Do you know if it is called by any other name? There is a web site (animated knot [dot] com) that has pics - which I sure need, LOL - to show each step for a long list of knots; however, I couldn't find a listing for 'jug knot'. Thanks very much :-).

@Petegrin1 - A jug sling knot tightens and stays tight. A slip knot will open back up as easily as it closes. For a semi-permanenet handle, this is much better.
isnt paracord going to melt if you hang it over a fire?

why not use a slip knot?

@Petegrin1 You could use a slip knot. I like the jug knot because it gives you a loop and you have more cord available if you need it.
