Bethesda actually planned on making a sequel called The Eye of Argonia. However the game was shelved for Morrowind. I for one would love to see more Elder Scrolls spin-offs. The universe being deep enough as it is, Bethesda could branch out into more genres.
By the way, Eye of Argonia was to be set in Black Marsh which is another reason I want to see the game revisited. The various southern provinces haven't been explored since Arena.
@Saunga525 That's the dragon crest of talos aka tiber septim, the founder of the empire; thus making that the flag of the empire, which in the third era (skyrim's setting) consists of only cyrodil, high rock, and skyrim
@Saunga525 After the great war and the signing of the white-gold concordat, talos worship was banned. The redguards rebelled and were allowed to leave the empire, subsequently the talmor attacked hammerfell but were fought to a standstill. Morrowind has been invaded by the argonians (who rebelled after the great war) and the khajit lands of elswhyr also rebelled from the empire and are now acting as a client state of the thalmor i beleive
@CorRomeister After the great war the empire was weakened quite substancially, and the black marsh region rebelled and gained indapendence. After that they invaded morrowind, which was still pretty fucked up from when the red mountain erupted, as well as the great war. (they may have been acting on behalf of the thalmor, i'm not sure)
@CorRomeister Black Marsh borders Morrowind to the south. For generations, the Dunmer captured and enslaved entire Argonian tribes and turned them into slaves. After Black Marsh seceded from the empire, they realized that nothing was holding them back from exacting revenge for the elves' ruthlessness, so they stormed the capital city of Vardenfell and demolished almost all that was left of the Dunmer civilization in Morrowind.
@smuck06 Oh, so creatures still live in those provinces? i got scared for a second thinking that everyone in those provinces became extinct or something.
@Saunga525 Nah none of the provinces have been wiped out or anything, although vvardenfell (the island in the middle of morrowind) was decimated after vivic left and the ministry of truth smashed into the island causing the red mountain to erupt again
@TheDarkKnightBegins2 The airships belonged to the dwemer (dwarves). But when they mysteriously vanished, so did their technology. I think, in this case, the airship is just a one time thing in the lore and was never used again since there was only one in existence.
@BigBuddha2012 Well they did become good because they gave Redguards autonomy for Redguards at the end of the game. Tiber Septim met with the rebel leaders for fair rule idea instead of counter attack.
@badmangod This takes place 400 or so years before the events that encompass the lifetime of Urial Septime VII ( Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and finally his death in Oblivion.) Who knows what technology has been lost and found in such a huge span of time.
@badmangod they lost this technology when yokuda sunk into the ocean. and i think that it is dwemer tech not theirs. im pretty sure this game takes place before the exticntion of the dwemer
@badmangod they had flying ships in morrowind and much much more technology like robots and stuff. although the robots try to kill you...and usualy do..dang robots
I think the gameplay was a bit shoddy here and there, but man, the story for this game was awesome. This scene particularly shows how masterfully it was done, a little thing, like at 1:16 where the Dark Elf, Dram, is getting ready to slit Cyrus' throat, and the camera pans, making the viewer think--if only for a split second--that he was really doing it!
And was there anything more satisfying than seeing that sword cut Dram down the middle?
Surprisingly bloody endings for the villains for a T rated game, even if they are fleeting. Does anybody else think that Dram's demise resembles the way Tim Roth got killed by Liam Neeson in "Rob Roy"?
@kalleskit No they weren't... part of the commercial failure of the game was the inferior, obsolete graphics engine. But at least the shiny stuff looks really shiny, and the music's great.
