  • really wish i was in the city when this happened. it would have been pre cool haha

  • Where was I???? i would get my bordies on and got fro a ride to frankston

  • @ilyacibko I did not think of that but you probably right haha!!

  • this would have been the perfect time to steal someones car while it floats away

  • Atleast the streets got clean.

    This is good, right?

  • Which intersection was this?

  • Wow I caught in this in the car it was total chaos, not to mention a whole lot of fun.

  • 1. go to supermarket.

    2. get body board.

    3. win

  • does this happen every year???

  • @azielzoeker19 I do not think so.

  • @azielzoeker19 HAHAHA

  • Lol I was actually caught in this myself, outside Young & Jacksons. My mate and I were in the city, indulging in some McDonalds, when the window literally went white with hail & rain. Upon reaching downstairs, the water was already at the exit, with onlookers lined up in the doorway filming. We crossed the road to Flinders St station with alot of difficulty, but had to go back because there was no trains running. Honestly, the only really bad part I saw in this storm other than the roof of Sout

  • I remember a similar flash flood the day after my 18th birthday, on 9th February 1989. Little Burke St became literally a river, and Myer had to quickly close off the doors to the Bargain Basement because it was getting flooded. Took me ages to get home, because no one was game to cross the road, so I remember sneaking into Myer to use the bridge on the first floor, just to get to Flinders St Station. Earlier that day it was late 30s.

  • is that snow??? I mean.. the hail storm thingy...???

  • heel of a storm.....well hopefully, i'll be there next year and have to get use to this kind of stuff.

still, i've heard there's no better city in the world than melb.

  • wow in 2012 id be there with my radar equipment and prepared for it so its not 2012 its still 2010.

  • Wow! Pretty intense stuff!

Im hoping to move here from the UK soon :)

  • @Killerer YOu pick the right place. Melbourne is awesome. I have been living here for 13 years and loving it :)

  • wheres the boogie boards?

  • where was i when this happend i had no idea and i live there

  • what date was this?

  • Grab your rubberboat and have fun!

  • @RonTheelen472 thats what I would have done XD

  • Wow imagine someone doing a backflip in that water xD

  • i was in melb suburbs, it was a rly freaky quiet b4 the storm

  • I juat posted a video respone (Thunderstorm - Respect The Wind), 4 of the last 5 photos on the video are from this Melbourne Supercell taken near Calder Park, the WNW suburbs and Melbourne were lucky that day a huge wedge Tornado did not continue to develop from a rotating wall cloud. The storm had the potential to produce one of the biggest Tornadoes in Australia.

  • this was the greatest storm.

  • @AlexanderKafkis you wont be much fun though. So wet and cold, you cant do much.

  • where exactly in melb was this? which intersection?

  • @SONIZ100 at the corner of Elizabeth and Little Bourke Street. Opposite GPO

  • @chinaahpek OMG I used to always go there. Hudsons coffee?

  • I won't call Melbourne is ending 2012!!

I Live Melbourne and its the beautiful city !!!!

  • can som1 tell me what this means, last year i saw blue flashes in the sky, like not lightning but covering a few clouds, dark blue flashes but no noise?

  • I could Skimboard that! Woohoo!

  • This is unreal!!

  • The fact that you keep going on about this shows to all of us that your from Sydney and therefore since your NOT in Melbourne must mean that its a better place.

  • This happens every 10yrs or so in Melbourne, were like Adelaide, desert winds meet Antarctic winds.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • thats fucking amazing i bet the plants are crying with joy

  • err.... 0:18 why would you touch that dirty DIRTY water!?!

  • 2012 i dont know ...but today may 14 2010 Carlise PA . USA ...got fucked with golf ball size hail it never happend before and my car got all fucked up i m so pissd wtf is goin on with weather?

  • Who says this was fake? What the? We were there - there are a million witnesses!

