Awesome poster...maybe of the best(horror poster) of the 70's...however, the monster in the movie didn't really live up to that creepy image in the poster, this flick deserves a remake..as it suffered from 1970's limitations coceptionally.....the nighttime campsite attack was pretty scary though when i saw it as a kid though.
Rosenmans score makes this movie work, despite its shortcomings. Its in a field all of its own and chills you to the bone, the stuff of nightmares, while at the same time sending you soaring. His work on Bakshis Lord of the Rings does similar great things
FSM just released this on CD. Funny story: I found the bootleg and seriously considered attaining it, but then I thought, 'Nah. It'll come out on a real CD someday." I did *not* expect that day to be yesterday.
Awesome suite. The opening and closing bits (deeerh-deeerh-deeerh!!) are best of all.
Leonard Rosenman was known for his film and television work, fondly remembered for the main scores to the television shows "Combat!" and "Marcus Welby,MD"....not to mention that scores to "East Of Eden",and "Rebel Without A Cause"..."Prophecy" was his greatest work as a film composer.

I would say Fantastic Voyage was his greatest work as film composer. Certainty his most effective, a true masterpiece.
