i love this foundation too and i have pretty bad acne prone skin, and i felt that it broke me out more especially because it's so thick. i use it for special occasions and i looked in the ingredients cause it was so good and it said it had cement in it which i realized really clogged up my pores. Just to let you know! :)

Hey love, just wanted to share....ingredients background. Make up forever (which I heart always) is a great product, for commercial work....However the Matte, can be breaking you out. THe stuff that is in it could be causing you to have bad skin break outs. ;) Love Mercier. I think its wonderful. Just be careful because you could be having allergic reactions. :) XO

Im not sure what you have used to prevent breacking out but heres a few tips that may help. Never never use your bath towel to dry your face, Always use oil free products moisterizer,face wash foundation exc, exfoliate at least twice a week if not every other day. becareful what you use in your hair cause what you put in your hair can breack you out to. and wash pillow casses at least once a week. hope these work for you, they worked for me just thought id share.

I'd like to disagree, you DO look natural with the Laura Mercier foundation. I can't be 100% accurate, because it's a video, but I look at you and see smokey eye, not smokey eye + foundation. Just FYI :)

fingers are actually EXTREMELY terrible way to apply make up if you're worried about bacteria. try using maybe a disposable sponge, but dont use your fingers, all you're doing it creating and spreading bacteria regardless of washing your hands.

@xxflirtywinks i would be lying if i said this is going to give you "flawless looking skin" :( acne is just sooo soo horrible and i'm guilty of caking on make-up in hopes of hiding it..but in all honesty, i'd probably suggest using as little as possible, but putting emphasis on something like your eyes or hair (something other than your skin) go ahead and try this out, but don't go overboard, i'm sure it can hide some flaws! :)

I have the samee exact problem with my skin and Mat Velvet is the most amazingg foundation ever with its great full coverage, but recently ran out and am thinking about repurchasing.. however after watching this video you make the Laura Mercier one sound real nice.. @stina188 yes! they both do the same job in regards to keeping me 'matte' (i'm oily even w/out foundation, so NO foundation has ever kept me completely shine-free)..but i know what you mean because i questioned it since it wasn't specifically for oily skin..although, it is for combination skin, so it works great for oily skin! ;)

@hotpink760 yeah i always need full coverage to cover everything :( ha but i'm glad i've found a foundation i love..my sis (who has somewhat similar skin, but actually better) tried the revlon photoready and it's a bit shimmery (horrible for oily skin) so i don't like that one, but idk about the colorstay..i feel like a lot of times the people who review it are ppl w/ good skin so of course many foundations will look good..in my case, i need something amazing, which is this! good luck!
