  • I miss the old YTV. It's just not what it once was.

  • They should bring back the 1990's tv shows and cartoons for YTV and Nick too. Maybe if everybody were to email or write them letters for the 1990's then maybe yes.

  • makes want to cry how much i could go back to that time.Shit was so simplier then

  • The 90's were sooo cool!

Only bad thing about the 90's was drugs...and fluorescent clothing!

  • nothing like african christian on a ytv logo.

  • Third Was From 1993, Not 1992!

  • @jasongunning2468 Thanks for the correction, dude!

  • @jasongunning2468 well it was FROM 1992, i remember

  • They had a very interesting "Happy Holidays" ID one Christmas season. It had the red and yellow globe from a previous ID and it was in a pile of snow while it was snowing. Part of the singing from the fist ID shown here was playing.. there was a peace symbol on top of the globe and it zoomed toward the symbol and a light shone from behind it. There were no words written or spoken. I thought it was a very surreal and still beautiful Happy Holidays message. if anyone has it please show it.

  • Ahh rember back when that was hd video

  • The first part used to scare me and give me nightmares for some reason.

  • I want to see Dudley the Dragon: Dudley Meets the Alien.

  • Anyone who grew up in Canada during the 1990s owes a piece of their childhood this station. Shame its such a crapshoot now.

  • @CoolXer0 I hear ya!

  • @CoolXer0 And just think, in 15 years, those are are growing up on YTV now are going to look at idents from 2010 and say, "Man, YTV was so great in 2010! What happened?"

    Yikes.

  • I wish i had ytv shoes.

  • When I was a kid I always pictured WWF Wrestling on this channel.

  • Ytv isn't like Nickelodeon. it's more of a family channel type of things with some shows from nick and other really random stuff like America;s funniest video or things like Wolverine and the x-men or teen titans. Which is cartoon network. So its just a general kids channel.

  • brings back such good memories! when the world was such a great place to live in :)

  • Guess what, guys? I know that Nickelodeon DIDN'T exist in Canada(YTV is supposed to be "similar" to Nickelodeon that we have in the US), but Nickelodeon is supposed to be a station in Canada on November 2, 2009, and is supposed to be having SOME, but not all of Nickelodeon's old programs from the 90's(which I know that YTV used to air in the 90's as well).

  • Man I miss the 90's!

  • you and me both

  • The first two IDs rock my world. They are quintessentially "night time." When I was a kid and used to stay up at night and see that ID come on, it used to rock my world. It's so simple and yet the colours they used were so perfect. They set the mood. And the girl's voice in the background totally set the ambiance. This clip is seriously priceless.

  • YES Night YTV was the best!

  • I'm with ya there. I have a VHS, taped a show off YTV back in the 1992...it plays the 2nd intro, followed by the "5!...4!....3!..." of the Thunderbirds intro.

  • That's the most extreme shoe I've ever seen.

  • badass

  • the zone.... I miss those days, now its just... ew

    oh man!!

    goosebumps!! dont forget those.

sailor moon and dragonball.... those were the days! XD

  • the prompt for the new circle logo is from the christmas theme, the green and red circle logo, that is blue today, was used when they had a voice going ho ho ho slowed down and sped up

  • To solve the problem, add retro and get a new asian the zone host !!

  • wow , now adays things are getting sooo techno, glossy and fine, we need some retro style back!!! NAHAHAHAH

  • fucking rights man now its just all gay shit

  • the shoe!! the freakin shoe lol

  • i totally agre with you man, i hate the shows on now, i cant even watch it anymore(they should make a ytv retro :P)

  • YTV was amazing when I was in high school (that would be 9 years ago)

Now, I feel sad when I see what they have on now.

  • I was a really little kid... but I still enjoyed it and miss it!

  • YTV seemed so much better and far more creative back in the day. Little things like the cool ID's and fillers like the Short Circutz programs they played in between shows really did wonders for the channel. I guess that just goes to show how the times have changed.

  • I hear ya. Ever since that "Keep it weird" slogan took effect it went way down hill. Early '90s YTV was definitely one of the highlights of growing up in Canada.

  • it stayed weird too lol

  • RIGHT ON!! you just summed it up! ...wooot! hey you guys remember the good ol' "UH-OH"

that was the best in the early shows just laughing at the poor fuckers getting slimed!

  • I watched YTV for a very long time since i was like, 2 yrs old, and times have changed but it's still the best station in the nation after all those years. fot their anniversary, they aired some old shows they used to have like, rocko's modern life, goosebumbs, hit list and DBZ for a whole week!

  • The only thing thats any good on YTV is Naruto and half the time its being bumped by some dumb movie or Storm Hawks marathon.

It has gone way downhill over the last few years.

  • Aint that the truth, YTV sucks big time now.

Wish they get rid of that awful show Prank Patrol and that idiot host.

    I miss PJ Jenn!!!

  • Do you know what's strange? I don't know if Shining time Station was on YTV or not because I remember after the credits there was one logo then there was the first logo where the blueI don't know if I might be dreaming or something do you guys remember?

  • i remember the first one at latenight after some shows yeah this brings back memories

  • :) good times.

  • Cool

  • wow its so weird seeing something everyday after school for like 4 years, not seeing it for over almost 2 decades and then stumbling across it on you tube. thanks, this is a great clip. also your icon rocks

  • This is so early 90s!

  • Wow.

I am so glad I came across this,

Making me think back to when I was real young.... 7..

  • I wasn't even born when all these idents were on TV & I got to say that they're waaaaaaaaay better than the ones from today

  • ahhhh the old YTV was greatness...back when they had that phil dude there.

  • That first one used to scare me when I was a youngun.

