It's actually pulling it out of a pouch on it's hip. King Gainer has one just like it that it keeps it's Chaingunsword in as well (which makes sense since XAN is basically a samurai/ninja styled King Gainer.

@tranceotaku If only that was the real problem...the real problem is Copyrights.Th reason why the SRW games aren´t released outside of japan is because the robots in the game are from several diferent animes,most of them only released in japan and i think Banpresto had some kind of copyright issiues

If anyone's wondering what XAN's importance in the story is, here it is:

There's apparently a little "epilogue" to the book "Metropolis" (from Big O) that recorded the events of the Black History. XAN is the core and brain of something called the "Executor System," which is something like a fallback plan for the Black History (if the Black History failed to occur, Executor System activates to finish it). It's apparently sentient, however, as it "says" some words before disappearing.

Misc notes about the epilogue:

Gym Ghingham survived the events of Z. And then gets killed off for real (probably).

Touma arrives in the Aquarion and eventually leaves, convinced to "watch" humanity's actions (so he may appear again).

Setsuko gets her team back. She's considered the Ace of Glory Star to boot. There's awkwardness at the fact that the new Densel and Toby are different from the one's Setsuko knows, but that quickly gets swepted away.

As far as I know, he only appears as an action figure. I know Revoltech made a figure of him, but beyond that, I have no idea.

There's reference in the show of a King Gainer model failing to become the overdevil. Evidence suggests this was the machine that didn't quite make it all the way to Overdevil status.

His appearance was invented by the Revoltech makers, and his weapons were pretty much put together entirely by the SRW team.

thats why i was wondering why there was a Black King Gainer (im still dreaming of a season 2! and i thought XAN would be the hero! still piloted by Gainer Sanga!) but theres my answer!

as for his appearance that is just so cool! from toy to video game...sweet! and the SRW team even worked on his weapons so that makes it even cooler! then again if he were to get his own series... what would his attacks be like?

They don't mention it explicitly. Just that the King Gainer is of Overdevil genus and a mention there was a King Gainer model that didn't fully evolve.

It really was nothing but a throwaway reference and no plot came of it, but someone made an action figure and the rest is history

XAN appears as the boss of the extra Special Disc mission that takes place after the events of Z.

Investigating the disturbances ZEUTH finds the remaining autonomous Chimera Mobile armors lead by XAN.

He's a very tough boss, his Overskill gives 100% chance to use Bunshin/double image, gives him perfect accuracy, and cuts all damage taken by 75%

If XAN is relevant to the plot it'll be to the plot of SRW:Z2

Allow me an interjection:

You're talking out of the wrong end, now.

Dynamic Kill is a fan term in at least on sense, even if Banpresto coined it (I'm not certain on the history). If the fans say it's not a dynamic kill, then... It's not a dynamic kill. And that Tragic Genocider is not a Dynamic Kill. Banpresto adding an additional animation doesn't make it dynamic, though it is a nice tough, and I don't mind them doing more of it.

Actually there really are a few attacks that have extra animations if the target is destroyed while retaining the usual death animation. Not sure if that's a dynamic "kill" exactly but its a notable difference. Was dynamic kill an official or fan coined term?

Actually constraint... Dynamic Kills were changed abit. I suggest you go to search "Super Robot Taisen Z Shurouga All attacks V2" and look at Shurouga Tragic Genocider, Dynamic kill. The enemy is still standing there. Dynamic kill can be considered an added scene now, not that I know much about Xan's move sets... so before calling someone a dumbfuck, at least try looking at other character dynamic kill moves from the same game before getting mad...