  • Victoria's largest ever infrastructure project the desalination plant sea water drinking. What a water smart government we have in Victoria

  • Melbourne is such an Epic Fail of a city..!!! arguably Australia's worst location.... dry and hot.. but still gets tones of rain... (and the city is actually built on a swamp bak in the 1840's...Yarra River wasn't actually a river at all) Brisbane & Sydney is like 100 times better than the best bits of Smelbourne

  • @paddlebomb apart from all your information being bullshit and you being clearly dillusional as melbourne is one of the most livable cities in the world (officially).. you must be pretty fucking dumb

  • @limosince2007 ummm the fact that your saying my comment is bullshit, actually proves that perhapes your the "pretty fuking dumb" one, becoz its a fact that, Melbourne CBD was a partial swamp, and Docklands Habour wasn't there, it was man-made, and the river was widened by alot too..!!

  • @limosince2007 and ...o m g Melbourne has never actually been #1 it was ranked 3rd in 2009.... and thats becoz of property prices, and living cost... it has nothing to do with how good it actually is... but i guess this is a title Melbourne will brag about for the next 50 years!!.... another thing thats stupid, Melbourne still tries to live in its 1850's Gold-Rush hey day period.... like get ova it.... even Brisbane is a nicer city than Melbourne..

  • @paddlepopkid well, yes, i said 'one of the most livable cities'. and remind me, where did the others rank? also who is the sporting nation of the country? who has the best coffee in australia? who has the best music scene in australia? now tell me what somewhere in australia other than melbourne has that can beat that

  • @limosince2007 Lol... another Melbournian ranting on, trying to justify melbourne is all that... Melbourne and its people r slightly pathetic yous keep saying "hey hey look at us, we are the bigger, we are smarter and we can do this better" but fact is, its always #2... omg having the melbourne cup, aussie open, hardly makes it the "sporting capital" of australia... what a load of rubbish

  • @limosince2007 as for coffee... Lol.. the same coffee made in melbourn is made everywhere in Oz... starbucks, gloria jeans, andronicas.. etc all comes from south america and africa... it just has a more "coffee culture" coz its colder in winter.! music scene..? hahah what music scene does melbourne have..? fact is, wheneva there is a concert tour, sydney almost sells 3x the amount of tickets... just like Supafest last month

  • @limosince2007 im pretty sure melbourne gives itself alot of its so called titles... like sport capital,, music capital,, fashion capital... its all bull crap melbournes labels itself to try and feel as important as Sydney

... but tell me where The Big Day Out Festival started..?

and where Australia Fashion Week is..? tell me which city earns more revenue on the back of sporting events...? sorry melbourne loses.

  • @paddlepopkid really? so you guys earn more from your shitty little SCG then our MCG which hosts the afl grand final, the biggest australian sporting event of the year

  • @limosince2007 don't call our SCG shitty.. bitch..!! its actually historic now, and we can't renovate it like melbourne did... your MCG is ugly anyway...! besides we have ANZ stadium (olympic staduim) which is the same size as MCG and we have the Sydney Football Staduim, along with many others... wow AFL, only melbournians care about that... we have Rugby, big deal, but guess what... in the Fifa World Cup bid for 2018 Sydney is hostnig the opening ceremony and the Final Match...

  • @paddlepopkid in the fifa world cup bid. wake me up when that comes true

  • @paddlepopkid Actually, the Homebush stadium has a smaller capacity than the MCG - the wings for the Olympics which brought the capacity to 100,000 were only temporary - the true capacity is only about 75,000, about 25% lower than the MCG. And you still can't fill it for the NRL GF!