  • haha i agree with you, about how non-kiddie YTV was back then. Now, you might as well be watching tree house.

They used to have some awesome shows. REMEMBER SQUAWK BOX?! That was one of my favourite shows. That, and Bump in the Night, Rugrats, and i also vaguely remember a gameshow where they'd put you in a chamber and pour green goop on you if you didn't answer the question right.

  • I believe that game show was called "Uh-Oh!"?

x___o Its been too long, lol. xD

  • it was oh oh

  • It's ALIVE!!! Is the name of the show.

    Uh-Oh was a spin-off.

  • Does anyone remember a show called (correct me on spelling) "Xtreme" or "Extreme" with all the random clips of sports and other stuff with music playing the whole show? And at the end of the show they showed the track list of all the bands that had a song played in the show of that episode? It played early to mid 90s if I can remember correctly. Can anyone remember and help out on tracking this amazing show down?

  • YTV is the best channel ever!! it has the best shows and movies i never seen this on ytv but still I love it!!!

  • haha. shoe.

  • Also YTV used to have some edginess back then. It used to be that they had some high quality shows on that nobody else was airing at the time. Now they have third rate shows that other networks have cancelled.

  • I loved the rainbow YTV Ident. It sounds angelic.

  • me too and I wasn't even around yet, born in1995

  • According to TheDarkOfNight, the last ID wasn't used until 1993 or 1994.

  • To tell the year, it would be 1994-1995 that the YTV Shoe ID was used.

  • wow i remember all of these!!

  • Lol I remember the first one xD YTV, telivision in general and LIFE itself was way better in the 90's

  • i wouldnt rember this. i wasnt born yet lol

    i was born in 93

  • same her

  • I was 15.

  • i don't remember ANY of these, but they're good. I like the first one. Shows everyone that YTV wasn't kid stuff.

  • I like the shoe logo a lot, that rock tune was sure kickass!

  • This looks like something my cousin would see at school if he watched a video in class

  • the first 2 sound like Windows vista beta sounds. The last one sounds like Teenagers after they tasted beer.

  • aww man.... this is..... beautiful...

    tv was so much cleaner.

  • you make me teary-eyed.... at the very end of the 1st bumper, they used to clip it (so it's just the blue part falling down) and use it at the end of certain shows...

  • When i was younger, YTV used to air all sorts of cool shows, now YTV is a giant sack of shit.

  • Wow this is from the golden days of Ytv, before it came all "weird" and "Gross" and "kiddy"

  • Yep, but recently they've gone back to more streamlined look, better imo

  • lmfao man i remember these days sooo good

  • I remember the first one and the shoe.

  • LOL

  • lol i remember the shoes vivedly

  • Those were the times...

  • Lol well I guess there's always gonna be change.

Cause I bet people from the 80s hated the 90s shows? Maybe? lol

  • ...LOL that's funny.

But yeah, YTV really has turned into garbage. The Zone isn't even that great anymore...and gah I dunno. The shows always try too hard to appease to the audience, they're not funny, and BLAH. Plain garbage.

  • That and the TV spots on there are enough to make you want to move to America.

  • ...Why does the shoe seem so familiar? It seems weird, I was born in 1991 so remembering a 92-93 YTV logo seems weird.

But seriously, that shoe is SO incredibly familiar haha.

  • Does anybody have the one with the skateboard and the slogan was " You Rule"?

  • The first ID was my favorite next to the Driveing Chair.

I even remember this cool dream I had with the same music.

  • werid music and flying shoes werid but very classic

  • Omg ytv i wasnt even born back then but i love ytv

  • I remember the first two...

  • i love ytv but know it's gay cause of all that anime and baby shows

  • Ah yes.. the days of Deke Wilson's Mini Mysteries, The Hit List W/ Tarzan Dan and Wild n Crazy Kids.

  • Oh, man, those were my top favourite shows...Wild N' Crazy kids (with Omar Gooding!) was great.

  • Man, this brings me back

  • Holy cow!! I can't believe I remember this (but vaguely). As an aside, I've been looking for proof lately that YTV at one point stood for youth television because YTV has been currently denying this.

  • They used to stand for Youth Television I remember this question was aired on one of the Zone's Time Slots (can't remember who was the host though) I remember when The Zone was actually worth watching and I'm trying to find a show called Radio Active but can't find anything. I should have taped it back when it still airing.

  • That shoe one looks pretty cartoony to me.

  • I like the first two, but don't like the 3D shoe for some reason.

  • By the way how long were each of these used because i remember seeing alot of them in mid-late ninties

  • does anybody remember the show with the animal pupets one named Ricky one named Charlie and there was another but i cant remember her name.

  • Um could you be thinking of the Waterville Gang?

  • KITTY CAT CORNER

  • I miss Old Skool YTV. It takes me back to when I was 15 and I didn't have a care in the world. I wonder what they're going to do for their 20th aniversary next year? Next year it had better be good.

  • Old Skool YTV was when I was 6, yeah, good times.

  • Wow! I vaguely remember these. I think I must have been around 4 years old.

  • honestly I forgot these even exsisted...holy shit now I know where these came from, I always remember hearing them when I was younger

  • i still wanna see that purple prickly logo, i used to live in canada then moved to australia in 1998 all i remember was that tv logo, and the zone :D

  • Haha you recorded them back then? Awesome.

  • This and the junkyard sign one are my favorites. Man where did you get these?

  • Good old videotapes.

  • Do you have any of the logos or idents from the "Keep It Weird" era?

  • theyre good! darn you!

  • LOL! This is so horrible!

  • need more they are so awsome!

  • This looked awesome!!

However, that logo at the beginning, didn't it have a shorter version, & if anyone has it, can they upload it please?

  • awsome those looked cool!
