  • Call this a n00b move, I still love it. It's always there, I mean, I don't go right for it, but if I'm losing on points and the match is about to end, this is so convenient.

  • do you know why the guys flips out when you lock in is cause you dont extend your leg over his back

  • @RedAtenza Lmaoo, luckily for me the first time i had to do that was with a girl, she was the closest to my weight. i got to do some live with her too, she is a reallly good lucking girl but it couldnt get too turned on cuz that would be bad when i was in her guard.

  • at some point in my life I was in a fight with someone, he was on top and beating a hole in my head and I remember I had some many occasions to trap their arm in kimura and break it but at that time I didn't even heard of the word Ju-Jitsu, nice video.

  • I'm a mixed martial artist and have trained in muay thai, kickboxing and submission wrestling for over a year now. I can still remember the awkwardness of my first SW classes with guys sitting on top of me, between my legs, on my face and so on :DDD at first it feels really awkward but after a while you start to appreciate the effectiveness of the moves. I used to be a stand-up orientated fighter, but now wrestling has actually become my favorite part of MMA. Regards from Finland :)

  • Very good tutorial thanks for posting

  • Talk about weird, I know the instructor in this video and I found it randomly!

  • Great vid :D

  • Finally an expert village video that doesn't suck

  • the thing is when i do this agenst stronger opponents they just make there arm stiff and it wont move

  • @jackjargent3 When you lock their wrist keep it tight to your chest/body & just fall back using all the weight & strength in your back muscles. Don't just try & pull using your arms.

  • isnt is spelled brazilian jiu jitsu? not jujitsu? my academy definitely spells it jiu jitsu.

  • @mattlikesgraciebarra

Yes, now in the 21st century, Jujitsu = Japanese. Jiu Jitsu = Brazilian version of Jujitsu/Judo

  • @mattlikesgraciebarra ; They are 2 different Martial arts. Ju Jitsu is more self defense whereas Brazilian Ju Jitsu is more take them to the ground and beat crap out of them lol

  • When I first started, the first thing that happens is my instructor pairs up with me, and opens up his legs. Climbing onto his guard was the most uncomfortable thing when I started off. He's just lying on his back, offering himself to you.

  • Today i gave one of my classmates a kimura at school. after the kimura i had to stay at school for an extra hour!!!! SHIT

  • @MrStijnvdm why?

  • AWESOME THX ALOT PAL

  • this might look gay doing it in the streets but hey atleast u fucked up the other guy,,it dont matter how u look like while doing it,,it just matters if u fuck him up..

  • Well done XD

  • Geat video

  • thanx mate for sharing this vid : )

  • I have never felt so uncomfortable as when I had to get into guard for the first time. I felt so awkward the first few classes I went to. However, now that I've been doing BJJ for a while I think you would have to be crazy to avoid learning some of the lethal techniques in BJJ just because it looks gay.

Plus sometimes a hot girl comes in to try out the class and you get to roll with her which totally makes up for it hahaha!

  • I remember that I was attending to my first Jiu Jutsu class.

And the first thing my instructor did.. was get on top of me.

    I was like.. WTF

  • @PVumbe What are you guys like 10 :P hahaha it is a bit weird looking but alot of these moves are super effective. I do this with my friends all the time and kids will be luaghing at us but when we do sparing and stuff and they are invloved...haha were the best

  • @jayhawk88z haha nerd..

  • @jayhawk88z

then why are you watching this video?

  • Comment removed

  • @jayhawk88z Your gay.

  • Technique is not so bad, however, once hand is locked and you roll to your back, place hand in front of leg to prevent escape. As you finish submission follow the spine up to neck until you have the tap... Other than that I like it.. Don't forget the to consider guiotine choke or omaplata if it fails. Thanks for vid!

  • thanks for the instrucktions!

  • I want to practice this with a girl

  • the gaurd looks like a new missionary position for sex

  • @Brianiare how about fuk you, those ppl are out there doing there job, risking there lives for the country, and your over here talking shit about them. you should be thankful that you havent been blown up by a bunch crazy terrorists yet. YOUR THE PUSSY.

