iRiver H300 Exposed

hi my friend I have a Iriver H320 with 20gb. And my battery doesn´t live more than 3 or 4 days in stand by...(Well I turn off)

When i charge my battery the service is good, I can record 8 or 10 hours but if i charge Iriver and dont use the battery fall down in a few days.

Is normal this situation... Can I change the battery for another?

yes, if you change the battery it will help fix the proble. there are plenty of guides out there. I used the guide on "mysticriver" to replace mine.

Download iriverter to put videos on these with ease get the japanes firmware to play video or korean the have english support both of mine have 1.29j om them. american owners should not do the update as i think the internals of the player are diffrent .

I have the US version and flashed it with the Japanese firmware 1.29j with no problems. Even after all these years, I'm still using this player!

interesting! it's good to know that you can switch the batteries that easy... i have a h320 (korean firmware + rockbox)and just love it - maybe an ipod looks a bit cooler but if you take a look at the features and cost-performance ratio apple's hardware doesn't stand a chance against the h300-series.

Nope, it ran perfectly fine. I opened up the player, took out the old batteries, and connected the AC adapter and it worked -- so that's when I knew the old batteries died and the player itself was fine. Do you have an iRiver? iRiver used to be ahead of the game, but lately, they're just more into the design than the features.

Have a PMC-120. I love it. Whenver it gets screwed uip (which happens occassionally), just pull the battery off and put it back on. I love the screen size and ability to play movies. Wish they'd one with a bigger HDD, though.

Did you know iRiver America is having a clearance sale for PMC batteries for just $9? Of course, their shipping fees are ridiculous like usual. I have the PMP-120 (the first one). Do you think you can make a video of the PMC in action? I want to compare with the PMP version. I'm sure you could swap the drives, but they're quite expensive.
