A Lot of variety shows want the artist to lypsync the songs. it's less hassle than hooking up all that audio equipment and taking it down for 1 song.

The artist wants their music to get heard so they do it.

On the old show American Bandstand performances were NEVER live.

I seen her doing this live without lypsyncing and she is ok,...so I don't have a problem with performers doing it from time to time, it's not a big deal.