  • thank you very much the explaining was perfect! was this lock created by the great judoka masahiko kimura?

  • @Brianiare XD thanks and how are you today ???on youtube?

  • @Brianiare someone + gun = pussy lmao

  • would a thumbless grip be better?

  • Press 4 really fast. lol

  • i wanna see a real match!

  • @Brianiare

st + fu = what you must do

  • i was missing that initial hip escape from my set up, no wonder i was never getting it from guard.

  • in a hypothetical fight without ufc rulez, are maybe your testicles vulnerable in the minute 0:52?

  • the only thing "gay" is the person's maturity level who can't be mature enough to realize there is nothing sexual about getting your ass beaten by another person and this video could prevent your ass from being raped one day so learn it

  • Bo

  • Kimura Throw by a highschool kid -

  • what ever happend to monkey grip? move your hand the wrong way with the way this guy holds his opponent and snap goes your finger.

  • Awesome video! Now I see the mistakes I've been making at my dojo.

  • i understand how effective BJJ is and im here to try and learn some of it but im unable to join an acadedmy because if find it disgusting to roll on the floor with some dude, on top or under him, being squeezed between his legs or squezze him myself, having his crotch rubbing on my hands or face,...i mean i find it just gross. am i the only one to feel this way?i just find it extremely unpleasant to touch and grab guys. great techniques but gross to practice.wrestling and judo too.

  • @eding3011 do you kno how fucking stupid you sound??

  • @AhmadTheDon i know its stupid but i cant stop feeling disgusted being grabed by a man or grabing him. i was submited in a street scuffle i had and i realized how effective that shit is but im a punching (sucker) guy. i want nothing to do with touching guys other than shaking hands or friendly hugs. But i undertsand this is a great martial art and i wish i didnt feel sick just imagining a barefoot gorila on top of me. thats what keeps me away from dojo.

  • @eding3011 you wear a cup, and you can't be homophobic about it, you just focus on the sport, or techniques and you will forget you feel weird about it

  • @eding3011 WOW! Just...WOW! Are you afraid you`re gonna catch gay or something? I don`t think you can get infected that way..... Maybe you should headbutt someone with a shred of intelligence, and if you`re lucky you`ll catch smart, because you are in desperate need of it.

  • @EVILSPAWN1000 it doesnt matter if he is gay or not, too much physical contact with guys make me sick. if i knew the dude was gay it would be even worse. i dont even imagine that. JiuJitsu is great i wish i knew how to use it in extreme situations without having to practice to learn it. im here to get a grasp of it cos i cant do it. i could if the trainer was a woman. preferably an unatractive one cos if she was hot i would be thinking about sex all the time lol i would tap her ass all the time

  • @eding3011 I`m guessing ur not aiming 4 ufc,but 2 b able 2 defend urself?2 words:Krav Maga.Not a WHOLE LOT of man on man-action LoL;-D and in addition u`ll learn tecniques 2 disarm a person holding anything from a teaspoon 2 a handgun.AND it`s great fun.Good luck:-)

  • @eding3011 BTW:There is no way,no how u will ever learn 2 defend urself with BJJ or any other style 4 that matter by just watching vids. U need 2 DO IT.Over and over and over again, till ur BRAIN learns 2 react in that way. You`ll end up knowing everything, but when taken by surprise u`ll 99% choke and start flailing instead.Ur BRAIN needs 2 connect the 2.Scum attacking=take him down with what ever move best in THAT situation.Without having 2 even think about it.

  • @eding3011

Dont worry about guy. If striking makes you comfortable then by all means....

Just remember most wins come from fighters who get "too much physical contact". If you want to win you have to keep an open mind and not call the way someone fights gay.

  • @fromstart2finish i dont think there is a gay way of fighting.

  • @eding3011

    cool

  • wanna practice this with my gf

  • anyone else notice in the end the guy tapped and he still held the kimura???

  • amateur at best. Very lose and the arm is not going in the correct direction. Makes it way harder than need be.