  • @limosince2007 so suck on that... thanks to melbourne's ROUND staduims... Sydney will once again.. go on display to the entire world... i bet your wishing melbourne had more rectangul staduims for Football Codes... and that stupid Aami Park staduim... what an epic fail... cost the government millions and millions of dollars, which they only built to compete with sydney,, and they have to spend more fixing the roof after it has leaks everwhere.. fail fail fail just like the Observation Wheel

  • @paddlepopkid alright sorry, we'll just keep having our 90,000 crowds at footy games. i guess thats too much for sydney to handle. if something exciting happened in sydney people might be shocked, the public don't like surprises. you can go back and jack off to your amazing 'bridge'. yes... bridge... exciting... while we drink good coffee, remain the widely-known sporting capital of the country, have a better music scene than you and have trams. have fun in your hole

  • @limosince2007 Lol... you are ignorant to think sydney is just a bridge... or opera house... i think melbournians have little brother syndrome!! is that really all you have on sydney... Coffee..? haha and trams..? Lol, i guess people are right when they say Sydney is the only global city in australia atm.. sydney pissed the trams off the in 1950's coffee is everywhere... and while your drinking coffee, ill enjoy cocktails on one of many beaches (yes its almost summer in sydney for 9mths a year)

  • @limosince2007 and since when do 90,000 crowdes at footy games commonly happen, thats for the semi's and finals, not every week wanker...! AFL is gay anyway... and noooo... its melbourne who keeps telling themselves they are "sport capita"... Lol since when do we have sport capitals in the world anyhow... keep dreaming, enjoy your smelbourne..

  • @paddlepopkid Don't think it's only finals that get massive crowds at AFL games. In 2010 alone (excl finals), Coll v Ess 90,070; Coll v Gee 88,115; Gee v Coll 84,401; Coll v StK 81,386; Carl v Coll - in fact there were 10 games this year alone where crowds were above 70,000, a further 14 between 50-70,000, all at the MCG, excluding Finals. Kind of figures Sydneysiders would spit chips over, wouldn't it?

  • @paddlepopkid In comparison the NRL is looking pitiful - highest h&a crowd a mere 48,516 Broncos v Cowboys, then 42,269 Broncos v Dragons, 42,233 Broncos v Panthers, 42,233 Bulldogs v Titans, 40,168 Broncos v Titans. Average H&A crowd AFL in 2010 = 36,907, NRL = 16,652. In fact Rugby Union beat Rugby League with 19,767. How pitiful is that!

  • @limosince2007 Yea mate, whateva you rekon... 6million visitors for the 2000 olympics, 250,000 international visitors for World Youth Day event... and on average 2million tourist each year, sure 90,000 is just too much way to much to handle, and don't start comparing melbournes transport to that of sydney.... all our trains tripple decker,(melbourne is just one level) we have monorails in CBD, and Habour Ferries and Water Taxi's... try again

  • @paddlepopkid when will you give up limosince2007... this is something, you cannot win... Sydney is Australia's only Alpha Global City, its one of the most recognised cities in the world... and Sydney is simply all that and more! you see, Sydney just struts its stuff,, while insecure melbourne, has to continuall compare itself to Europe and New York, and every little thing yous build, tries to be an "icon" .. talk about an Idenity Crisis

  • @paddlepopkid haha theres nothing to "win" its just a fact, melbourne is a better place to live, who cares about all the alpha global city crap, melbourne just has a better vibe overall. Not to mention the music scene.. :)

  • @paddlepopkid

Dude, I've only ever been a tourist in Sydney but Melbourne's just another stable place to live, like any other first world city, the end.

  • @paddlepopkid melboure still is best known for its music tho

  • lol 2012 ... melbourne rain get used to it..

  • dope shit

  • Sooo... I heard you like Rain. You sure you like it that much? ;D

  • nearly every city in the world has had un-natural flooding within te last 5 years. Here in london we have, Rio de Janerio, even in Dubai a couple of weeks ago.

Global warming is a lie. Co2 emissions are no causing the world to warm up, its now been proven a money making scheme......SO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE FLOODING.

    LINK- weather modification, HAARP....etc

FACT- THE YEAR 2012 WILL BE THE FAKE END OF THE WORLD!

  • @CROldon no 2012 will be the spiratual awakening of everyone whos ready...

