  • I like the fact that he went to full elbow extension at the bottom, and chin over the bar at the top. For those questioning the amount of reps, it didn't look like a max effort attempt. He was also very heavy. Most people over 200# in bodyweight tend do crappy pull-ups, way short of elbow extension at bottom, barely reaching the forehead to the bar, and wild hip/knee motions after a few reps. Loved the way The Oak did them.

  • It's better to be fit overall while including strength training. Bodybuilding is overated. You can be big but that doesn't mean your fit.

  • the heavier you are, the harder pull ups are. I'm sure he can do more than 6, but muscle alone doesn't necessarily mean you can do hundreds!

  • There are so many misconceptions about steroids it's not funny. No matter what he was injecting he would look the way he did without a LOT of hard work, dedication and natural talent. Ultimately steroids merely assist the body, not replace proper training and diet. Nor, contrary to popular belief, do they allow you to surpass your genetic potential, merely bring it more realistically within reach.

    nah it ain't possible to achieve that without steroids, it's the truth, there have been studies done on people who took steroids and did no muscle activities whatsoever and guess what? they gained muscle mass, so that shows you the potency of anabolic hormones. You can get big/swole but dont expect to be 225 lbs at 5% bodyfat either naturally, i've yet to see someone natural onstage that was ripped and huge, shit doesn't make scientific or logical sense.

  • Actually, steroids allow you to go very much further than your genetic potential without steroids. A male at his peak hormonal state has 1000 nanograms per deciliter of Test.That's the level of a male between the ages of 14-21. Steroids can bring that level to 3000-5000 Ng/Dl, far surpassing the any level of anabolism that the human body could ever achieve naturally. Steroids allow the user to push far beyond the limits of genetic potential and give the user a HUGE advantage over non-users.

    In all the litterature I've read on physical exercise, and muscle growth, I've yet to hear about muscle cell hyperplasmia in "normal" adults... I just doesn't happen without some chemestry help.

    That said, every athlete / bodybuilder most work damned hard, to achieve the physical changes / sports goals they do - and that in my book is more than worthy of respect! :)

  • @santeenl there is no talent in bodybuilding just time. when i first started pullups i couldnt do 1. now i can do at least 3. same with bodybuilding. anyone who puts in time and steroids can get that big. it's not impressive as being a genius like albert einstein.

  • @hassan1255 Well it's funny you say that, cause some things like talent is something you cannot help, it's just something you got. Albert Einstein was not only really smart, but he worked a lot for it. Without dedication you won't reach anything. Same goes for sport and probably same goes for bodybuilding. You need a good body to start with (gene's or so called "talent") to grow muscles, but training and feeding are things that ask a lot from.

  • i think it s a shame that he transformed from one of the most eathetic bodybuilders in the world to a weak fat guy. That s one of the reasons why i am totally against steroids. If you build muscle, build quality muscles! They will last, even when you are old. For example, sylvester stallone still looks very fit!

  • @Econ1260MetZRoberto well his claim has been held up by many different people,so it really doesnt matter what u think.he had 3% bodyfat. hes got medical reports from when he passed out. his diet was analyzed and strongly discouraged by the doctors. you got the physical evidence too.i know what a guy on roids looks like&he wasnt it.now he is,but the physique that made him famous was completely natural.if a guy that worked out like that did roids,hed look like jay cutler.dont hate the greats.

  • @MrMbogza He actually has weight attached to him..Arnold could do MUCH over 50 unweighted pull ups. People turn isometric exercises such as dips and pull ups and use enough weigh so that they can do only 8 (75% of a 1RM.) The video cut off the beginning where he began.

  • @kwahnsltaeb Hmmm, it does not work that way. Do you know how many pull ups Arnie can do or could to? The heavier and bigger you are, it will be more difficult for you to lift your body to do more reps. Being big or looking strong doesn't mean that you have the strenght to do thousands of pull ups non stop. It has more to do with practice, working specific muscles and your body type.