  • he has that cauliflower ear thing

  • Don is the best instructor so far on expert village for BJJ, quick, simple and still detailed. Thanks Don.

  • jitsu looks borinng taekwondo looks better

    like me

  • This, after learning how to pull guard, is probably one of the best techniques for the real world because so many fights start with a sucker punch which puts YOU at a disadvantage. If you can pull guard to avoid further blows and then put on a kimura, it's over and out and you get out of a bad situation with little damage and the other guy has a screwed up shoulder.

  • @itpduder Eh? Not so much.

This is far from an ideal technique for a real world fight. 1. It sacrifices a standing position, which sacrifices mobility, use of the environment, striking options, and opens you to multiple attackers. 2. It pulls the assailant on top of you where they can still effectively strike you, while your striking is negatively affected because it's more difficult to rotate the hips.

  • @gabrielsburg Dude this is open GAURD LMAO. It is when your opponent put s you in that position. Most BJJ specialists are not gonna go to the bottom if they can. On your back is a bad place to be. This just explais what to do if you get there idiot.

  • @IveGotTheNuts Sure it makes it harder for an assailant to fight if you successfully apply the kimura and you do significant damage to the assailant's shoulder, but the idea that this is going to end the fight is far too generous.

  • that will mess u up real fast if u dont tap!

  • i did this move once to an enemy and i accidently took his arm off (literally) blood was gushing all over the place...

  • @eYeSoFdAnGeR I believe you lol NOT!

  • @eYeSoFdAnGeR You mean you broke his arm? That would be the only reason for blood to be anywhere, and it would have to be a very severe break, like you would need to snap his arm in half and then cause the bone to protrude through the skin. I have dislocated many peoples shoulders, and i've broken two kids arms, once in a wrestling match, and once in a MMA fight and out of all those situations I have never seen any blood come from it.

  • i used to apply this f***ing move but my my damn brain didnt want to try it coz its deadly

  • nice job!! :D

    I needa learn :)

    Thanks 4 posting ^_^

  • Awesome. I would like to learn more. Please teach me, sensei.

  • great instruction on a basic kimura.

  • Keep pressing 4 and use your imagination

  • @ThePainCakez haha

  • 138714 movies!!!!!!

  • 30 people can't do this move

  • that was sexy!

  • expert village videos are shit!!!!!!! this is the worst kimora i have ever seen!!!!!!!!!

  • what is the instructers name plz?

  • very cool. checkout unicyclehoopster on youtube

  • greats

  • awesome video

  • anyone else here from the gracie school? representing ! ^^

  • lol i just learned this at my school

  • i thing you don't need to unlock both legs

  • excellent demo; shifting of the hips and control of the arm are esential. I'm a grappling practicioner of many years and found that shifting, controlling, and setting up an opponet will allow for numerous locks to be applied. I've combined BJJ, with wrestling, and Russian Sambo; I found it to be very effective. As a millitary combat arts instructor the method is to "disarm then disable" so BJJ doesn't work well for that. But I always teach my guys what to do if they find themselves on their back

  • BJJ is a good sport 1 to 1 fight in the ring competition(with rules & regulations) but as in my own experience, it is lack of multiple fights i.e bar fights, gang fights with weapons, chaos street fight etc. I will not use BJJ where there r so many people fighting each other all around me.It take 2 much time to stop a fight with a single person on the ground.Recently I saw a chaotic fight at a shopping mall between 3-4 men with security guards.BJJ surely could NOT be used!

  • @syimangyeah thats why you should use your GUN jitsu in those situations

  • 0:01 to skip ad

  • THIS IS GREAT FOR SEXUAL SITUATIONS

  • This is a good technique if your getting ass raped by a scarlet monkey.

  • lol i tapped the same way when a kimura was put on me before.

  • JIUJITSU & MUAY THAI COMBINED = DEADLY!

  • @CeeEmmz

Definitely a good all round fighting skill set ;) Maybe with a hint of Judo and wrestling thrown in.

  • @J90JAM wrestling and Judo? why need em if u already master the ARTS of GRACIE JIUJITSU or BJJ.....

    just sayn.

