  • Holly is an inspiration. I'm so glad that she stood up and fought Bob Barker and won.

In my opinion The Price Is Right went downhill after Bob Barker fired Holly, and it just kept going downhill until I didn't bother to watch it anymore. I watch it now with Drew Carrey and in my opinion it's good again.

  • holly I still love you and would pamper you in those sexy nude pantyhose to this day

  • Holly deserved to win that lawsuit.

She should've taken every penny Barker had for all of the terrifiying hell he put her through.

    YOU GO, HOLLY !!!

  • @YesYou123333 What a hateful thing to print about someone! Very un-Christian ;)

What a hateful hate-filled person you must be to say such a thing. Shame on you.

  • I like Bob, but I love Holly. She made the show special.

  • She ended up getting millions of undeserved money after viciously slandering Bob Barker. There is no such thing as discrimitation in private business. That's what's wrong with society is they take rights away from hard working businessmen and give unjust laws to crying, lazy, worthless people. I guess the weight was wrong, bitch. Hey send a memo to Holly, you're pathetic!

  • @6yearcoma Holly didn't sue Bob Barker, he sued her and lost (Barker v. Hallstrom LA Superior Court). Barker sued Holly and lost and she got millions. If you want to blame someone for frivolous lawsuits, blame Bob Barker, he filed it.

Afterward Barker fired 5 long-time employees who had testified truthfully which tanked his bogus lawsuit against Holly. Nice boss huh? Businessmen like him are who society (and employees!) need protection from.

PS. Barker lost those lawsuits too.

  • @6yearcoma

What's really wrong with society is asshole businessmen who think they're God and can get away with treating their employees like pieces of shit. People like yourself are also part of the problem because you worship these crooked bastards simply because they're rich. They already have a sense of entitlement without people like you feeding their ego. The "little people" like Holly deserve recourse from sleazy cons like Barker.

  • Shame on you!!!! Bob Barker is a man of integrity and high morale!! No, I'm just kidding.

  • Barker is a fucking brainless moron for firing her, and then acting like she never existed.

I will not watch any TPIR hosted by Barker (not even for free), until Bob "Age is anything but a number" Barker grows a brain and apologizes.

  • I'm glad that these women got some justice as it is terrible that our legal system rewards the one who can pay to drag it all out the longest. I have no doubts that Barker is an SOB at times and treated all women horrible. I doubt at all that race played any part in his actions as the women were treated crappy and if race played a part, then Barker would have never hired them so I think that the race card being played is just BS and just piling on, but European Americans are all used that crap.

  • @saints093 ah a chubby chaser huh, hey loser, she's not going to read your post and fall in love with you, so you're only telling the world what a pathetic shut in you are.

  • This is why I've grone to like Drew Carey. Yes, he'll never be able to fill Bob's shoes, but at least he treats all the contestants equally, has never made the show all about him, has no interest in controlling the show, treats his fello staff members with dignity and respect and last I knew, there hasn't been a single scandall during his tenure as host directly involving him.

Meanwhile, all the scandalls and lawsutes against Bob are why his legacy can never be fully celebrated.

  • @DorvellTStewart Drew has made it no secret that his idol was the original host of "The Price is Right," Bill Cullen. On an April Fools show, the studio for one day was renamed "The Bill Cullen Studio." In many ways, Drew has brought the Cullen legacy back to TPIR; note that after one season, the introduction was changed from the "star of 'The Price is Right'" to the old "Here is your host..." (Cullen always felt uncomfortable being called the "star" of the show).

  • For those who loved Bob Barker, you only know him as the host, his one side who gave away cars, bedrooms, spas, etc. But you don't know him as a person, his other side! A pervert, racist son of a bitch who think of nothing but his ego! I used to love him, but after hearing this... wow! I would never thought Bob was hostile towards his employees! Thank God he's not hosting the show anymore!