  • lol, dude that is so awesome!! i would have grabbed one of the tables in that coffee shop and sailed down that street! XD

  • I was in Melbourne at that stage too. Wow. Everything happened so fast!

  • Science? if they had developed better weather warning systems for example the Bali Tsunami. no warning even though they saw it coming.Hurricane Katrina by reinforcing the levee that had been left neglected for years would have saved New Orleons from the fifth deadliest hurricane in the history of America. How about putting your "brains" to developing some practical solutions.Instead of creating science panic.Proper communications for Bushfire warnings wouldn't go astray either.

  • so true lol

  • Right, Melbourne has the scum.. seems a list of Australia's most "Unpopular" cities names good ol' Adelaide 2nd along with Darwin.. (shivers) god i would hate to have my great city named as bad as Darwin..

  • @wordzofwizdom WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!! It was just a flood the sky was full of rain! that doesnt mean thaat we are going to drown!!!

  • @EasyNameToMember you know you just insulted other peoples home sydney isnt better, and our dams have shot through the roof Melbourne needed that so you cant complain. Why is everyone complaining WE NEED THIS!

  • @dippywatcher its just the freakin weather

The earth is made out of this tissue that collects water (evaberation) and when it gets full it rains the tissue is fairly high so it flooded> the world naturly heats and cools down.

  • Did they die?

  • Better get a move on with my Ark.

  • @xxImSexy7272xx no shit sherlock

  • i agree with erkan goeagles109 is faggot,

  • hailpocolypse

  • Comment removed

  • @dippywatcher, natural. Australia has one of the most unpredictable climates on Earth. For example, this time last year (I'm in Radelaide) we had a record breaking heatwave, but this time this year it feels like Winter. I'm still waiting for Summer to hit but I guess we just got an extended Spring.

Gotta love this country... So random :)

  • Whereabouts were you? Because the one in Bourke St was like that.

  • Man, trying to swim in that was awesome. I lost my housekeys though, and the hailstones were not fun

  • hahahahahah water no problem

  • Whoa, I had no idea the city was so bad! You could get swept down the road in that shit!

  • Why would the govt invest money in a system to catch a flood in a city when it has never experienced anything like it?. Sydney doenst have such a system, neither does brisbane.. Geez,, ur confusing town flooding with city surburban flooding.. get with it...

  • Elizabeth Street is on a dry creek bed which is prone to flash flooding about once every 10 years.

  • Comment removed

  • awsome!

  • hahahahahaha!!! i was there!!!

but not in the vid tho -_-

  • ye... ur a fag?

  • Anyone wanna go white water rafting?

  • lol haha melbourne x)

    although...

I would love to drive really fast past a bus stop... everyone would get soaked xD

  • me2 me2 lol

  • lol, this is the closest thing we melbournians have evr gotten to snow. but too bvad it sucked. im so glad i dont live in the city

  • ahhh well you were complaining about a super drought, look what you got and all you hear now are complaints

  • @lief1250 one downpour of rain generally does not successfully end a 20 year drought...

  • i can't belive brisbane dodged this lol

  • Melbourne is not a shithole, it is the 2nd most livable city in the world... 2nd to Vancouver, according to the reputable 'Economist' ranking list.

Any calm down people pretty sure the whole '2012' thing in the title is a joke... jeez.

  • im from newcastle, and i agree

  • Comment removed

  • @phattube7

So you've met MOST of ALL international travellers in the world? Didn't think so. You're not very intelligent are you.

Totally a shit hole seeing as its officially the worlds second most livable city

    The Economist's World's Most Livable Cities 2010

    1 Vancouver Canada 98.0

    2 Melbourne Australia 97.9

    You just failed so hard.