  • @CeeEmmz you clearly have not been inside a combat/rwsd judo school or watched Matt Hughes collect another win against a Gracie using wrestling.

  • @CeeEmmz you clearly have not been inside a combat/rwsd judo school or watched Matt Hughes collect another win against a Gracie using wrestling. Also the Kimura was invented by a Japanese Judo guy, and he broke a Gracie's arm with it. Learn your shit.

  • @unclesara wow got a potty mouth there eh.... and have u been in MMA FIGHTING???????

  • @CeeEmmz You must be extremely young to be offended by "shit". With that in mind, I would learn all you can before presenting ill informed sweeping generalities on a subject you have no experience or understanding of. As it is now, your conclusions of MMA and grappling aren't even wrong. Yes I train MMA and grappling on a daily basis for the last 13 years, I train, promote, corner and compete in local MMA shows. I suggest you join a local MMA school. (and get a thicker skin).

  • @unclesara lol actuly i do train MMA and my camp is 1 of the best here in TORONTO..... ur what 30 years old and talks to much lolz come on dawg just stfu! everyone has there own opinion...... so just stfu!

  • @J90JAM This move was named after the Judoka that discovered it. You are right!

  • @CeeEmmz heard of jeet kune do?

  • @whymeproducz yea bro i heard about it its a good martial art but i rather for for M.T. and BJJ

  • You can also do omoplata from the kimura

  • @CeeEmmz Or sambo and Savat

  • @CeeEmmz plus judo

  • @CeeEmmz , nah for me it would be boxing and judo, combined

  • Nice video

  • it would be awesome if the text didn't block the entire fackin video

  • @rissx click on the cc button on your screen my man

  • @rissx take it off then, stop bitching u fag and can u spot me 5$?

  • @rissx would be great if you pressed "CC" icon which turns the text away (Y)

  • @rissx if you press the cc button near the bottom right corner of the vid, then the text will disapear

  • @rissx just tick off the cc button

  • @rissx you can move the text...

  • pretty sweet kimura there but i think it should be banned in a few places..

  • Fedor used this to tap out Kevin Randleman after getting slammed on his head so it definetly works

  • beastly lol i used this in school and made a kid cry lmaoo. people where scared of me befor but now every1 thijngs im like a moster now lmao

  • @TheBenaiah You're fuckin' retarded, you looked up a martial arts move just to look cool in school? I don't know if you bullied the kid but if it wasn't self-defense that's even worse ... smh..

  • @Marathol

I know how it feels to be bullied, the bully just moved to high school, i joined Judo because of him.

  • @lilgoalieman I know how it feels to be bullied too, this idiot "TheBenaiah" here thinks that it's funny to make a kid cry and make "every1 thijings im like a moster now lmao"... Fucking dipshits...

  • @Marathol

haha, The judo club i went to got closed down, so i just got into a MMA gym, I got pretty damn ripped now, when i get into the high schoool, that jackass that used to bully me will won't even want to touch me. xD But if you still get bullied, Don't try to be the bigger one and bully him back, cus he will get his friends to jump you, just walk away like i did. hahaha I learned that the hard way .

  • @lilgoalieman

    cool story bro

  • i dont think gay videos are allowed on youtube

  • @topidude I didn't think gay comments are allowed on youtube, but you made it through. Besides, just because you became aroused while watching the video, doesn't make it gay.

  • @topidude If you're that uncomftorable about your sexuality, maybe BJJ is not for you. Have fun getting your ass kicked by someone who knows it.

  • Yes this is a basic move, so what? A punch is a basic move too. I'd rather fight someone who knows a little about everything, than a person who is an expert on the basics!

  • How effective is jiu jitsu as defense in a real life attack? Surely you may end up on the ground with someone over you, but how much emphasis does jiu jitsu place on ending a fight quickly, and not on the ground? Does jiu jitsu also focus on punches and kicks, and putting an enemy to the ground from the standing position?

  • @djeikop It is effective to know many martial arts including bjj. Bjj does not focus taking an enemy down, for that you might wanna look at judo or wrestling moves. Bjj focuses more on locks and putting pressure on joints. In a "real life attack" bjj could seriously hurt someone. It you apply too much pressure you can break things.

