung fu master can be kept whilst extremely drunk, just doesnt make sense to me..

even though he looks unbalanced , he keeps his centre of gravity constantly above his foot or between two points which would be near impossible to do drunk especially with advanced movements... :S

  • drunken martial arts arent meant to be preformed under the influence but to get a understand of relaxing the muscle for the flexability to appear drunk

  • yea....but you could theoretically apply the same concept will intoxicated as well

  • many kung fu styles are named after the "immitated" object such as the monkey or the mantis or the tiger... in this particular style, the master immitates the movements of a drunken man to confuse his opponent with false steps, faltering steps, etc. its one of the most difficult styles to learn due to the need for powerful joints and fingers and its quite impossible to perform it under the influence of alcohol...

  • That is a common misunderstanding. Originally the reson behind drunken boxing was not to be able to fight whilst under the influence of alcohol, but rather drunk from loss of blood. Everyone should remember while watching Shaolin footage that classical styles and techniques are for really killing people. Drunken boxing uses misleading footwork and fluid hands to compensate for inevitable injuries incurred when fighting multiple opponents. (as all well rounded styles should.)

  • interesting i never thought of it like that, whats with all the pretending that they're drinking outof imaginary cups? even some of the moves seem like a bottle is in their hand and they take imaginary swigs of it.. obviously not this video but others. although your explanation does make sense and makes me think how serious the shaolin monks were about it (being drunk with loss of blood and still fighting is kindof crazy lol)

  • forgive me if i'm wrong but drunken boxing allegedly started when a shaolin temple was attacked while the monks were feasting, thus forcing them to fight while intoxicated...i read this in a book somewhere, and that the stumbling was supposed to build momentum? i dont think loss of blood was it

  • There's certainly a whole lot of myths and stories that circulate about Shaolin styles. But I have it on fairly good authority from my Shifu who was trained at Shaolin that the basis of the style is how to continue fighting when bleeding or badly injured. I wont bore you by elaborating on his/my lineage of teaching but it's a pretty solid authority...

  • I don't think the monks were supposed to drink alcohol or eat meat. That was part of being shaolin monks. So this talk of having a feast and being intoxicated doesn't sound authentic.

  • @Uouttooo ; Rofl, then you know nothing of buddhism ;-) There are buddhist wings where drinking, smoking and making love with women is A-O.K. Off course they need to achieve a certain state of being before they can do that...

  • Are you sure it was me that knew nothing about buddhism?

  • LOL

  • age 18+ at least

  • i agree drunken style ftw =)

  • I would skip kung fu and just stick to Drunken :)

  • drunken kungfu sounds good to me :p

  • If you are going to learn Ninutsu, be sure you go to an academy of REAL ninjutsu. There are a LOT of fake, pay-and-pass, ninjutsu training.

In ninjutsu you learn a wide variety of weapons, and, principally, you learn how to attack precisely the weak spots of human body.

Sorry by the bad english, hope you understanded it ;)

  • The music fits this perfectly!

Haha I'm learning Kung Fu and Ninjutsu now, and this is very impressive and deceptive stuff! =]

  • this giy is amazing. hope my kung fu was like that

  • A friend told me I do that when I'm drunk all the time, can't remember though...too drunk ;P jk amazing those shaolin monks!

  • you do that when you drunk lool.. its nothing to do with actually being drunk..

drunken martial arts is a movement to be deceptive to your opponents.. you think he is off balance when he is not.. his ceneter of gravity is always in his control. thus making his moves unpredicatble.

its a very very old technique.. way before any jacki chan movie who made it "famous".. but meh.

alot fo people wont understand it fully. if you are really drunk. your reactions are slow and you will fall.

  • Haha, I know I was jus kidding. My dad is a Tai Chi teacher and I've heard a lot about the shaolin temples. I liked the stories better when they were still a mystery, opposed to now, where it's become available to every one. Even we could go to a monastery to learn. I only did judo until I got the blue belt, nowadays my job is so fysical, I don't go to any sport anymore.

  • i see, very interesting. yeah i do agree. i liked it better when you hear of these things..

then again both sides has its ups and downs.. now that its soo widely spread through the internet and martial arts has grown .. people dont think much of the old styles no more.

but there is a point on both sides. but i prefer the stories loool. and the first time you see it :O

lol. take care bruh. im out

    peace

  • btw this clip of drunken style aint the best either lool.

  • I would so love to learn this, too bad they only teach it down family lines don't they?

  • from what i have heard its not very common.. so yes most likely through family lines or at least to minority of people.

yes would be cool lool. looks funky as hell. i mean jacki chan made it openly famous. but to have a mind set to fight in that style remembering "your not actually drunk" lool.

but yup.. you need huuge center of gravity so your core needs to be trained up before any "drunken" style is actually done.

  • Yeah, gotta be flexible as hell too, Man.

  • this style is now taught openly due to its love by the public and media the secrecy was broken

  • THat's gay... Gotta go to China now. =/

  • No, they don't do that as often now and many forms are taught to anybody that wants to learn.

  • Well fucking drunken boxing.

I'm a really good boxer, and I can fight drunk.

  • lol! well its a good way to get into a fight.. every weekend for me ;) hahahaah

  • ronaldo

  • incredible!

  • dude thats bull shit ur probly gunna et ur ass whooped by this dude

  • From :51 to :56 reminds me of my Saturday night at the bar. If the monk ended up spewing chunks, then it DEFINITELY would have been like my Saturday night.

  • Your drunken style is superb but no match for my 45 caliber and 9mm style.

