The name does not implies nephritic syndrome at all: "glomerulonephritis" just means "inflammation of the glomeruli". All types of glomerulonephritis can manifest as one of 6 different "renal syndromes": nephrotic syndrome, nephritic syndrome, asymptomatic proteinuria, haematuria, hypertension, and acute or chronic renal failure.

The name implies nephritic syndrome (membranous glomerulonephritis) although it is manifested as one of the most common causes of nephrotic syndrome. Stupid name.. remember NOT answering this as a correct answer on a test, then looking it up after and seeing that i was mistaken by the name..
