i use a rca to aux cable that plugs into the microphone port, but it sounds like complete crap, it records to loud.

@lilnicky194 most likely a driver issue, check out my channel and comment on the video that starts to let me know it help, sub if it works, as it did for me, im on vista, and this works for win 7 as well

With mine both the sound and video is distorted.

The sound quality is reduced and almost sounds staticky and the bottom edge of the video is distorted and the right side of the captured video has a black border.

None of the other resolutions for this that were posted seem to work.

Try going into your Audio Hardware settings and setting the sample rate and bit depth of the EasyCap USB Audio to the highest setting, should be 48000hz. From this I gather the quality of the EasyCap audio input it higher than the default rate resulting in a distorted stream. I've this problem on both my Mac and my PC, give it a try.

Are you running Vista/Win7? Right click the mixer icon in the system tray until you get a list, and click on recording devices. It will bring up a list of every recording device in your computer, a USB audio device should be in that list. Right click on it and select properties. Go to the last tab and there should be a drop down menu where you can select the sample rate.

lolz i have the opposite problem... i can record the sound but the picture stays black, as u can see in one of my videos it came up black nd white for sum reason lol and thats the best ive had, its not picking up at all

if u want to use your com screen as the display for your console and you want sound go to "options" "video and audio capture property settings" then click "Preview sound with USB Device" hope this helps

There's a setting in Windows Movie Maker called NTSC_433 that allows you to record in 60HZ/PAL 60 mode using colour. I used that.

Hey, I'm guessing you've got 2 sets of RCA ports on your TV? I haven't personally tested it but I would assume no as the TV would recognise the 2 sets of ports as 2 different AV channels. But that's only my assumption.

If your capturing from the Ulead Studio, Goto Video options, theres a thing that lets you fix the volume. If you already did that, I would suggest checking to see if the AV cables are in correct outputs. If that still isn't the case. It maybe a Product Fault.

I'm not using Ulead Studio, Windows movie maker. But either way I've checked the volume/audio settngs and they seem to be fine. And yep, I've checked the AV cables aswell. I'm going to try contacting who I bought it from.

Hey, I do show my set-up using WMM in one of my videos, you have to change the audio imput source, and if you already did that then how are you connecting the easycap to your 360 and your T.V.?

Hey, thanks for that but I've sorted it now :]

Right then, the set up I've got is 3 RCA Splitters which are plugged into the composite ports on the TV.

Then I've got the 360 composite cables plugged into one set of the RCA splitter ports and a RCA to RCA cable plugged into the other RCA splitter ports. The other end of the RCA to RCA cable is plugged into the Easycap. That should work.

I had the same problem with the audio, but I got it working somewhat. I have Vista, so what I did was go to Control Panel, then click on Sound, in the playback tab click on the speakers, then go to the Advance tab, then in Default format change it to 16 bit (I had it on 24 bit). After that the video had sound in the new recordings. Some of them didn't have sound but after pressing play, stoping, going back and pressing play again the sound would appear. Hope this works for U
