I dont know why people are getting so worked up. I'm an Indian and I agree that what the Col's saying could be correct! Who's to say as none of the people who have commented here have had anything to do with Red Flag. But he also has got some points wrong. And please all the fanboys- the main thing is the pilot. A good pilot would get his way some way or the other, yes having a great jet helps but its the pilot after all.

First su-30MKI is not fighter, than su-30M(K) and su-30MKI is not the same plane, just for India. su-30MK is improved version of su-27PU, M means MULTI-ROLE (многоцелевой) and su-30MKI menas Modernizirovannyi Kommercheskiy Indiski (Modernized Commercial India) , he speak about air flight like teen boy, not like pilot. MIG-21 BISON dont have Israel RADAR end ECM he had Rusian Kopyo (Spear) radar end Rusian ECM.

The engines problem that you points to is not a best option to have in the war. So...two things to improve, give more training, gets them off the TVC addiction and building OUR ENGINE!,

Basically. He clearly admits, that the SU30MKI, is BETTER, if not to a certain extent, but clearly at a higher level than the F15 and F16. He then spends the rest of the time bagging on the SU30MKI and how it lacks aagainst the F22 as a sort of justification that it's 'not that great'. He points out that the only way they can best the SU30 is through flight tactics they only learned THROUGH fighting their own F22.

USAF had TVC program running since early 80s. Way ahead of Russia (F-15 AFTI/ X-31 F-18 HARV etc). Then it became obvious that there were no tactical value - as seen in ROFO 92 event by Boeing. F-22 has vertical TVC with variable control only for short runway takeoff usage, but not for dog fight. I really can't imagine any of Sukhoi / Mig using TVC in actual combat situation.

yes the f-22 uses it for dogfight, the TVC used for STO is only the kind used by the harriers and jsf. the TVC program of the USA was cancelled because the find the tactical value COMPARED to the costs of implementing them in every f-16, f-15 not enough because the the USAF relied more on long range missiles

Pretty good @ rewriting history, the Talibans was supported by Pakistan Intelligence. The group that fought the Soviets was the Northern Army but lost control of Afghanistan to the Taliban in the early 1990s. The Northern Army were isolated so they were loosing ground.

The F-22 is a fighter, so were not used in Afgan, it was mostly a ground force action with bombers dropping smart bombs & did defeat the Taliban & Al-queda now hiding in the mountains.