  • All these events started with Dian Parkinson wanting to go into Playboy while she was in a relationship with Bob Barker. Bob didn't want Dian going into Playboy but she did anyway and Bob broke off the relationship, and then troubles started between him, Janice, Holly, and Kathleen. I'm still indeed a Bob Barker fan, but it is a shame that there was backstage drama though.

  • @RPSteve All the events started with Dian wanting to do Playboy & the network telling her no. So that's when & why she pursued Barker, and sure 'nuff after they started having sex Bob made a call on Dian's behalf and the next thing everyone knew Dian was posing nude in Playboy! (Barker broke up with her for a completely different and un-printable reason.)

  • I love you, Holly

  • When I first heard about this lawsuit, I was shocked! You know what concerns me? Imagine if any of the producers or even Rod would have anything to say about this. I wonder what would be Rod's response, maybe Roger Dobkowitz or even Kathy Greco's reaction to that would be. Though I am an ultimate Bob Barker fan, I would have to go with Holly on this one.

  • Always figured Barker wasn't the squeaky clean guy he portrayed.

  • I didn't know Bob Barker sued Holly, I thought she sued him. He's even a bigger creep than I thought and it's great that he lost his lawuit against her. I'm also glad he's gone form Price Is Right, he was old and borrrrring. Congratulations Holly, you earned it. I hope we see you again soon!

  • I am and always will be a Bob Barker fan. So poo on you Bob Barker haters. I went as Bob Barker for Halloween a couple years ago to a Halloween Party at a Bar and won 1st Prize! I'm not joking either.

  • The more I hear about the details of the lawsuits against Barker, the more I believe he was forced to retire. The many lawsuits against this man must have cost his bosses a fortune, so he had to go. Good move.

I'm sorry Holly went through 10 years of hell in the courts with this devious man, but I'm happy that she prevailed. I heard that even though she got a lot of money, she could have gotten even more if she had promised not to publicly say anything negative about Barker.

  • It's very, very hard for me to believe she was ever living out of her car. But it's much harder for me to believe Hallstrom's case had no merit. Barker was sued by basically the whole cast which is a real statement, especially given Barker's then popularity with the public. She sounds completely believable minus the living out of the car. I'm glad she won.

  • @GamrNrd I guess you have to be driven to put together a hit show and keep it on top, but it appears old Barker let power go to his head.

Not that I wouldn't have tried to get Dian myself. Lucky bastard.

  • I loved it when Holly, Dian, and Janice did the show. It's never really been the same since.

  • Holly still looks great after all these years!!!

  • Where is Holly Hallstrom from? Because it sounded like she was from someplace else.

  • Holly does look great. I sure miss her, Janice and Dian. They were the best three models during the entire run.

  • @storrs19 And Kathleen too.

  • I love Holly :)

  • Holly was always my favorite! In fact, I only watched The Price Is Right for Holly and for Plinko. =P

  • I remember in the 70s and 80s that corporations were making a last-ditch effort to swindle their way out of lawsuits before harassment protection was legalized.

  • that suxs she was broke after getting canned from tpir living in a car so sad but glad she won her case bob was a awesome host of tpir but damn he fucked up big time

  • Well I will say this:

I'm GLAD that Holly won her case and also, when Bob fired Janice and Kathleen, I started losing interest in TPIR and I didn't even watch Bob's 50 Years on TV or his Final Farewell, and plus, Bill Cullen, Dennis James and Tom Kennedy were all Class Acts and Tom is retired and plus, Doug Davidson, say what will about him, but @ least he treated his models like Class also and I don't care for Drew Carey, Tom Kennedy treated Janice, Dian and Holly like Class Thank GOD!!!

  • I wonder if when the judge told Bob he lost the case in court they played the losing horns?

  • Great title.

  • Barker didn't leave the Price is Right on his own.

He was forced out because of all the bad press from the building lawsuits.

