  • Awesome Australian singer Jenny Morris

  • Love Jenny Morris. Brings back memories of all the great music of that era.

  • Best "unknown" Neil Finn song.

  • Been listening to this singer since I was 16. I'm now 39 and still listening.

  • no janis was a complete different singer, completely.

  • somewhere there must be a neil finn demo.love 2 hear it.release the lp and put some andrew farriss demos too.

  • A friend is someone who is there for you when he'd ratherr be somewhere else.

  • This brilliant song was written by Neil Finn from Crowded house and Split Enz. Its lyrics are brilliant, vibrant and real. Luv It.

  • Ahh 1987.

I was 16 and it was a golden year for music.

  • Jesus, haven't heard this song in years and still remember all the words! Fantastic voice.

  • Yeah Jenny had a set of pipes alright and at her best one of if not the best female vocalist to come from New Zealand.

  • love this song, lived in NZ from 1983 til 1988. Was pregnant with my son Matthew when I think I remember this song. I just love it, makes me remember all the good times in NZ.

  • bad sound quality

  • Neil Finn wrote this.

  • Bloody Kiwi's aye! 2 much talent, thanx Jenny. In England they say "will you be my girl" but here in Aotearoa the Maori boys say " e hine e hoki mai ra" Arohanui Jenny XxxoxxX

  • Saw Jenny in Cairns last night. She still has a great voice. This song has such great memories for me as a Pom now living in Australia. It was in the charts in 1987 during my first visit down under. I bought the 7" single on vinyl & played it to death on my return to the UK.

  • Damn i've had a 25 year crush on this woman!

  • Reminds me of a girl I met at a Party Boys concert in 1987, I sat next to her on the train 2 weeks later, but she didnt remember me:(

  • I recall Jenny, like Split Enz, Dragon, Mark Williams and Misex had to move to Australia in order to become better known - keep in mind with Crowded House that the Finn's were the only kiwis in the lineup...

Jenny's career began in the late 1970s (apparently, she was a school teacher) before her time in The Crocodiles (which featured Bruno Lawrence on drums) when she fronted an all women group, "The Wide Mouthed Frogs"...

  • Wow. This reminds me of 3rd form and I use to blast this on my tinny cassette tape deck loud as. Great album Jenny!!

  • andrew farris from inxs helped jenny with alot of her music when inxs had time out from each other in the late 80,s early 90,s.great song, very sexy!

  • Think one of the Finn brothers wrote this....

  • Her 80's look in this clip was toned down enough to be pretty much right now in 2010, go Jenny. Always a great song, great voice.

  • great voice great song

  • written by the amazing Neil Finn

  • A fucking awesome song. What a voice. She sure can sing.

  • A beautiful, talented and complex multi-faceted Kiwi girl through and through! And a wonderful upbeat song that will last the ages! Go Jenny!

  • HAve a look at her song 'This one'. Performed by her in the 80's band QED... Brilliant

  • watched her with her orig. band - the wide mouthed frogs - welly, rock theatre, '79! rrruuufff! spunkrat!!

  • she's right!

  • carpetcle....IF "anyone" has a hit song, wouldn't it be true that it will sell no matter what country you are in. Your short "quote" can be misread, maybe as you have. You have emphasised ' anyone' , 'can' , 'in' , and 'Australia', maybe suggesting Australia may be a pushover? which got you upset?maybe how she said it?Read it again 7 times and emphasise only one word giving each a turn of emphasis.Does it sound different or are you still not Happy. If not ,then which one are you ? Hi ho hi ho

  • She could'nt have be more wrong if she tried if that was her theory, if any nation was guilty of listening to and accepting absolute shyte quality in music it would have to be the UK !

Set aside some of the obvious genuine quality hits, what they generally classed as good music was in fact usually absolute crap to the rest of the world.

  • NZ would have to be # 1 in the world for people who do not get enough credit for their awesome talent...or someone else claims em, either way. I don't think there is a KIWI alive that can't sing...and I am not a kiwi blowin their own trumpet but a skip.

  • Tiene una voz encantadora y sus canciones son muy buenas! 5/5*!

  • Grrrr - Dead set spunk!
