Nice man that's so awesome and u have balls to do that Oscar have alot of sharp teeth curved toward the back of their mouths and they latch onto things. When I was 10 I was feeding my uncles 14 inch Oscar ( it was huge!!! He measured it around 13.8 inches I believe) and I stuck my hand in the tank to try and touch the fish and it attacked my finger and latched on and actually drew blood. I now have a scar on my finger and im 14 now!
@xXBloodSightXx In this video there was only the two oscars and a Sailfin Pleco some feeder goldfish. The oscars are currently around 29-30cm and the sailfin is 34cm or more now.
@yomonstruo I had a green terror in this tank with the oscars they were pushed into the corner by the terror so he is now in a smaller tank on his own lol.
@456bighead depends i guess, i got a albino and a tiger! when i put my tiger oscar in the tank my albino was just happy to have a partner with him..even tho my albino is stronger,,,if i put a other one inside the tank they will kill him..
Oscars are awesome, i put one of those floaty things people use for fishing in my oscar tank, my red oscar likes to knock it upwards so it bangs on top of the fishtank lid. Wakes me up in the middle of the night sometimes.
The Astronotus are very difficult to keep clean and also require lots of patience xD I know something I have 7 including a true albino, but that require cleaning are very Intelligent and very resistant cmq for your compliments are great: D I wanted to ask you more or less how long the water cabia answer me please: D hello friend
@godfather99x This vid was taken over a year ago, there still very much alive very happy. The only thing stupid here is your comment, read the description and some other comments, but i will explain again to another person who doesnt get facts before they shoot there abuse and miss guided opinion. This was only for the video, i was cleaning the tank just prior to this video and they decided to start chomping on my hands i dont do this every day. =)
@stupidshit1231 The big guy is called that due to him being relentless when going after my hand or going after the other fish in the tank.. he just doesnt stop, like the marvel comic book character. quote - "IM THE JUGGERNAUGHT BITCH!" lol =P
i love oscars (own three) but i wouldnt put my hand in there, plus im too soft hearted for goldfish to feed them to my oscars (: but lmfao. you are gutsy!
I invite u to my place and u can hold your hand in my tank :)) as long as u whant, but call me one week before and we will film what happends when 13 hungry 5-6 inch red belly piranhas get a taste of your hand! By the way, nice tank mate!
Love this vid. Thanks for sharing! Just getting into the Oscars myself, and I can only hope mine grow as nicely, and look as healthy as your couple there. I'm guessin the Darker, larger one is the male, and lil miss eyebrow, is....well...a miss?....Just curious. Thanks again for sharing.- GrayBeard
Years ago, I had an oscar that used to do the same thing. He drew blood a couple of times and it DOES hurt! Now I have a little yellow lab female about 3.5 inches long that will bite me when she's protecting her babies. She can't draw blood, but she sure is a gutsy little fish! Watch my "Mama Fish Bites the Hand that Feeds Her" if you want to see her :)
Parent oscars are usually the only particular reason in the instance that they are so aggressive. Why were you aggravating them without a constructive purpose? They look like a mated pair. Leave them the fuck alone. =(
@electrikwafflez Oh dude no reason to hate, the video was done ages ago, and there none the worse off for it. They were going at me like this for about an hour while i was cleaning the tank. And the purpose was to share this video with everyone to view there behaviour, only this time i was interacting with the fish. Today they live on larger, happier and now with added oscars in the tanks. And still attack anything that moves in there tank. =)
@dontask996 Yes they are feeder goldfish, i no longer feed them live food due to my supplier not looking after his stock. Alot of Fish Deaths are caused by unkept/unclean feeder fish. Shame really they love the chase.
@Gaypuppetbomber lol there pretty good fish, the Larger one had to be put into a seperate tank due to non stop attack of the others. My hand was fine, no major cuts. And i was only demonstrating there agression to me moving around there enviroment. ie gravel etc. Prior to the video i was cleaning the tank.
when we would put our hand in the tank they would just run the other way but there was a time where i was going to feed them the fish flakes so i opened the tank and put my fingers near the water and the damn oscar jumped and bit the flakes off my hands that scared the crap out of me lol,
@moormandrm I would seperate that fish from the others into another tank untill it heals up or gets big enough to defend itself. Cichlids are an agressive bunch of fish and its hard to find that balance in a tank between them, trail and error and ask for advice when buying your cichlid. Im sorry to hear its hurt and i hope it will be ok. =)
tell me about it... my dad has an oscar fish, he's OBSESSED wit fish! OMG IT BITS HIM AND HE AIN'T CARE! OMG it almost bit me when I was helping meh dad wit da fish tank. UGH......
hey man i like ur video i had that kind encounter with my male dovii so one day i got pissed from him attacking me i hit the fuker right in the mouth n now he dont mess with me every time i go near the tank he hides some fish are just naturally mean pricks so u gotta show em who is boss but i enjoyed ur video
