I Dont know if Mayweather is one of the greatest fighter or not. Maybe he is but all I know about Floyd that he is smart in picking his opponents and knowing when he should fight them. Sugar Ray: has extremely quick hands and has a height and reach advantage on Floyd Mayweather. He was an amazing Offensive boxer. As you can see him just getting hit and striking back.
Floyd's greatest strength is his defense. It's like he knows what punch you'll do before you do it.
However, Ray's hands might've been faster than Floyd can dodge.

@Bossrah Hagler would have been out boxed easily. Watch the fight with Leonard and Hagler, and you'll notice that he can get outboxed. Mayweather would not have brawled with him, he would have boxed him, and he would have won very easily. Let's not forget styles. Mayweather isn't going to lose to no brawler, you have to have skills. Hearns went wrong because he brawled with Hagler, but if he boxed him, he would have won easily also. He made the same mistake Forrest did with Mayorga.

if you don't see the sameness in Sr & Jr's styles ya need glasses. Jr has perfected the shoulder roll to block punches. he has quicker hands and better foot work too; Sr was hard to hit too. Thing is SRL had power as a welter weight that Jr wishes he had. SRL didn't have the D Jr; but in every other category was better. Jr never has never got in the ring with the likes of a Hit Man or Hands of Stone, and he sure won't fight a LH that punched like a mule Donny LaDon.

I'm a huge mayweather fan, however I think Sugar Ray back in the day would probably beat him and here are the reasons why: Strengths and weaknesses.
Sugar Ray: has extremely quick hands and has a height and reach advantage on Floyd Mayweather. He was an amazing Offensive boxer. As you can see him just getting hit and striking back.
Floyd's greatest strength is his defense. It's like he knows what punch you'll do before you do it.
However, Ray's hands might've been faster than Floyd can dodge.

This is a close call but for me it tips towards Leonard just because Duran Hearns and Hagler are better than anybody Floyd has fought and with the exception of Hagler(who a little past due) Leonard beat the greats of his day in their primes and these were all time greats, Mayweather has beaten his share of ;legends but for the most part they were either finished as elite fighters or they were just the best of their time but not all time. So for the Last time, The only reason why this fight has not happened(read this carefully) Is because Manny Has not Signed the contract to fight Floyd with Random Olympic Style Blood Testing. Leonard was one of the best welterweights that has ever entered the game. After leaving that division, he seemed to avoid fighting in the ring and turn to running, pitty patty flurries that impressed the dance contest judges and the dancing loving public. As a welterwieght, he dominated without a doubt and silenced nearly all, besides a very fired up Duran.......Leonard vs Mayweather? Who knows. I would pick Leonard hands down. Floyd wouldn't even have survived Hearns, who Leonard knocked out.
