That's actually been shown to be untrue. The giving out of condoms at a young age to any child has actually proven to increase sexual relations, as they are pretty much encouraged 'go ahead, do what ever you want with no consequences! just use one of these!' In truth, the scare of pregnancies and/or STDs would scare off people enough in itself, but because they are given a sexual license a lot of of these things occur because they think they are bullet proof.

Also, since the birth control pill, there has been more adultery outside of marriages. Why is this? The pill gives off the psychological myth of the sexual license. Ppl do not value their own or others sexuality anymore; they can do what they want and get away with more. Because of this mind-set (which bc has helped play a role in) there are more divorces than ever. It encourages that 'I do what I want!' attitude.

When a person chooses to have sex is a personal choice that only they can make, not their parents or anyone else. Some people wait until they get married, but most do not. 95% of Americans don't. Some people wait until they are a specific age, or when they feel they have fallen in love. Some just wait 'til their first date.

Comprehensive sex ed. does teach about abstaining from sex, but teaches about contraceptives too.