@dawnsjulie They did tear a few layers of skin off, only recently have they drawn blood, 3 nasty inch long scrapes on my right hand. And yes it hurt that time, price i pay for cleaning there filters lol.
@DebiNga Yes i was for the purpose of the video. And they were going for me the same way they were when i was cleaning the tank just moments before i grabbed the cam corder.
@500bmw1 Feeder gold fish. Black gold fish? they dont eat live food anymore due to the shops not looking after the feeder tanks as much as i would like. I think they ate 6 or so of them just prior to my hand in the tank, maybe they were for later on as an after dinner snack lol.
Origionally i had a Fluval 405 canister external, but the plastic cover part inside broke, Now i have an Aqua One 1050, also a sponge filter and an old cotten bubbler.
@D3R4NG3DxSHOTTY Adults like these rarely get bothered by much as long as you regularly clean and water change the tank and feed them well. Just today when changing a filter, they drew blood when i wasnt watching they snuck up on me. Unfortunatly i have to put my hands in to clean or change things around as they get territorial after a week or so. Good tip is to quickly scrub or wash your hands and forarms under water before you place them into the tank water.
@D3R4NG3DxSHOTTY anyone that owns a tank knows this is bs lmao i have a 4500 gallon tank that i go swiming in you have to clean the tank and with big fis you have to often fix things in the tank so unless you can prove that please do some reading be4 you make stupid coments
@dockwerker 5 foot tank should be fine, just dont crowd the tank with too many objects. One usefull thing ive found with oscars is if the water is filled to an inch of the top, they have lass room to jump up and bonk on the glass top of your tank, as they get very excited at feeding time. =)
@Dragon8or1 haha ok thx, i'll take out some wood if they grow a bit larger....now its completely filled with wood and plants, and i've seen a few get verry excited indeed haha verry cool petfish they really recognise you after a while haha
@KELLYRacingrules I would agree if they were much smaller fish or were weak from being sick, but adults like these rarely get bothered by much as long as you regularly clean and water change the tank.
@BrightEyes10003 Well it wasnt like i was filming myself cleaning the tank, after it was clean i filmed what they had been doing to me the whole time but now it was my turn to have a little fun with them, they are very happy fish and will bite nearly everything that comes in contact with them showing there confidence within there enviroment. And after this video they went back to whatever they were doing before it. Until next time i clean the tank dun dun dunnnnnnn.....
love this fish they have such a unique attitude mines would always let my dad hand feed it but not me instead he would try to bite me dont know why but would make sure those feeders are clean from parasites and disease anyways nice oscars i miss mine already
I couldn't and wouldn't feed live fish to my 2 Oscars or my 2 Jack Dempsey s, i'm a softy for animals. I have feed a couple of dead little fish to them.
@joeybutts13 Thanks man, its a 6 foot long by 2 foot high. It does look wierd i think because of the wooden lid on top, covers some of the tank and makes it look smaller then it is. Also the vid was shot in widescreen i think its a bit squished.
@SunnyD5 The smaller fish in this video are feeder Gold Fish. At the moment there is a small comet and another African i dont know the name of -will post a vid for some help at another time to find out- but they are too fast for them to catch that and they have alot of places to hide.
my two red tigers used to go savage every evening at 5pm TEATIME, theyd jump right out the water and smack the lid-when they wer 4", MONSTER FISH!!!! love the video, that stresses the fish about as much as a fight with a pack of shovelnose in the wild nothin bothers, tho as a rule unless your gettin in for a swim.....; ]
@loganandlexi1 That would be awesome, but i think my Oscars are too grumpy to let me do that, the new albino one is a happy fish maybe i will ease him into a few hugs lol.
This happened to my dad when we were rearranging some stuff during a water change. Our blood parrot cichlid came out of hiding and bit him on the hand several times.
@FJqattan Yeah some of the more violent bites hurt and tear a few layers of skin, nothing major tho no open wounds or anything. It does hit rly hard like being whacked by a solid stick. Punishment i took for the video :p
Nice man that's so awesome and u have balls to do that Oscar have alot of sharp teeth curved toward the back of their mouths and they latch onto things. @loganandlexi1 That would be awesome, but i think my Oscars are too grumpy to let me do that, the new albino one is a happy fish maybe i will ease him into a few hugs lol.

Very nice pair you have. Complete opposite of my albino oscar. It sometimes rests in my hand and lets me pet it.

This happened to my dad when we were rearranging some stuff during a water change. Our blood parrot cichlid came out of hiding and bit him on the hand several times.

does it hurt? lol
FJqattan 1 year ago
@FJqattan Yeah some of the more violent bites hurt and tear a few layers of skin, nothing major tho no open wounds or anything. It does hit rly hard like being whacked by a solid stick. Punishment i took for the video :p