    BJJ ends fights quickly (below)

"After his loss to Matt Hughes, St-Pierre sucked with a win over Dave Strasser at TKO 19 by a first-round KIMURA submission."

  • @djeikop Very effective. I fought against a wrestler in a street fight and he took me down, but I locked the kimura quickly and he tapped right away. If you want to make sure you win the exchange, after a few seconds of locking it, you can even do a hip sweep and get on top of him. It's all fun from there :)

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 kimura and neckcranks are the BANE of most pure wrestlers. They give up their arms and neck quite a bit.

  • @xvnukervx2 Haha yea I know, the whole time he was trying to figure out a way to transition on me while I was just waiting for that arm to come down. It was pretty funny and the guy was almost crying.

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 Im in Kung fu and I have an important question for you, Why would you try to make somone tap in a street fight?

  • @10fingerdeathpunch He took me down on the ground and it was the only opening I had. Plus, I didn't end the fight on a tap, I locked it for 10-15 seconds and then sweeped him to beat the shit out of his face.

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 ..you said in a previous comment that you made a wrestler tap in a street fight. It is one thing to lie when you are speaking to someone...you can always claim that you didn't say something. Only a fuckwad makes a comment, knows that everyone can read it, and that it is saved, and then denies saying it.

    DUH.

  • @mapache11 I said I made him tap, BUT I DIDN'T END THE FIGHT ON THE TAP. Why don't you analyze my comments better before you make a bigger fool of yourself? Stop trying to start shit on a fucking computer faggot. You try to act like you know everything about fighting, but you're probably some fat piece of shit who just watches a bunch of UFC and has never been in a fight. Start talking shit in someone's face rather than the internet. Fucking faggot.

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 ..If your fairy tale were true you would have mentioned how you swept him, got on top and pounded away. Instead you say you made him tap, then say that you waited for his arm and he was practically crying. You don't mention the punching until after someone asked why you tried to make someone tap in a streetfight. Nobody believes you Mr. Gracie.

  • @mapache11 Hahaha I told my story to the kid who asked a question and I emphasized the kimura because that's what he was asking about. Look at his question you fucking prick. He specifically asked if the kimura would be effective in the street fight and I gave an example of how it would work. Hahahaha, I don't have to prove a damn thing to you. Just hope I don't see you in real life where I could show you in person ;)

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 ..look at your response dickwad. If you had said "I used a kimura on a wrestler, then swept him and started pounding" in your first post instead of waiting for someone to ask you why you would try to get someone to tap in a street fight then we might believe your little story.

Who taps in a street fight anyway?? What are you in 1930 telling your opponent to "Say uncle, or I break it!" and yes you did say that he tapped.

  • @mapache11 Hahaha, get the fuck outta here. I don't care what you think. You're just a little punk on YouTube that likes to talk shit on the keyboard. Like I said, I would love to show you in person. You don't believe my story, fine, then fuck you. Just stop commenting back every second with your "no one can fight better than me, i have to talk everyone down to make myself feel better" attitude.

You can't fight and you complain like a little bitch on the internet. End of story. Suck my dick.

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 ..Where did I say that I can fight better than everyone??? You must have me confused with one of the other 4 hundred thousand or so people that don't believe you.

Like I said, if your story were true you would have mentioned the pounding you gave the guy instead of the tapping.

Go back to diddling your kid sister and leave the comments to people that don't have to lie to impress people.

  • @mapache11 LOL my story is true whether you like it or not. Who do I have to impress? Strangers on youtube? Look how fucking tough you are kid, you don't know me and you don't know what I do.

  • @mapache11 Looks like you're just jealous of me otherwise why else would you keep trying to comment back negating my story. Seriously, this is fucking hilarious. You have no clue who I am yet you continue to bitch and whine saying that I'm making it up when I clearly am not. Do you have no life at all? Or are you just sad that people can fight in real life and not just on the keyboard unlike you?I've been doing MMA/BJJ for a year now and I am proud of it.

