catfish do sting you, they have a protein in theyre spines that when stuck by one, (i hear) feels alot like a wasp sting. a remedy i hear for it is to wet some cigarette tobacco and rub it on the sting, not sure if it works but worth a shot

Catfish DO NOT sting you. But the two fins stickin out of their sides can poke you. It's called getting "horned".
