That dude saying you were slower than Hetfield is just jealous. That was perfect. Metallica isn't even one of my favorite bands, but this solo is one of my all time favorites and you nailed it man. For real. Killed it. It gives me chills.
Its a little out of my league for now, but where did you get the tab? Ultimate-guitar seemed a little off, but then again it could be cause I'm not that good. Let me know if you could, and nice fucking work.
Not completely sure of some of these but I think the slow solo in To Live Is To Die, first Master of Puppets solo, Nothing Else Matters, the outro solo of The Outlaw Torn. He plays a lot of harmonizing guitar parts as well from the first 5 albums. Thats all I can think of right now.
if you wanna go really into it you can count the solo he played in whiplash on the live shit album. But he dose that when ever they play whiplash live.
Thanks for the comments. I'm not in a band unfortunately (never have been), but I'd love to find another guitarist, drummer and bassist with the same taste in music as me.
same with me.not alot of people know much about paul gilbert or kirk hammett.would love to find a drummer rhythm and bassist who do,and will play racer x and metallica.
ur ass(just kiddin). u got a a amp like mine i think,,, is that a marshall AVT100 of 100watt of power whit a AVT stage foot controller valvestate AVT2000??? if it is, its like mine,,, and how do u got the distortion like real music... i cant :S :S
BTW my guitar is a washburn dime V dimebag signature

~hi again, just to tell i post a vid of this song, its a really fat crap.. go check it out and leave ur mark.... can u do this solo whit a good sound whitout using a foot controller pedal??
I'm using a PodXT plugged in, so it might not sound exactly like your amp. But, I have the drive, and pretty much everything else at about 3 or 4 o clock. And i'm using the neck pickup
Yeah man, that was sweet. Definitely the best rendition I've seen so far, but it perfection to the original is what you were going for there was a couple of notes that weren't right, but still sounded in place. Either way, not dogging it since it was great.
It's a preset tone on my PodXT called Eruption. I checked the settings for that and everything is pretty much on full (drive, bass, middle, treble, presence). I'm using the neck pickup which is an EMG 81.
Can you tell me why it doesn't sound right? I'm not trying to be an ass, but I've listened to that song a million times, and I can't hear where I went wrong

It's a Marshall AVT100. But the sound you hear is a Line 6 Pod XT plugged into the FX loop. It bypasses the pre-amp.

Not all of it, a part of it is played by James only. On this video it's from 0:28-0:46, then they both play the last part.

Hey buddy, If you notice his notes are a 16th of a beat off, Hence the reason it's harmonized.
Listen to the song alone, it doesn't sound like that. Not to mention his slide.

Yep it is. Changed the stock pickups to Seymour Duncans

which Duncan did you choose? Sounds pretty clean.

I haven't got Seymour Duncans in this guitar. This was an EMG81 in the neck position. If you want to use Duncans, I recommend the JB/59 setup.
