A tear might fall from any man's eye to dust in desert and another pass by who, seeking sustenance, suck it on up like an ant in heaven of only one cup.
check it: the movies all about a boy's road to manhood through sex
he deflowers his girl: blood on screen; then high fives the old man; his perception of man before he loses virginity. then kills the old man; after sex, he becomes his own man. the old man is a personification of a stereotype of manhood. the road to manhood is the movie.
"This is what you want, this is what you get". OMG! You've nailed what this movie is about. He doesn't want the truth but of course that's exactly what HE NEEDS to be free to escape the perpetual hell of his Lost Highway. Clever to linking this song with this clip. I love it when someone gets this movie more than I do.
This movie is about Jealousy also, and women, and how men use and view women, and how men see women subcounciously. He likes to portray the dark and demonic undercurrent to things
Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. I can't find the album either on iTune (and they don't even have the soundtrack of The Blair Witch Project). I'll keep looking.
you can look for the hardware movie soundrack, probably go to ebay to find it, I have had that soundtrack on CD for at least ten years, Varese Sarabende records I believe made it
Great combo, dude! As a matter of fact, the movie makes a helluva lot more sense THIS way! It also has one of Robert Blake's last really great performances. CREEEEPY!!!
So what? Did he kill his wife and then try to remember things the way they were? But that didn't work so then he re-invents himself and his wife completely? But that doesn't work either, right? So then what?
He's in the electric chair throughout the whole movie, executed & dying; the moment in the cell & when he changes into Pete, & the moment at the end when he burns up in the car in the police chase. Aways trying to escape his reality by imaging a new character/story/reality but always being dragged back to the beginning of his reality - he killed his wife & 'Dick Laurent is dead". His ego refuses to die and keeps trying to invent a new 'reality' but he can never that hell.
Love the movie. Love the song "Order of Death" by Public Image Ltd. This song was played during the final scene in an old Miami Vice episode called "Little Miss Dangerous". Thanks for posting this video. It's Great.
@MikeHawkins I got in SouthAmerica for $ 1.50 and all the Lynch movies for less than 10 bucks. These are part of the good things of this place. Love it!
there's no way in hell that the person below me nailed the song, episode and title. I owe you a beer, at the very least. 10 years of forgotten memories not only became reality, but downloadable.
"Hardware" Summer of '90. I remember watching that movie with a bunch of friends at a drive-in Higher than f*ck and peaking right about when this song was played. Sober now (thank god) but I still have the memories.
This song was used in an episode of Miami Vice. I remember staying up late to watch it and it totally freaked me out.. It was about this artist/serial killer pyromainiac hooker chick.. "Little Miss Dangerous" season 2.. classic.
Blake meeting Pullman at the party is one of the weirdest scenes in the history of cinema. It was no surprise that Blake killed his freak in "real" life because he deserved her. "This is what you want, this is what you get" sums up everything for everyone.
This WAS played in Miami Vice but its really an ost from the sci fi movie Hardware

The A/V-editing is asynchronous and even the first three words of the song are missing ... not really precise work.
