Lol I have two, I never got any problems with it, I Just keep them clean everyday. Mines don't hurt when I squeeze them to clean. And cause I clean them everyday i never have much pus inside. I have been to the doctors cause of it, they said it is normal. But my I never had a big abscess.
I have Preauricular Sinus and I get em on both sides of my face by my ear. Every couple of months I have a flare up and they get infected. They drain pus and are so painful. :-( and the flare ups are leaving scars on my face. I'm just so scared of the surgery due to the nerves on the side of the face. I dont know what to do.
I have a Preauricular Sinus, it may be infected and it should have been operated on when I was a baby, so this is very useful to learn about and have more information for my own condition. Great video!
Wow! Very educational. I did not know this condition existed, but it was nice that he showed how it gets that way in the first place and how to fix it! Thanks!
Thank you Dr Soh for your skilful hands on my girl Betty. We were desperated after 2 unsuccessful ops at KK hospital. Wish there were more skilful doctors like yourself. Thanks to your staff for their care and concern. may God bless you.
I got the same thing but mine is not infected(i think) because pus never comes out of it just some type of water. will surgery still be considered? Please respond
I've had a Preauricular ear pit for all of my life, I am 18. Apparently it's the "infected" type because i have pus coming out from it every so often. But it has never bothered me to the point where I need it surgically removed. I have only gotten it infected one, but I'm scared to think how long it has expanded. I have no Abscess cavity or have ever gotten one, but is there a chance to get the cavity if I don't remove the pit?
I used to get these when I was a teenager, and I thought they were just random cystic acne! They would be deep underneath and soooo sore. The same location like in the first photo, every single time. I would pierce them with a hot needle (bad idea, I know, this was many years ago) and they would drain. I haven't had one in many years, but interesting to see that it may not have been what I thought it was.
The surgery looks intense, but remember ur sedated or asleep. Have the surgery and a little discomfort for a few days and ur gold. Seriously will be a boost to you life when it's all and done with.
I had the surgery and the hole is gone. Like I said before I was in my early teens and it made me very self conscious. The surgery was successful and effective. There is no more hole just a tiny scare. I don't know about having a ear infection. I never had any real discomfort. Maybe a faint tingling feeling where the canal was. Other than that everything was fine. Hope that helps.
@Mairocks81 hi.. I just had an operation on May2010.. then after 2 months I took a plane. When I was on the plane my ear was really painful and just after that trip.. I got an infected ear again... :(
I'm in ageny, but I don't know if I have an ear infection. My ears kill when I yawn, eat, sleep on them, and I can't hear a thing out of my right ear. When I lean my head to the right, some water slowly comes out of my ear.. is this an ear infection? I've never had one before, but the pain is unbeilevable. I tell my friends my ears kill and that I swear I have an ear infection.. but obviously they can't do anything about it. Please reply telling me if I have one or not. Thankyou.
@MusiklzMyLife you obviously do! See a docter!!! That's not water coming out of your ear... it's drainage fluids. I'm no docter, but I know what's happening to you my friend. :)
the surgery was very neatly done. most surgeries to remove the preauricular sinus won't remove such a large portion - the example shown was so large because it had become infected. if you remove your sinus before it gets to that state, there's just a tiny bit removed with hardly any blood at all. the operation's well worth it - actually having the infection and not being able to find doctor who knew what it was happened to me. the entire left side of my face was swollen and distended :(
@teddet87 i had the surgery done when i was in 8th grade so however old you are then and I am 29 now. It's been successful. Since then I've had no problem just a lil phantom itching...but nothing unusual besides that. I was so embarrassed having mine I am so happy i got it removed. The surgery is worth it in the end and you barely feel anything after the surgery. Hope that helps
wow I love I am able to see this--I almost feel like in a next life I'd love to be in the medical field someway--surgery is so interesting and important
This is spectacular! My g'dtr needs this procedure, so I watched in interest. Now I'm replaying it just to listen to the music!! Excellent choice, thank you!
