  • oh my god so cringey.... love this stuff

  • "You try summat, and that's-"

  • He can kick his legs up for the telly, but does he bother for his partner?

  • this is soo funny, ironically haha

  • Both American and British versions are hilarious.

    Great show

  • lmao fk he's a loser , but in his mind he's a winner lmao frikin legend

  • yeah the wanking claw would never fly here in the states heheh

  • hahaha the funniest part is watching him stew over his shit performance at the end lol

  • 3:51 fuckin' gets me every time. One of my favorite moments in the series XD

  • 21 dislikes- Fat stupid YANKS

  • @MickJagoffable Hey watch it i'm a yank and i love this version way better than the american one so friggin' chill kthx ;) also what you people don't understand is that its mostly northerners in the u.s are referred to as "yanks" so use the correct term "Americans" next time you want to throw an ignorant insult.

  • The wanking claw.....classic

  • only me?!!! and the look on his face lol

  • painful

  • This is the best show. Ever.

  • Gervais is a comedy genius.

  • god i loved this series

  • I've been to see Ricky 17 times now and I really don't think he is that funny.

I'm going to see him again next week to see how he does then...

  • @Isleofskye Trallagh upon Ian Beale?

  • @Isleofskye thats the weirdest thing ive ever heard! why do you keep going to see him?!

  • @petergormley1

To see if he will improve.

  • @Isleofskye na man that makes no sense at all! if you didnt like him the first 17 times, don't expect him to suddenly change on the 18th! o ho ho

  • @petergormley1

    There are past precedents Peter....

"And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 17 times in a row." -- post-match conference after beating Jimmy Connors after Connors had beaten him 16 times in a row..........so that was a case of 17 times lucky!

  • @Isleofskye haha fair enough

  • @petergormley1

Yes, Peter it was a funny quote from Vitas!

Actually I was only joking M8!

I love Ricky's humour but I have never seen him live.

I read once on the Internet about a Guy who said he went to see a Comedian many times but did not find him funny so I plagirised that line from that Guy as, I too, thought it hilariously weird !:)

  • @Isleofskye Your an idiot for going 17 times if you don't like him

  • @Wardogz1z .....and you are an even greater idiot for firstly not understanding English "irony" ad secondly not understanding the earlier comment by me

"Actually I was only joking M8!

I love Ricky's humour but I have never seen him live "

What part of that sentence did you not understand? lol

  • The leg swing... the fucking leg swing hahaha

  • oh this is unbearable! imagine being in that room

  • They should bring this series back. Or merge it with The (US) Office when Steve Carell leaves.... :D

  • Those last few moments, when he has that look of resignation....amazing, truly, after such a monumental error. From extreme cringe to pity so swiftly.

  • For fuck's sake, why is every single 'Office' clip, without exception, spammed with pea-brained kids shouting insults at each other about which version is better. If only you realised how much other people pity and despise your pathetic attempts to understand even the most basic concepts of comedy, debate, or in most cases even basic grammar... A group of lobotomised chimpanzees randomly hitting a keyboard would provide a more interesting and insightful discussion about it than you cunts.

  • @kylolad98 i love you, man! you put my thoughts down better than i could have.

  • @kylolad98 obnoxious pricks like you usually go senile before us dull fuckers - is that interesting enough??.

  • @kylolad98

its only americans who talk shit about which one is better

  • @kylolad98 I agree. Both are good. Youtube is full of people who love to argue sadly.

  • fucking brilliant, both offices are really good in their own ways, shutup and stop arguing, weins.

  • im not dissing this one but i just dont get this one so i like the american one better

  • @ChippyWalli how can you not get it? thats what too much everybody loves raymond does to you...

  • @ScreamingTamrin idk i just dont....and what does everybody loves raymond have to do with me not getting it?

  • Oh no, poor David.

  • Can someone with a better understanding of the british language please explain the joke "I've never come over a little queer"? A double entendre here, I guess, but what is the other meaning? Can "come over" mean "come across as"/"appear" or what does he mean here?

