Actually..

If your natural hair color is darker than a level 5, maybe even a level 4. To get a vibrant red color you would indeed have to prelighten your hair. The contributing pigments in a level 3&4 are usually red or a red orange. You would then not need to go over with a toner. You would go over with the red dye of your liking. ManicPanic is NOT a permanent hair dye. Which is why depending on how often you wash your hair, you will need to redye every week. *Yes I am in the cosmetology field*

Try that, if you want red hair, tell mem what you think, or if you really want ^^ That color that Ally used , maybe try using 2 boxes, for thick hair or dark hair (: Tell me what you think !! That's not really true , I have very dark hair . Its almost black and I use the same dye and mine comes out VERY red.

The only way it's not going to work on your hair is if you've dyed it black .
