Congressional hearings and millions of tax dollars were used to investigate juicing; just the ones who won at that. I'm all for clean sports, but there were at least 200 actual national security issues for the federal government to tend to. If we started seeing an epidemic of bald, freakishly ripped 7th graders tossing desks across classrooms and breaking Olympics records, understandable. But I lost faith in congress long before the debt-ceiling fiasco; like investigating this and invading Iraq.

What people don't realize is that during the "steroids era", it wasn't just the batters using PED's. Those pitchers (Andy Pettite, for example) weren't exactly innocent. The pendulum swings both ways.

It wouldn't be 10% as bad if he would've admitted it right off the bat. Now he's denied it so long that he doesn't really have that option anymore. He's too invested in his lie. Say what you want about Barry. From 2000 - 2004 he was the best hitter I ever saw. During that span he hit .339, averaged 52 HR, 109 RBI, and 174 BB per season. His On base % was .535 and his slugging % was almost .800. And for all that power, he only struck out 63 times/year. We know he was chemically enhanced during those years, but man he was awesome. I remember in the 2002 playoffs John Smoltz threw a 99 MPH fastball at Barry's letters that he blasted about 500 ft. Such a quick bat.