  • @andreasdrg "i've never come over a little queer" = "i've never ejaculated semen over a homosexual man of small stature"

  • @mahlstadt Yes, I got that meaning :). But is that all, isn't it a double entendre, so what's the other meaning? :)

  • @andreasdrg oh. it also means "i've never been perceived by others to be gay"

  • @andreasdrg you were correct! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @mahlstadt Haha, that's great! That makes the joke a candidate for one of the funniest jokes I've ever heard. The one quite timid meaning versus the wildly vulgar other meaning with accompanying hand gesture and all. Also, "little queer" turning from meaning "a bit queer" to "a small homosexual man". Good stuff! :D.

  • @andreasdrg and the audience's silence adds to the humour

  • @andreasdrg

Sorry I'm 2 months late but "coming over a little queer" also means beginning to feel unwell!!

  • @Isleofskye Alright, thanks!

  • @bshallop The American version had to be dumbed down to cater for the American audience. It's completely understandable that you dislike the critically acclaimed original; the humour isn't loud and ridiculous enough for you to appreciate it.

  • @bshallop ..Its only horrible to you because you don't get it.

  • He is good. This show is good. Way to go Ricky Gervais.

  • He should have done some stuff on 'the w@*nking claw' lol

  • Classic comedy.

  • lol at the end..

    "uhmm thank..thanks david?"

    "Uhh?"

    "Thanks."

    "Whatevah.."

    cringe worthy performance..."innit gareth?"

  • He's so humiliated and angry at the end. Just a broken failure of a man.

  • Neil is just a by-the-book guy, Brent is a chump. Unlike Michael Scott, Brent has no redeeming qualities.

  • neil tries to hide his face behind ricky throughout the scene because he's struggling to hold back the laughter haha.

i do not believe you wanted to do that....only me!

  • How the staff deliberately not laugh is in effort in itself, I would have tears running down my face, and if you look at Neil in the background, he & Jennifer are pissing themselves.

  • lmao i would have laghed at everything, swindon lot are pricks

  • Love the way Brent says he'd never pick on Hitchmo's withered hand, then Gareth goes and drops him in it!

  • Love it when Brent mentions how he would'nt joke about Hitchmo's withered hand, then Gareth drops him in it!

  • haha 0:46 ....ask them

  • Afternoon gigs are always the worst. Don't think Neil warmed him up too well.

  • I''ve never come over a little queer!

  • awkward moments are always funny!!!

  • Anyone else notice him pull the same face as he uses when hes playing his character as andy millman in extras!

  • the person playing tim is SO MUCH BETTER an actor than the idiot playing jim on the US version

  • classic

  • So incredibly awkward. Genius comedy though. Greatest comedy show ever.

  • This is lame I can't even understand what he's try to say.. Nowonder it got cancelled

  • @Outlaw2308 Didn't get cancelled you fool, they ended it. They didn't want to milk it out like your shitty american version

  • @SwedishBlacks Our shitty American version, was the original.

  • @Asummervlogging The american version wasn't the original obviously, and although the US version isn't bad it just doesn't compare to this comedic masterpiece

  • @Asummervlogging The American version wasn't the original.

  • @Asummervlogging No it wasn't retard, nothing good ever comes out of that country.

  • @handsworth101

I know already,I've been told by many people.

America is not liked by many people, but hey at least we dont go around calling people retards.

    =]

  • @Asummervlogging fair play kida

  • @handsworth101 Good point nothing good comes out of America only crap like the computer, the internet, the light bulb, etc. Ricky Gervais' biggest influences for this show were Spinal Tap and The Larry Sanders Show, both from America. Nobody in America thinks that the American version of the Office is better than this, however shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm are funnier than anything on British TV. I love Ricky Gervais but I hate British people like you ie bitter anti-American losers

  • @EchoCannon89 People in america do think their version of the office is better, which is why i wrote the comment in the first place; i don't care what shows you like, but thanks for sharing anyway. Fuck off.

  • @EchoCannon89 Boring now innit?Anti-American stuff on every English comedy video which you feel obliged to mention Larry Sanders, CYE and Spinal Tap. Both countries have produced about the same amount of brilliant stuff, I suppose considering England has about six times less people it is all the more impressive. It's a bit much, though, to just say CYE is funnier than anything here; I laugh more at I'm Alan Partridge. If you comment again on these people slating US comedy just say 'dinnerladies'.

