I totally agree - the next installment of the Password series on DVD should be the Password Plus collection. The best of Password Plus and the explanation for why NBC ever pulled the show.
If I recall correctly, NBC canceled the show for the same reason most shows are canceled -- low ratings. Now, to be sure, I've always thought part of the ratings decline was due to the death of Allen Ludden during its run. Nothing against Tom Kennedy's hosting -- he did very well. (And if you ever get a chance, check out how well his brother, Jack Narz, did hosting the show on a whim.) But it's very difficult to replace an MC on his trademark show without SOME cause and effect.
Cheque out Allen's Leisure Suit. God, we had bad clothes in the 1970's!! And David Letterman seemed 2 B 1 of the celebrities!! I remember Lettermen's day time show in 1980. I liked it, it only lasted 1 year!
@yaywhewclips242 Though I agree most 70s fashion was atrocious. the truth is that EVERY DECADE has had more than one article of bad fashion. its that the 70s had a greater percentage share than others ('m sure it was designers on one or another type of drug.
I agree, retrotv. I want to hear them say "This is (announcer's name) speaking for (show's name). A Mark Goodson Television Production. We see promos for GSN shows millions of times a day. OK, GSN, WE GET IT!!!!!!
Yes, 'blue', Dave's hair was receding, even as early as 1979; that he continues to have as much hair on his head as he does now is a miracle! As for GSN's insistance on "scrunching" the closing credits while plugging their upcoming "events", 'barber'- unfortunately, that's now the custom on most cable networks these days....GSN started this unpopular practice about two years ago.
Well, at least some networks, if they credit crunch, will only crunch for like 20 seconds and then they show the rest of the credits. Thats what i THINK GSN Should do
Yea this is what we should be seeing on GSN instead of those g-ddamn previews...i mean who the hell cares about previews? GSN shows that shit a billion times every half hour or so!!!
You got it! I'm sick of that junk too and I have been since 2004, I want every Game Show Pating Gift/Ticket Plug and credit free and to stop ending at the last minute before the next show, that's ridiculous!
GSN sometimes leaves in the credits for Password Plus on weekdays.

Not GSN's fault. Fremantle's rules, not GSN.

Well Fremantle needs to change their rules.

For a minute it looks like David Letterman was feeling his hair like it was a hairpiece. Was his hairline receding already, lol?
