Vocally---what a gift!!! However, she didn't use her voice in a way that could've maximized the song. I feel she was a bit too heavy on some parts with the more powerful notes. She should have accentuated and went softer.

The first time I heard her sing his song (one of my all-time favorite tunes), she sent shivers down my spine and I haven't heard the song sung like this (even to this day). What an amazing vocal range and she totally made the song her own. Can't fathom why Simon came up with all that nonsense about her technique and song choice.

Ugh, it's because AI is a popularity contest more than a singing contest. And most people who vote on AI are apparently from the Midwest and the South. Go figure. It's no wonder that gay dude, Katharine Mcphee, and Carly Smthson, who is a foreign national with tatoos, lost, and that deadpan Southern dude, Taylor Hicks, and that other far more "wholesome" dude than the gay guy from this season won. Just speaking real....

i think it's because she's not from the south or something. i think most people who vote on AI are more republican than democrat, southern or midwestern than northern or coastal, conservative than liberal, and more suburban than urban. i hear that the ratings for AI are like huge in suburban southern and midwestern areas but only respectable in urban areas. it's like how katharine mcphee and chris daughtery lost aganist taylor hicks. it's very hard to win AI if you can't appeal to that demo.

I love her voice, and she sings this song well. HOWEVER the song sucks! I don't like this song at all. Bad choice b/c I'm sure she's thinking "Oh this song will showcase my talent" b/c it shows range, and how well she can express emotion, but the song is not good. I hate the melody.