  • @EchoCannon89. American one is funnier in that woudl will laugh harder. UK one is more clever and more cringy. Both awesome shows. That is a fair judgement I would say.

  • @SwedishBlacks look buddy the bottomline is that if you grew up watching this version than thats fine cuz it is funny and if you grew up, like me, watching the american one than thats fine too cuz thats also funny. it didn't get milked over here, its just that we chose to keep it going cuz its a success so why stop it

  • @Outlaw2308 lame lol this is probably the best comedy ever made, and dnt be silly it didn't get cancelled they just decided to end it before it got stale, unlike all these yankie comedies that just go on for years and are only amusing to people with IQ's lower than 90.

  • genius , pure genius .we will all be watching this in 30 - 40 yrs time . he has done his faulty towers.i like the way he dosn't creep like all the other 'stars' . extras is brilliant as well .this will be as popular as anything great that has gone before it , morecombe and wise , faulty towers , gone with the wind etc , great escape . mark my words we will be watching this at xmas in 40 yrs time.looks easy but u try it .cheers brenty

  • c;lassic LOL

  • Comment removed

  • thanks David .. wha? Thanks .. whatever

  • it must be awkward even filming this stuff... so well observed and acted for maximum uncomftableness...!!! Ace ace ace

  • Oh my god I love the printer drone in the background during the awkward silence! Brilliant.

  • SWINDON TOWN ARE GOING UP E I E I O !!!

  • so blissfully painful to watch. super!

  • 'I've never cum over a little queer'

  • Quite frankly - the funniest TV show ever made.

  • i wonder if they reallywere cracking up?

  • Apart from Gervais's tour de force here, Tim's "oooh" and pained expression is brilliant.

Encapsulating exactly how the viewers feel.

  • Could be the funniest scene of the funniest comedy series ever.

  • Comment removed

  • The comedy here is so sharp.

David's pious "nothing vicious" followed 2 minutes later by Gareth' showing him up about the very same thing- "yeah you do, the wanking claw..." is just why this comedy is so good.

"He's putting me off" and "that's part of it" are great lines.

  • Don`t be nervous , keep it short and bring me on and enjoy the show, ha ha. I love when David eventually sits down deflated and neil says thanks very much David, and brent says huh, it is so cringing, comedy gold,

  • Its brillaint how excited he is at the beggining, "take a chair..not literally"

    simply amazing!!!

  • David Brent is the hottest guy ever! not

     and also the fattest

  • I do not believe you wanted to do that! Only me!

  • Chaplin can make you laugh and cry. Ricky Gervais hits that note with cringe thrown in for good measure. Brent is a brilliant comic character because he is so real.

  • What I love is David showing off to the camera saying he doesn't mention the wanking claw, like he doesn't want to be seen as out of order. Yet a few scenes later Gareth says he likes that one joke David does so obviously Brent does do it and speak about it haha

  • lol ..best comedy every ,,,,

  • so jokes

  • I only see embarrassment in that.

  • that's the whole point !

  • David Brent is hot

  • 2:10-2:20

  • Genius

  • The Swindon lot are wankers.

  • "...i prefer the stuff you do about his little hand"

"i don't do stuff about his little hand"

"yeah you do, the wanking cloth"

    classic!

  • Wanking CLAW

  • lol thanks

  • Love the bit when he starts doing that walk, hilarious.

  • you try something and thats..

  • love it!! but i always wondered, whats the beirut joke about?

  • @alfredosauce1

Sorry I'm 10 months late but the "Beirut" joke was that Slough is a horrible slum of a Town, one of the least attractive in England so Neil says compared to Beirut ( mostly full of terrorism and rubble and broken buildings ) it is an improvement!

  • some of his jokes were actually quite funny..but it was more funny watching him bomb out...lol

  • ouch, that hurt.

  • The thing i find silly about this scene is that they all laugh at Neil who is not funny and very smarmy. At least Brent is unintentionally funny, i know who i'd be laughing at.

  • Check out the woman behind Brent stifle a potentially HUGE laugh after his Basil Fawlty walk.

  • Yes i saw that- i do think she may be laughing alright.

It's amazing the others can keep so stony-faced tbh.

  • Painful....

