for me the reason why people love Afridi is bcz he pops up out of no where when every one is down. Like in this match the commentator said now even prayers can't save Pakistan.. and guess what? it did. 2nd bcz he comes on with so much positive attitude and energy. thatz why his duck didn't hurt pakistanis as much as Misbah's 50 did in semi final vs india.

another great innings for him really its not about the stats its all about winning the match and afridi done some great work in this first an agressive 50 and then a five-for and i can see people arguing about tendulkar 200 and other great innings but look theres a difference between those knocks and afridis played in this odi remember Pakistan we're losing this game and SL ain't no weak opposition and he came out of nowhere and won it if anything i will say best allround performance of 2011

There have been dozens of times when a "captains" knock has been needed and then he throws his wicket away going for an unnecessary hack over midwicket. eg test match against aus in england 2010, afridi comes in with the score at 80 odd for 5 and get a quick 30 and then gets out

He was the bowler of the World Cup, and he was man of the two world t20's. He has countless of records in ODIs, and he has even got a 150 in tests.
