To put my comments in context...I am an Australian who, when in my military,was deployed to Mozambique before the floods of 2000 to assist in the UN Accelerated De-mining Program....we were still cleaning up after the war.

Truthfully, I fell in love with a Mozambican lady, and thereafter her family and the people and places of Mozambique.

In my view, the top issues for Mozambique are governance, corruption, education, public health, and resource extraction.

Let me answer your shit comment, we didn't run, the portuguese revolution of '74 put the communists in charge, with the same communist ideals of your FRELIMO. That shit government pulled military support for both Angola and Mozambique which left the colonialists to fend for themselves after all personal weapons were made illegal. I'm Mozambican and extremely proud of my country not just for it's beauty but also the history, culture, food, people, amazing beaches... this list can go on and on. Basically it's a place that is definitely worth visiting. I personally try to go every couple of years and I find extremely good for the soul.
