im seriously considering getting this rifle, but i cant decide whether to get the .177 or .22 version. Some say the .177 is better because it has a flatter trajectory and is more versatile as its good for hunting and target shooting, and others just say the .22 is more suitable for hunting...any advice?

@strathyman were hever you decide and you feel good with it ,it will work fine for you, you are going to find critics of the 177 or 22 if you like to be diferent go for .20 the god of bought worlds...lol ( i i'm a .22 , but i have a 177 to.) lol

@strathyman The .22 has more power obviously but the .177 has more penetration.  The .177 has a flatter trajectory but beyond 100 yards it does not matter any more since it has lost its power while the .22 is losing power and the .25 still has it. I figure maybe .177 is better if you want to shoot at birds high up in the trees while the .22 is better for shooting rabbit in the field. It depends what you want it for.

C'mon a 30 yard profile is not a difficult hit, yet you missed the head AND nerve receptors causing the jump and spasm. Clearly you don't know shooting or prey anatomy.

i think the cute bunny didnt like that. RIP bunny. So... now Clean and skin the bunny as usual,(you can reserve kidneys as garnish). Place in tray, whole and cover with bacon. Cook in moderate oven for about 15 mins. Meanwhile sweat sliced onions and crushed garlic in a pan until soft. Add sherry and reduce. When rabbits cooked, tear off as much meat as possible and add to pan with the bacon, choopped.

Throw in herbs, add a little water if neccesary and cream. Roll out defrosted pastry about 1/4 inch thick and eggwash. Place rabbit mix in suitable pie dish and top with pastry. Cook in moderate oven until pastry golden.

Pan fry kidneys in a little butter and serve as garnish.

went oput last nite and shot 6 rabbits in bout hour and half called a fox in to bout 30 yards but wind changed so he made a sharp exit. ther are hundreds of rabbits down here record iz 72 rabbits in 1 day and night shooting them with a shotgun over ferrets gd session. keep shooting and write bak.

1 thing you have to do is get to now your grond very well, to now what bourous they are using.

2 what abbits they have, are they go out mutch in day light or dusk?

you now rabbits have diferent life styls in diferents places, 3 be prepere to wait...

rabbits take about 20 a 30 minuts to came out after bean desturb...

i hoppe that informtion hellps

if not going out there you will find your hone ways...

in the uk, all you need for hunting with air rifle is the permition from the land oner...

My air rifle is a hw97kCentenary in .22

and if some day you think to come to uk will be a plesure to take you hunting scotish rabitts, on my permitions...

then my one they i wil go to denmark...:)
