A mock may only need to be a tweak, it doesn't always have to be a completely new design. If you look at my other mocks you'll see I have started from scratch on a lot of them.
I was involved in helping the senior designer of News 24 come up with the 2007 astons, which these are based on, so I doubt I can get any closer to starting from scratch!
Another mocker came up with this Breakfast 'tweak', but was only able to create stills. I took those stills and animated them to create this video.
you say "Mocks are personal takes on what TV graphics should, could and might look like".
why not start from scratch,instead of 'tweaking' what the bbc have spent thousands of pounds (probably) letting someone designer create?
