I loved Magic when he played, but he has turned into a clown, who brown-noses Celtics players every chance he gets as if he owes them something or is trying to prove something. Every time he talks about the over-rated Bird and the "beautiful" relationship he has with him, or compliments him during an interview, it makes me want to VOMIT
@Flipper79able Dude off course he is not over-rated, I said this during the Finals, when Magic was kissing ass to those Leprechauns and picking them to win over the team that he is a part owner of it pissed me off.
@IkilledColMustard Are you gonna answer me? This a man who won 3 NBA Championships, 3 NBA MVP'S, 2 Finals MVP'S not to mention Stats that are beyond all. I guess you don't know much about basketball.
give me a break euro refs give away many travel calls too because when brandon jennings went over to euroleague i watcehd games from many teams and refs let some calls get away from em over dere too
it think my favorite basketball player is Magic Johnson. He not only the best basketball player! he touches communities, millions of people and is trying to help make the world a better place! Also hes a great role model! He should of played the role instead of Michael Jordan in Space Jam!!!
Magic is trying to help people that are strugging in general. hes a great role model for kids and is very courages. i think hes very smart, even though he made a mistake! nobodies perfect! he has accomplish so many things. i was never into watching sport or keeping track it. Magic is just a wonderful man!
The Celtics stink. They go through loooooong periods where they just bite, whereas the Lakers have much pretty always kicked butt, and were contenders.
@Zeeboe The lakers owned the 70's and 80's But, The celts owned the the majority of championship periods. Although they may go through "long periods" The celts have the over all championship trophies. Can't deny that.
@slagarnering The best passer as a point guard ever. The best point guard, period - is Oscar Robertson. He averaged a triple double over the entire season, his rookie year - the only player ever to do that in the NBA and continued to average a triple double over his first 5 years. This is the guy who invented the head fake and the fadeaway jump shot. Even Magic agrees that he's not the best point guard ever. #2? - probably. Top 3? - without a doubt.
@Sovnarkom Osacr Robertson wasn't even a guard. He was a forward. So if u wanna say Oscar Robertson is the greatest point forward, cool. I stick with the stance that Magic IS the greatest point guard ever.
@IBdaPrince He was listed as a guard when playing for Crispus Attucks High School, the University of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Royals and the Milwakee Bucks. Jack Twyman and Jerry Lucas were the starting forwards on his team for most of his professional career (with the Royals). Oscar Robertson was a versatile player who played minutes at forward in addition to playing guard much like other notable swingmen who came after him (e.g., John Havlicek, Julius Erving, Michael Jordan).
@Sovnarkom All the publications and basketball cards I've ever seen listed him as a forward. So maybe there's a mixup somewhere. Won't say you're wrong, but not right either. As far as ur stats of the Big O, they are a bit skewed. According to NBA.com, Oscar did average a triple double in one season, but it was his second season, not his rookie one. And do u mean he averaged a triple double each of his first 5 years, or that's the average during those 5 years? I could see the second
@IBdaPrince You mentioned NBA.com as a reference that you respect. nba.com/history/legends/oscar-robertson/index.html ... read this article on Oscar in the Legends section, he's described as a guard 4x in that article and isn't called a forward throughout the essay. The triple double was in his 2nd year (my mistake) and he averaged it over his first 5 years.
@Sovnarkom yeah, I mentioned it seeing as how that's what he played in, why not refer to it. Thanks for the tidbit. I will check that out. It's good to learn
@IBdaPrince Magic Johnson played forward in his NCAA championship game and in Kareem's absence (ankle injury) during Game 6 of the 1980 NBA finals - he started at Center and by the end of the game, had played every position on the court. When he made his comeback in the 1995-1996 season, he was listed as a Power Forward.