  • @berezin99 i thought he flat out retired hmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Love Holly Hallstrom! Glad to see she finally won her lawsuit! She deserves it after what she had been put through during her final years on "The Price is Right". Best wishes to Holly in her future endeavors!

  • Wow... Holly was fired for refusing to lie for Bob? I just lost all respect for him. What a dickhead!

And Holly still looks good, even after all these years.

  • Hey--I think I've talked to her! I live in San Antonio, and someone who looked exactly like this woman was at a store where I was shopping. We joked around while waiting in line. If that was Holly, I'm going to die.

  • 99% of models have to start looking for a new career at age 25. 30 definitely. Barker"s Beauties kept their hig profile modeling gigs till they were in their 50s!!! Sorry, but I'm having a little trouble working up any sympathy for them.

  • @alexalex3131 What about Vanna White, who's still on "Wheel Of Fortune", and in her 50's? If she was fired for not lying about the boss in court, would you be thinking the same thing?

  • She looks better old and overweight than most models do when young and thin

  • @ZackTheGopher Agreed. She's still a hottie. :D

  • To see a model of the Price is Right set, google "Price is Right ontheset" and hit the I'm feeling lucky button.

  • Good for her! Bob is a sleaze ball. love the sho tho

  • Does anyone know if she ever set up this foundation she was talking about?

  • she looks good fro being a vegetarian

  • I think it is swell that Holly is helping folks who get fired because they don't lie for their boss. And dragging it for TEN years? This is BS. It does NOT take ten years to settle this kinda lawsuit. One, two, maybe, but ten? Naw, they're just trying to get the person to give up.

Congrats Holly! Bob Barker may not have lost a penny, but I think the higher-ups deserve to foot the bill for simply ignoring the problem and pushing it for so long.

  • holly was always my favorite, i miss her :(

  • I agree. I think with the lawsuits piling up against Barker, he was forced out.

  • Ann Curry is hot as hell!

  • There's no denying Bob Barker's TV legacy, but he was obviously an irrational, inconsiderate, and dictative human being to work for! When Dian Parkinson sued, she herself admitted it was for money alone, but all the rest of the models were sued for wrongful termination.

  • What does that guy say at 1:35?

  • SPAY AND NEUTER BOB BARKER!

  • Too bad Holly was only two-years old when the original TPIR with Bill Cullen debuted from New York. That version would have been perfect for Holly; a classy host with a classy lady and classy producer/creator Bob Stewart. She would have had a ball with some of those wacky bonus prizes on the original show. Could you imagine her with a Shetland pony with chariot or a BMW Izeta (a.k.a., the Urkel car), or driving on-stage in a Ferrari, or guiding one of the elephants?

  • She may have put on a little weight, but she is still so cute. I would like to meet her.

    Ann Curry is hot also.

  • Damn Morals in Hollywood !

Great Standup Convictions on her part around Money Power Rats !

     Hope she's doing Great.

  • I'm surprised Holly has put on some weight. Did Barker see into the future or something? She looked pretty good in 95 so it was rather foolish of him to get rid of her.

  • Holly Hallstrom's weight had f@#$ all to do with her firing;she refused to lie for him in court!

  • I remember watching Holly when I was growing up. She was always my favorite beauty. Honestly can't remember the names of any of the other ones besides her. I'd still love to meet her some day. :-)

  • @JonnyCrash Janice Pennington, Dian Parkinson, and Kathleen Bradley were on the show when Holly was.

  • Holly, good for you. Beauty and brains. It's nice to see that beautiful people are also good people. By the way, you still look great. When you were living in your car you could've lived with me.

  • Bob was a good host, but not an honest man. He engineered her firing, and it was bullshit.

  • Bob Barker - Good host, Horrible human being.

What he did to Dian, Janice, Kathleen, and especially Holly, as well as former production assistants Sharon Friem, Sherrell Paris and Linda Regiert as well as even Rod Roddy (yes, shortly before he died Barker treated him like crap) was atrocious!