  • man u could kayak down that thing

  • epic lol

  • i didnt noit was that bad

  • okay heres what im gonna say. If u has never been to australia or melbourne. THEN DONT SAY ITS SHIT. melbourne is an awesomee city! and just cuz their a fricking flood doesnt mean its FILTHY. AND melbourne is not a shit hole. Its extremely green and pretty.. Melbourne is the same as all other cities. Im pretty sure other cities have MORE TRASH THAN MELBOURNE THOUGH. AND aussies are veryy smart. :)

  • @Nintendogsrules Im so with you people critizize our city just cause a simple flood. there has been worse in sydney but no one critizes them!

  • UnforgiviN5005: That's because Sydney Rocks and Melbourne that day just had wet socks!

  • fuck you mate

  • @daveandOYO

    Where do you live?

  • well streets are currently clear of rubbish for the next few days

wander if mother nature gets paid for public service haha

  • why do ppl keep saying fake..dont you watch the news

  • omg that storm was awesome!

haha but theres good news, the middle of this week it should start to become sunny and warm again!!

  • hopefully melbourne's drought will be over!

  • absolutely spot on!....

and furthermore the preceding governments took the water money and ran...never investing in growing with the population and developing for the future...the solution?-- WE pay more... what a f'n joke.

  • GOVERNMENT? WTF??.. The city has just experienced a natural disaster.. It has nothing do with the govt.. Thats NOTHING!

  • @jtso6123 Its not a natural disaster!!

  • Melbourne is a wonderfully built city compared to Sydney, by far.

    Stop bitching about everything -_-

  • ur well on ur way though.

  • poor victorians. they just keep taking it.

  • @phattube7 LOL Adelaide? That's the shithole of the planet

  • theboxmike..you obviously dont live here, and havent travelled the world. ive spent lots of time all over australia and overseas, US, California, Pittsburgh, Chicago, -the UKm ?London, Norfolk, Birmingham and everywhere in between, India- calcutta, bangalore etc, NZ...everywhere, Indonesia...loads of places..europe...ditto. Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane are where its at. And i havent been anywhere that offers the balance that adelaide has. maybe Perth has it..but trade off jobs for distance.

  • pick the Greek voice... "oh my gawd"

  • its snowing hail!

  • Nice perfect weather here in Adelaide. But good to see the melbournians have a bath for a change :P

  • Australia

  • explain this republicans.......

  • LOLL where abouts was that?

  • melborne maby??

  • no shit buddy, but where in melbourne?

  • Melbourne is a city in a state in australia called victoria

  • adelaides the most boring city in australia but

  • adelaides full of bogans tho

  • lol and melbourne isn't? haha

AUSTRALIA is full of bogans and convict reenactors.

up until only 10 years ago all men and boys were walking around looking like wiggas..... loose pants like american gansters.

and now they are doing the whole "let's try and look more european coz the gangsta thing failed".... fortunately.

  • @phattube7 Checkout my video of this!

  • hey man we got hit by the same storm

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck, that's crazy

  • FF 13 is coming out tomorrow.

    Fuck 2012. lol

  • Dude - so much water. 2012 though? Bit dramatic don't you think? This kind of thing happens every few years in Australia because the country is affected by the El Nina effect - not El Nino! Wrong part of the world for that. In the last decade the Wheatbelt in WA where I live has been in drought and had several major storms - one of which resulted in normally dry salt lakes remaining full of water for two years. It's nothing new, just nature been unpredictable.

  • "Save our Space Ship Mother Earth!"

  • i was there playing with my paper boat..luv it..awesome flood..it helps my paper boat to run fast..giggleyohoo!!

  • this is nothing even towards climate change, floods happen because they happen we just got a big storm and well we got rain meh

  • friggen hell that is insane. I thought we were gettting hit hard.

go watch myspacesecrets here on youtube he is very accurate and says there are many changes coming..this is just one of them.

  • if people people are saying that this storm is an indicator of climate change, because of how much rain there was... you're idiots!

we've been in a drought for like 10 years now. When we have rain, its ussually a lot

  • Check out ways to excel at Farmville:

    tiny (.) cc/lOmPY

  • lol it wouldve been funny to throw a 100 in there and watch everybody jump in for it

  • hahah yeah!
