Lady in red? What an inappropriate song, not all girls are wearing red, so the song is only intended for those who wore red gowns. All girls are in Filipiana, why of all the song they chose Lady in red it should have been an OPM? or maybe kundiman, it may appear too old fashioned but at least appropriate. "Lady in Red" was chosen because there was one lady in red-the winner. I do not recall hime singing of the "ladies"(plural), in red. Although, "Lady in Red" is not OPM, American music is an integral part of popular culture in the Philippines. For example, a Filipino party without a karaoke machine that does not have Chicago, Whitney Houston, or Elvis Presley would not be complete. Mikey Bustos is a symbol of Filipino musical influence not only in the Philippines and Canada, but worldwide.