  • dude, before you get that whipped out, he'd knock you flat on the floor and out before you you knew your pistol had already been whipped out of your holster. Obviously this would be at close range. It would be different if you guys were at the other end of the bars

  • Comment removed

  • nice.

  • they are not monks.

  • then what the hell are the GENIOUS >_>.

  • monks in usa? lol, they are normal students

  • so they arent monks because they are in USA >_>

what type of ignorant opinion is that lol.

you can become a monk anywhere with the proper training.

  • I LUV Shaolin Kung Fu! Movies, demonstrations, etc. There's one video called: "Martial Arts, the Chinese Masters." It's hot! Check it out, I'm sure all you martial arts junkies will approve.

  • крута!, спасиба)

  • We appreciate all comments. Buddhist monks have to uphold many disciplines (precepts). No drinking is one of them. So when Master YanSong demoed this style, by no means was he drunk. Far from it! He was fully alert. It was just a demo, an imitation. He is the head coach of Shaolin Temple USA in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been on world tour for the production called "Wheel of Life." You may have also seen him there.

  • not really capoeira was used as a defence for brazillian slaves and these styles are developed for defence. A rigid person is gonna be knocked of balance. this style always maintains control of balance

  • Capoeira is a Martial art you idiot.

  • Capoeira is indeed a martial art, it was invented by brazillian slaves and disguised as a dance to hide the fact they were actually inventing a way to defend themselves.

  • like the Philippines? ... you guys are right but I gotta tell ya capoeira should just stay a dance cuz is got weak hits... is tricky and cool and hard to defend but lacks power.

  • actually this style only imitates being drunk, since it takes so much coordination and balance to do it. they use the appearance of being drunk to confuse the enemy

  • its called a demonstration you knucklehead.

    invisible enemies??? wow your dense

  • lol, was joking!!!,your answer is the demonstration that u re idiot thanks

  • cool...

  • no, it's a metal staff. they do make staves out of metal

  • Drunken style is rarely passed down from a master, its mostly because the people who practice usually become drunken fools or die from an addiction. So I would consider this a rare sight. Just to note: Drinking while practicing is found in the native places of its origin. It dullens the nerves in the body so it can take more physical abuse.

  • in true drunken styles; being drunk isnt an aspect, it takes so much concentration to properly do the moves and pretend to be drunk that alchohal would only hinder. thoughi can imagine a few drunken masters have brought actual alchohal into the mix for duller feeling

  • There's a character in the game 'dead or alive' who fights drunken style like this. Very cool!

  • What is the music in the background?

  • Really great demo.

  • Hmmm, I should start drinking lol

  • they are not really drunk they look like they are drunk so the opponent can be distracted

  • love his balance!

    0:18, that looks great

  • Look at that drunken basterd go!!!...Right on!!!

  • they really wouldnt recommend you actually get drunk to learn this move

  • I know I went to wikipedi and read a little about the style, but still pretty good.

  • what a well thought out comment

  • lol

  • when you drink and fight its called a Drunken brawl minus the style.

  • nice

  • I want to learn this Sytle am not a Fan to the Chinese but I want to learn it.

  • monks arent allowed to drink alcohol....

  • ohh yeah i forgot about that LOL HAHAH

  • i believe there is a beverage they are allowed to drink that has alcohol in it. Its a religious drink i think...

    But idk

  • true my master knows shaolin style also

drunken but didnt like to drink his master died from being addicted to alcohol

but he didnt stop from the religious drink

wich is a form of sake

but kept goin so thats why drunken is a kinda of forbidden style to learn. hope this helped you out ^.^

  • blood of christ? lol rofl

  • Amazing!

  • WOW !

  • But the best way to learn drunken kung fu is to get a partner for u to spar with and a bottle of beer for u to get drunk.

  • Drunken Fist is an ancient style... in the real world if you get involved in a fight with someone who really know the Drunken fist you will be defeated... because you think he's an easy opponet.

  • i like how everyone one on youtube is a martial arts and fighting expert.

  • lol true

  • i always wonder why the chinese like martial arts(no offense to the chinese)

  • cause that's they're culture, and for the shaolin monks, they're religion, cool isn't it? xD

  • kool

  • no duh, it's a form. rarely do you see someone fighting with drunken boxing, but there is the combat equivalent to those forms. forms are simply a way of putting a bunch of fighting techniques together so they can be memorized easier and called upon without thinking in a fight. while they wouldn't fight like you see this guy do in the form, they would definitely use some of the techniques in a fight.

  • that the thing if you was to fight him you would be like he is stupid and no one fight like that but really he is fooling his opponent he want them to think that he is drunk and all of that stuff and he would find the perfect time to attack he also seem like he is off balance doing all of that stuff but really he have perfect control of his body

  • your comment makes you look stupid.

  • and so does urs

  • oops ur talking bout that 1 guy srry xD

  • im pretty sure that little kid could whup my ass. even if he was drunk. thats just not fair. brings a whole new edge to the "how many 12 year olds could you take on?" eh?

  • I'm joking btw

  • Is it just me or is there just something wrong when seeing shaolin kids under age 10 doing their perfected drunken style in these demo clips.

  • I can see why its called the drunken style xD looks like this guy has had a few bottles of scotch

  • You fail.

  • comeone then you twat :)

  • you fail hard

  • i know drunken kung fu too.

    yay

  • That´s what i´m doing every weekend .....

  • shaolin rocks

  • true drunken stick

  • Beba cachaça

  • Excellent Video!

  • hey its sifu yansong!
