  • The jazzy mood reminds me of Janis Ian's 'miracle row' album and Joni Mitchell's 'Don Juan's reckless daughter', both recorded around the same time. I also hear echoes of COS' 'Viva Boma' (COS is a belgian "canterbury" band fronted by Pascale Son). Great artist who deserves more recognition.

  • ジャジーな拡がりを持つ、キャロライン・ペイトンのナイス曲"JUST AS WE"

  • Caroline, I can still hear you singing, Try To Remember at GWHS. Your perfect voice and performance is still unmatched by anyone since then.

  • She has a stunning voice and I have loved this album for many a year...I had the great good fortune of appearing on and off Broadway with her in The Human Comedy....she was a sweet and talented gal...and I am sure she still is....(Daniel Noel-Felix)

  • thanks guy for posting all those obscure and rare jems!! this is a fantastic job that you are doin'!!!! very precious !

you make live again all this music that otherwise it 'be complitly forgotten

  • Nice. -jack and diane (Bloomington, 1967-71)

  • Hello friends! I guess you all know by now that my old BarBQ Records from Bloomington, Indiana have in fact been reissued on the Numero/Asterisk label out of Chicago. If I were you I would buy my Celtic Christmas Spirit if you can find one on eBay or Amazon. It is my baby. Thanks for your interest and for remembering me.

  • @peytunes i love you..thx for the music

  • Aloha Caroline; memories of the past.

    Peace, Love & Light

    James Prattas

  • First saw Caroline with the Screaming Gypsy Bandits in the old stadium on 10th St in Bloomington in 1971. They blew away all of the big named national acts on the bill. They were the house band at the Blue Bird one summer and I spent all of the money I made on cover and beer. The band did a cover of "One Night Affair"...it was all most of us young men in the audience could think about.

  • This is my mom. I love this song.

  • I opened for Caroline at Doug Weston's Troubadour in the early 80's. Always wondered what happened to her....

  • My god! The music -- the comments! It was a great time in Bloomington! My buddy TJ was on guitar. Did you know that Mark Bingham is the cover boy on the Sept 2009 OffBeat Magazine in New Orleans?

  • I used to see Caroline at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN in the 70's. I had her album and loved every song on it. I played it hundreds of times!! Can I get it on CD?

  • Lovely-word 2 Essra Mohawk.

  • @tskilove Essra! I would love to get together with you in Nashville. I have lived here almost 20 years and ran to Grimey's to hear your in store performance. Had to leave before the end. I am a big fan of yours. Let's have lunch!

  • I used to listen to Caroline & Mark, and of course the Screamin' Gypsies in the early 70s in Bloomington. Fantastic music and performances. Yes, I'd love to know if any of that music is re-issued.

  • Caroline was a great singer in Indianapolis in late 70's. At the Hummingbird at 22nd and Talbott. One night you could go in and listen to Caroline, the next night you could go in and listen to John Hiatt, when he was just starting out. (or vice-versa)Talk about a one/two for the weekend. I often wondered what became of her -- and now find she sang in Disney animations? wow. Her stuff should be re-issued. I would down a bottle of Old Vine Zin and just listen my ears off. Just like old days.

  • Anyone have source for other old bar-b-q products? Like the Screamin' Gypsy Bandits?

  • Caroline Peyton, Bob Lucas and Mark Bingham did a concert on May 9, 2009, in Bloomington, IN. It was called "The Chickens Come Home to Roost" concert.

I just wrote Bob asking about a re-release of his stuff on Bar-b-q. Hope this gives you a lead.

  • The Screaming Gypsies . . . what a band!! Saw them at Middle Earth in Indpls, IN. Then I got hooked on Caroline Peyton and Bob Lucas. Two of the greatest things about growing up in Indiana. Besides Mason Proffit, of course.

  • Mock-up can be purchased from Amazon. On this newly released CD are 3 cuts from the Screaming Gypsies

  • That girl from Evanescence (or however say it) sounds just like her

  • Word is they're reprinting 'Mock Up', 1972.

  • Always loved Engram off Wayfaring Strangers. Such an under rated record.

  • I love Engram too!!! Amazing voice, amazing song :)

  • this is my mommie too!!!!

  • I saw her open in San Francisco for the Kung Fu dude, she was the one we came to see. They should release this record.

  • they did!!! yea!!!

  • @LazloLorenzo You mean the late great David Carradine. Guess what. I opened for his brother Keith (I'm EASY) also during my career. CP

  • she has a recording contract now!!!

  • this is my mom!

  • For real?

Is it true that she does music for Disney now?

  • for real!

well, she did music for Disney when she had her career! she is kinda old now! she was in Pocahantas and the Hunchback and Beauty and the Beast..

  • @ogoperasinger Only my own child would say I was "kinda old." CP Check her out on YouTube with Thoth/Central Park/Pink Angel or Lila'Angelique.

  • @zoodden Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Hunchback. Claim to fame: top voice in the three ditzy blondes in BEAUTY.

  • Loved this song since first hearing it on one of Gilles Peterson's Brownswood albums. Thanks for sharing this gem with us!!
