i had never even heard of this woman until about five minutes ago. my immediate reaction is: jesus christ. this puts a lot of current alt-folk/singer-songwriter stuff to shame and doesn't sound even remotely dated. a little like a darker vashti bunyan, but different. music as an extension of the artist instead of a soulless product, with no commercial considerations or aspirations at all. imagine that.
i wish she was my mother, she would sing to me every night before kisses.