  • wanking claw..LMAO

  • "I don't agree with that in the work place!"

    This is crazy funny!

I can't stop playing that bit over and over...

  • LOL he tries not to laugh at 4:41 up til he sits down haha

  • if you were there u wud b laughing ur head off whats wrong with those people

  • What is Neil saying at 1:26?

"for those of you who DO know me, keepshtun." Is it German or something?

    Also, who is Harry Enfield?

  • He's saying 'keep schtum', which means keep quiet. Stumm is the German word for silent.

  • Thank you !

  • It's "Keep schtum" which means 'Don't say anything' or 'Keep quiet'.

  • Thank you.

  • "Keep shtum" means to "be quiet", not sure of it's origins, but it's fairly widely used in the UK.

Harry Enfield was/is a comedian who did a lot of sketch shows on British TV with Paul Whitehouse.

  • Thank you.

  • It is a corruption of the german phrase "stumm" which means keep quiet.

  • lol thanks

  • fuck you you filthy whore

  • Stone, did that make you feel better? Ranting? It's interesting that you bring in so many other of your grips. We're talking about a TV show here. You're as viscious as these two characters. I think if I were you, I'd not patronize America in any way, to be a really good hater. Why don't you start with not using American sites? Like You Tube. As a sad, hated American, I would really like you to start there! Thanks. :)

  • Try not to confuse ranting with stating facts.

  • this is brilliant ! the way the original version is so subtle is great. i love how garath mentions the 'wanking claw' after david mentions about it earlier. the Harry enfield face is also brilliant.

  • Yep, that's what makes this comedy gold- not just the funny stuff, it's how it's put together so beautifully to give the punchlines maximum effect.

  • 4:20 lmao absolutely nothing to do with harry enfield

  • Ohh that line "I can honestly say I've never come over a little queer" was classic, duno why they didn't laugh?

  • I DID!

  • the best part of this scene is when he sits down, the expressoin on his face and his body language say so much..... its a great piece of acting.... fantastic.

  • It would be nice If Americans stopped copying English shows and It would be nicer still If Americans stopped taking a swipe at the English afterward. Your already the most hated nation on earth and with your nose diving economy and crap health care perhaps you should concentrate on your own problems:)

  • we prefer to pretend there are no problems by covering them with patriotism.

  • Yes, well, being the most hated country comes with the territory of being the most powerful country.

  • Shame you don't use your 'power' In a positive way Instead of blowing up countries and government shitting on their own people.

  • whats the episode where the blonde woman goes back to the man shes always liked? (when there in that club at the end)

  • That's the Christmas Special Part 2.

  • lol turn the phone off.. otherwise you won't be able to hear david brents funny jokes which he needs everybody to hear.. lol

  • oop ladies first so....

  • Tim's reaction at 2:56 is hilarious

  • I think our Michael is worse. Both blame everyone else for their lack of talent. Neither have any. This guy is pretty good though. Absolutely believes in himself like Michael.

  • LOL turn the .. phone off

  • Just wondering - what is that harry enfield he tries to emulate? What sketch is that from or whatever, and is it on youtube?

  • yeah its one of the characters from his show & thers a few of the clips on yutube. type in Only Me! Harry Enfield

  • 4.55 - 5.16. my stomach muscles were killin me, i couldnt breath i wuz laughin too much! brents facial expressions and his look of discomford is really special actin and directing. the brilliant thing about this program is the small details that goes in2 this program. i have never seen the american version so cant comment on whether it is any good or not.

  • Totally agree with that. Although I was so much laughing but was more feeling Brent's pain. Humiliation is one of the most tragc of human experiences.

  • gareth drops him in it there didnt he!haha!

  • Anybody know if the scene with David and the Swindon lot having a lunchtime drink has been uploaded? That's just as torturous.

  • We've all been there. Some dickhead at work or down the pub fancies himself as an impressionist and you don't know where to look. I'm sat here and I'm embarrassed - literally.

  • Wow, this is the best series ever on TV, to me. The American version is nothing compared to the original. As a matter of fact, I tried to see the American and could not take it at all. No magic! No originality. But the only true Office is...I have no words, except to repeat: I have never seen any other comedy as good as this one.
