The cake will be even lighter if you combine the flour with the egg yolk mixture BEFORE you add the egg whites. Also, just a bit of vanilla adds an extra touch :0)

yes, i had the same problem. except for that, this cake looked and tasted great!. Next time i am going to try it by using more than the mentioned amount of vanilla essence to mask the egg odor.
very good liked it u can before u bake the cake put a pan with water and put the pan with cake and then u can bake it after that the cake will have no cut or nothing on the cake and the cake will be smooth on the top looks great like this
for aoviding the middle falling in. cook for a little longer. :)

i think thats one of the reason why the my cake wrecks. twice it happened to me but until now i still cannot find out the reason why.
The cake is rising too high whle baking then in the end, the sides are totally not cake-looking and uneven.