  • So what shes 30lbs heaviers,I dont care, she still looks good.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, the LOSER man!!!!

  • Nope, Holly was telling the truth all along, Bob lied, and he LOST!

  • I doubt any of the women Bob Barker treated so badly would watch any show he was on. They were probably too busy counting the money he had to pay them all!

  • No gpxo, Time has proven that "obviously YOU don't know the history of this lawsuit"!

  • Learn the facts....you asberger asshole.

  • What a beautiful lady. I'm so glad she won against this creep. My cousin went to see the Price Is Right and afterward they went to a coffee shop and ran into some people who were also at the taping and they all said what a jerk Bob Baker was when the camera turned off! After watching the ETHS I'm glad they fired him! Way to go Holly, you rock!

  • That will happen when hell freezes over!

  • no, she was borderline crying, thats why she was stutering and had a "Glazed" look.

  • No zorob1, Holly doesn't look like she hit the bottle, but YOU DO!

  • she sounds too like she was drinking before this interview

  • prettiestbitch1111, no she doesn't, but gees, you do!

  • Rub a lamp. It's never gonna happen.

  • Barker was part of a generation where men got away with crap like this.

  • I've read that Barker was forced to retire due to all the lawsuits. Who really knows?

  • he was "forced to retire" cause he was 83

  • He was forced to retire cause the continuous stream of lawsuits against him was costing the network and show too much money. His heath was (and is to this day) great, and at 83 he was an institution and still a big draw to the show. No, is wasn't age, he became too expensive to keep around!

  • She doesn't look too bad. Wonder what she's doing today since this was filmed in 2005. She's a very intellectual woman & she did the right thing by refusing to lie for Barker about Dian. Janice Pennington probably did it instead b/c she wasn't all that. I can see why the fans miss Holly so much. I'm glad that someone cleaned Barker's clock. Maybe that's why he finally hung it up as host of TPIR. Now maybe people will realize what a bastard that guy really was to the women.

  • she looks ok

  • Janice did it -which most of it was probably the truth-to Dian because Dian was plotting to get her fired after she had her camera accident in 1988.

  • So what you're saying is that Dian & Janice didn't get along whereas Janice had nothing to do w/Holly's firing? Still I think Holly was a heckuva lot hotter than Janice & Dian both. Holly seemed to have a hold on her fans & possibly vice versa.

  • She still looks good, but then I like chubby older women.

  • Holly still is beautiful. I have always been a Holly han and still am. lol

  • Bob Barker...great game show host...Great toward getting Cats and Dogs spade or nuetered....VERY BAD as a human being.

  • she had soo many bloopers on the price is right

  • My uncle loved Holly in the late 70's until his death. He loved Holly and she was a spark to the group. Perky redhead

  • i'd like to see what Dian looks like today. anyone have any idea?

  • Her suit was resolved, it was from LIBAL AND SLANDER

  • That was Bob's suit against Holly for libel and slander. He lost BTW.

  • She still looks good.

  • But her "weight" had nothing to do with her firing. She refused to lie for Barker in the Barker-Parkinson lawsuit, so he fired her. A few years later, Janice Pennington refused to lie for Barker in the Barker-Hallstrom lawsuit, so goodbye Janice. You don't lie for him, he fires you. Barker Sucks!

  • I don't know if you read Barker's Priceless Memories bio,but not one of the models were mentioned by name.As a matter of fact,Rod Roddy's name was mentioned only once!

  • Every accomodation? Like what? And more importantly when?

  • Comment removed

  • Holly Hallstrom, what a wonderful human being. =]

  • I hear she now lives in San Antonio, Texas.

  • She still has the beautiful looks, lovely eyes and that wonderful smile even up to this day!

  • Holly!!!

  • Weight gain or not, she's still a knockout.

