How is this considered the greatest boss fights ever.. I just played it and all I did was follow his footprints and use my thermal goggles, greatest fight ever..

Let's remember here, MGS-series were before FPS shooters got big and good, that is why the Controles are so wacky, because at the time, no one really knew how to properly make these controles, let alone 3rd person Shooters came a long while after.
I think they did a Good job with it, making it more realistic, for the time it was a Great experience, but back then, alot of games had new concepts and such, nowadays, everything is a rip-off of another...

Indeed it's a Sneaker Game, but Shooting is escential when it comes to Tranquilizers, ofc there are routes and timings that makes the Tranquilizer Option pointless.
However, despite all of that, The Shooting Function in this game is still Obsolete.

I'm with phil on this one, for once a game expects you to know how everything works. his whole time playing this it has never told him how to do most things. like with the sniper, never tels him how to zoom. the only thing the game has told him on this fight is to use first person but be honest, the first person in this is garbage.

I figured out how to do all that stuff and beat this boss the proper way using stealth and your gadgets when i was like 12 so Phil's got no excuse. @Scirzorz Reading is hard, huh? MGS3 was originally a PS2 game, and IMO it should've stayed on PlayStation, mostly because of Microsoft's shitty policies and their gimped, old-as-shit DVD drive, some of the best stuff got cut out of this HD Collection.
And the controls clunky? In the beginning, sure, but after a few hours everyone should be accustomed to them, they're not the worst controls ever as Phil has stated. He's just an asshole and a shitty gamer in general. Watch his Dark Souls vids.

The game gives him all the tools he needs in order to find and eliminate The End, including detailed instructions on the use of his weapons, tips on the boss' weaknesses and equipment like the motion detector and thermal goggles in order to find him. everyone give phil a break, there aren't many good stealth games like this around. Most stealth games play like action games and most of us are used to it, and remember, phil is best at fighting games, not stealth
Watching this raises an interesting point about modern video games. Most games today make a point spelling out every little detail for the player, so that virtually no intuition or intelligence is needed to understand how to play and progress. Prior generations of games at least required you to have some capacity for abstract thought. It's not that DSP is stupid (he was fine with Portal 2). He's just not very perceptive. He would be fine at this game if he only grasped the basics of how to play.

I don't play anywhere near the amount of games Phil plays, yet in just about every game Phil struggles with these "Garbage controls" And game bugs. It took him 29 parts to finally know how to equip a suppressor. Why? Because he never read the little Menu that popped up everytime you hover over an item. No, it's not the game hindering him, it's himself.

@Genesis890722 You're not understanding. The game does tell you everything about what the Weapon is capable of doing. When you hover over the item, for example that M4 that he found early in the game? When you go and select or hover over it, a little black menu with white text appears saying "Press this button to equip suppressor" The M4 doesn't originally have a suppressor, it's unsilenced, so YES the game does tell tell you how to equip a suppressor. A little reading, will get you and DSP far.

Need for Speed the Run is another story, that game really sucks, this coming from someone that has played every Need for Speed since the original Hot Pursuit. This is quite possibly the most embarrassing playthrough yet. You've aimed down the sights before, how come you've forgotten how to do it?
I fully admit the shooting mechanics arent the best but guess what, this isn't a 3rd person shooter! It's a stealth game! I was much younger when I played this and I knew this was going to be a Sniper vs Sniper fight and I wooped his ass. It's like you purposely used the previous comments regarding the difficulty of this fight as an excuse to suck.

The game gives him all the tools he needs in order to find and eliminate The End, including detailed instructions on the use of his weapons, tips on the boss' weaknesses and equipment like the motion detector and thermal goggles in order to find him. It's unbelievable how much Phil likes to blame the games he plays for his inability to understand it's nuances.

Watching this raises an interesting point about modern video games. Most games today make a point spelling out every little detail for the player, so that virtually no intuition or intelligence is needed to understand how to play and progress. Prior generations of games at least required you to have some capacity for abstract thought. It's not that DSP is stupid (he was fine with Portal 2). He's just not very perceptive. He would be fine at this game if he only grasped the basics of how to play.

I don't play anywhere near the amount of games Phil plays, yet in just about every game Phil struggles with these "Garbage controls" And game bugs. It took him 29 parts to finally know how to equip a suppressor. Why? Because he never read the little Menu that popped up everytime you hover over an item. No, it's not the game hindering him, it's himself.

@Genesis890722 You're not understanding. The game does tell you everything about what the Weapon is capable of doing. When you hover over the item, for example that M4 that he found early in the game? When you go and select or hover over it, a little black menu with white text appears saying "Press this button to equip suppressor" The M4 doesn't originally have a suppressor, it's unsilenced, so YES the game does tell tell you how to equip a suppressor. A little reading, will get you and DSP far.

This is quite possibly the most embarrassing playthrough yet. You've aimed down the sights before, how come you've forgotten how to do it?
I fully admit the shooting mechanics arent the best but guess what, this isn't a 3rd person shooter! It's a stealth game! I was much younger when I played this and I knew this was going to be a Sniper vs Sniper fight and I wooped his ass. It's like you purposely used the previous comments regarding the difficulty of this fight as an excuse to suck.
