Peter asks if he had intellectual impetuses for his actions then, and all Hitchens replies with is mature anecdotes about Bob Dylan songs -- anecdotes he may have concocted later in life, and probably did. Wish he had been more honest. Just saying....

sorry i hate it when ppl get all angry about illegitimacy, there's nothing wrong with it. what the world really needs to do is get rid of all these stupid social constructs that it has in place- 'deserts', the idea that some things that affect absolutely no-one else, like illegal drugs, can have something inherently immoral about them. come on people, keep what you've got that's good but start anew, and do whatever the fuck you like!!!

The real problem with "sex, drugs, and rock n' roll" as portrayed by Mr. Hitchens is the same with EVERY perversion of a natural desire, namely, more ISN'T more, it's just more. Are you having better sex when you have a different party nightly, or just more of it? Having experienced both sides of the "ledger", I submit that less (and better!) is more. Funny how mostly males are in favor of SD&RR.

Those numbers are high, but in comparison to what? Compare them to say Canada and they're higher than Canadas numbers are, yet Canada is more liberal on questions like Marijuana.

It's like pointing at the deficit when Obama took office saying "AHA! The Democrats aren't good at fiscal matters". (Something many followers of the bastardization of Buckleys already despicable form of conservatism argue)

The numbers are high in comparison to the divorce and abortion rates pre-1960's, which confirms left-wing policies are to blame. The problems are almost as bad in Canada, so what is the point saying Canada is better? They too have suffered terrible problems since the 60's