  • I just have to say Congratulations, Holly! Personally, ever since the E! T.H.S., I couldn't believe what I was hearing, especially having to find out why Claudia Jordan left TPIR in late 2003! Let me tell you this, ever since he was still hosting the show until his retirement last year, I have been watching the show just to see the doors. I know that sounds ackward, but it's true!

  • Actually you don't know the history because why would she go off on the press circuit if Bob didn't release something slanderous. If he didn't do that, why did he lose that case on the slander and had to pay Holly's legal fees.

Maybe because he was slanderous in his actions. Because if she gained weight, that's not an issue because she could be cast in different roles, however if she is labeled as difficult to work with then she can't get work.

  • Why would she need to slander Bob unless provoked, such as through a number of tabloids before Holly can say anything with Bob stating "she was fired due to being bad tempered, very difficult to get along with staff and crew compared to another model Janice." When later accounts in the '99 testimony-one by Janice herself- backed up Holly's claims. As much as I love him as a great host and MC for the TPIR and his stance as an Animal lover and Animal rights, he can't not be left blameless here.

  • She was my favorite red hair with blue eyes. She was born in the same town as me San Antonio,Texas.

  • Listen to it again. He set up interviews for her to do and she was to claim that he was telling the truth and the other party (Dian) wasn't. She didn't want to get involved. So, he fired her under the pretext of a "weight gain". Look at some of the YouTube videos of her on the show from 1995 (her last year). Weight gain??? You gotta be kidding me. BTW, none of the models ever had contracts.

  • That's odd! Unless you're referring to the models of the time, it sounds to me like Bob Barker wasn't interested in those Models!

  • None of them? Now, that sounds a somewhat stingy!

  • He fired her because she wouldn't lie for him. Listen again, it's pretty clear.

  • Why?

  • He's probably jealous

  • Holly will ALWAYS be the best model they ever had.

  • she was beautiful then, and she is a stunner now as far as I am concerned! AND she is eloquent as well.

  • Holly is by far the BEST beauty in TPIR history. She has natural beauty and needs to be brought back to keep going on in the Drew era!!!! I LOVE YOU HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLY!!!!!

  • She's also a natural klutz :)

  • Perverts who get caught will usually coerce witnesses to deny their sick actions. Well, Bob Barker got what he deserved if this is the case.

  • Holly is the most beautiful TPIR model past or present. Her mishaps on the show make her that much more lovable and delightful. I'm sorry she had to go through her ordeal. I hope she will pick herself up, smile and keep going the way she did on the show.

  • Me too. Where I lived, TPIR came at the same time as Sesame Street as a kid. Guess which show I watched at that time? LOL

  • ATTENTION ALL UNITS: suspect Holly Hallstrom last seen in San Antonio, TX. Guard ALL major roads and CAPTURE the suspect.

  • Holly... you are and always will be my favorite TPIR gal! I'm very happy you won your lawsuit! I hope someday you can come back and do a guest host on the show - I know the ratings would be off the chart!

  • Tell it like it is, Holly!

  • That is the central reason why he had to "retire" because the legal fees would have cost so much for Fremantle and it would hurt the show in the long run.

  • Comment removed

  • FremantleMedia did not force Bob retire. Bob retire on his own terms saying to himself that I done this for 35 years and I know I can contiue but, should or not and then he said I am steping down and I want someone else do the show. So to let you know the company that owns TPIR and CBS did not force Bob to retire it was his desision.

  • Here's the smoking gun to that. On Oct. 31, 2006 he signed another contract to continue hosting TPIR, then all of a sudden he wants to retire? That doesn't add up.

  • Too many people say Bob was forced to retire. After this video and all the lawsuits against him I believe it. Good riddence to bad Bob!

  • Bob was Executive Producer of the show. It was his call. Everything on that show (since the 90's) was his final call.

  • Actually he was promoted to EP in 1986 when he got Mark Goodson to fire original "TPIR" director Marc Breslow.