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 ..I'm just calling you a liar. I'm not bitching. You already tried to impress people here so you answered your own question. You said that you threw a kimura on a wrestler in a street fight and made him tap. When someone asked why you would make someone tap in a streetfight, you said that you didn't end the fight with the tap (still implying that the guy actually tapped), but then swept him and atarted punching. Facts that you left out of your Street Fight Fairy Tale.

  • @mapache11 heheh typical youtube arguing in confidence

  • @sikhman100 ..poisonousbuckeye has a year of experience in BJJ and she made a wrestler tap in a streetfight, so I don't want to mess with her.

  • @mapache11 People like you are so overconfident and arrogant on the keyboard, but when they face adversity in real life, they cry home to their mommy like a little bitch and beg for attention their whole lives. So go ahead with your internet assumptions but just know that being a fucking dick on the internet won't make you tough or strong enough to say it in real life.

    GROW A FUCKING PAIR.

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 .. you are the one making assumptions about me. I have only stated the fact that nobody has a streetfight, then when telling people about it, leave out the part of how the pummelled the other guy.

Any cop/teacher/parent can tell you that when people keep adding to the story, the story is at least partly false. The truth always comes out at the beginning, not after some asks leading questions.

  • @mapache11 Hahahaha and he still doesn't give up...you are the definition of a tool. And of course you wouldn't want to mess with me in real life, so you choose to do it on an internet site...really shows how tough you are. You never done MMA in your life, all you do is just watch it all the time and somehow that validates you to criticize total strangers on YouTube on how to fight. Like I said SEVERAL times, you're a fucking punk on the internet! And you keep on proving it :)

  • @poisonousbuckeye42 ..a WHOLE YEAR of MMA! Now we're all even MORE impressed.

  • this is definitely helpful. to me it seems like it would work much better than trying the Kimura when you're on top of him. cuz they can just pull their arm away with their other arm.

  • for anyone saying this is not effective against a guy punching you, you have obviously never seen fedor fight. I have seen that dude pull tons of kimuras on guys twice his size in a fight against a skilled opponent. If you have even an intermediate level understanding of bjj and you get jumped by a guy with no knowledge you will destroy him

  • if u press F5 during any advertisement before a video, itll automatically skip it... thumbs?

  • 0:01 to skip ads. thumbs up so people can see.

  • All these ppl sayin you cant use this for self defense, if its someone who mastered it, you throw one punch and he some how figures out how to have you next to dead in 15 seconds

  • it look nasty

  • Comment removed

  • my friend taught this to me kinda hard to get down at first

  • this is bullshit

  • im not talking shit or anything..

and ive been in plenty of fights.. but when your in a fight..

you dont have all this time too do all this crap.. i dont put my hands down i start throwing blows too the facce. then what do you do??

  • @z28dogg Someone would do something like this and your poor fighting skills would be useless.

  • @z28dogg Well no not at the pace that the instructor is going at. And this is the basic rough outline of how to pull it off. Its the same as in boxing. Boxers go through hundreds of drills to improve their form and technique, but in a street fight, form and technique rarely are shown. In a street fight, you can use this technique effectively, it just wont look as impressive and technical like it did in the video.

  • @z28dogg You block your face, buck you off so your hands go forward, grab your hand right hand and get your left leg over and get yourself into the full mount. Finish off with an armbar.

  • The Kimura Lock defeated Helio Gracie so people shouldn't criticize it

  • fundamentals are the key to proper training, i train machada jiu jitsu, everyday before grappling we drill shrimping, left foot right hand and vise versa, "third arm training" and the same moves over and over until it becomes second nature. and those of you who really know jiu jitsu, know the pains and frustrations that we all go thru...with jiu jitsu comes humility....remember that

  • People who criticize this as a "beginner" move are just people who have seen a lot but are a master of nothing. Anyone who is experienced in BJJ knows that some of the BEST guys have strong basics. The fundamentals are super important for beginners and veterans. I'm a purple belt and this technique is still one of my favorites and probably always will be.

  • is the kimura the same thing as the key lock?
