  • The professor speaks as if she thinks she is smarter than the executives she's advising. I'd never hire her for that reason...too much ivory-tower pomposity.

  • Ang taong mahadlok sa failure o kapakyasan, mahadlok usab sa success.

  • Talk about bouncing back. Failure doesn't mean the end of all efforts. Must use it constructively. Good vid!

  • This video is not going to help my failing HVAC contracting business I can see !

  • Whether it's Return On Investment or Body Mass Index, measurement provides a comparison of the components of success in business to fitness. It allows us to understand the relationship between our actions and our results. Of course measurement isn"t everything, that"s why we also have observation and experience. From ROI to BMI there are a myriad of measuring sticks; it doesn't matter which ones you use, - as long as you plan to learn not plan to be right as Rita points out.

  • I guess you don't really fail... you just didn't try enough to succeed. I love the idea presented here. I think it's all a matter of perceptions.

  • Amtrack is STILL trying to use failure to grow. So far, nothing. Ditto the postal service. Ve Ri Tas, y'all.

  • As fantastic as all this advice is, it would be a lot more useful if the guest were able to speak a little slower.

  • @paradisehammocks Increase your IQ.

  • Good words. Very informative.

One critique: Make life easier by getting to the point and communicate in a way where we don't have to mould our own minds into your mind whereby your way of communication seems 'natural'.

  • @oombuddah Increase your IQ.

  • @oombuddah Your comment that she needs to be a better communicator is silly. She is a Harvard Grad and is an extremely effective communicator. Simply put, your background and experiences are simply not up to par with her level of communicating or the subject matter. Again, raise your IQ.

  • @alamoghost part 1: You are funny. You just committed a logical fallacy there my friend.

Just because she may be a Harvard Grad, it does not follow that she would be a great communicator in this particular video.

  • @oombuddah part 2: 'is an extremely effective communicator'. I didn't deny that when stating my opinion. This is just your opinion, so again another logical fallacy you committed here.

Same case for the last point, another logical fallacy. How do you know I'm not a Harvard student or say, a Wharton student? Since you love to comment about IQ's. The average IQ for a Harvard student is 120-130, it could be that I have a higher IQ than this.

  • @oombuddah Actually, you may want to look in the mirror when it comes to committing a major or logical fallacy. It's interesting how you took my mere mention (and not the major proponents) of my statement and took it upon yourself to wield it like a sword. Please take the inclination to face the truth and derive what I was really stating to you, " ...you are simply not up to par with her level..." and "raise your IQ". LOL, your Queen was taken by a Pawn :P Dumbass!

  • @alamoghost PART 1 Well you made a cheap statement 'Increase your IQ' so I felt that I should defend myself because it was you who was suffering from a lack of reading comprehension skills and it's evident that you can't stand in the face of logical reasoning hence why you're now resorting to cheap statements such as 'dumbass' and sound very hysterical.

  • @oombuddah PART 2: You picked on the wrong guy. My Queen was taken by a Pawn by someone not playing by the rules of the game. But again this 'truth' that you are talking about is a fallacious premise. It does not follow that I'm false just because you assume I'm not on her 'level'. Just admit your losses and move on. You're the only illogical one here. Everyone can see for themselves. Stop feeling the need to be correct and just accept logical truth.

  • @oombuddah Again, you are a dumbass! You feel the need to defend yourself? In the future, please take the time to review your english and grammer skills. Your lack of skills in these areas are proving my earlier points :)

  • @alamoghost 1. 'you are a dumbass' = a cheap statement void of any reasoning behind it and you won't be able to find any reasoning because logic is not on your side. My grammar and english if fine and even if it wasn't, I'm writing on an informal youtube comments panel, not a doctoral thesis.

I can play that card with you and say 'improve your spelling'. It's grammar, not grammer.

    2. Your lack of skills in these areas are proving my earlier points :) again, another fallacy.

  • @oombuddah Wow, this is really amazing. Again, a Pawn is moved to force your Queen. It's sort of like a cat playing with a mouse. Don't you even realize you are being toyed with and coaxed to respond. The barbaric word 'dumbass' catches your attention because I know it offends you, you responded to the grammar bait that you can't resist, and you use youtube as an excuse to rationalize your inadequacies. However, your spelling improved in your last respond...thanks to me! CYA later sheep :)

  • @oombuddah PART 2: Also, your comment suggests that I did not 'mould my mind into her mind' to be able to fish out the quality information that she gave us from the more irrelevant points that come from her own style which is not helping her communication skills.

  • @oombuddah PART 3: Don't say you don't understand my terminology because your conclusion was based on a premise that I set.

P.S I needed to have a high IQ/aptitude ability (whatever you want to call it) to get onto my degree course.

  • @blackberryjuice1 lol. that should be you. self-awareness fail.

  • she rambles way too much. get to the point!

  • @thegoonist Succinctness fail.

  • @blackberryjuice1 attention-seeking fail

  • @thegoonist Wit fail.

  • I really like the idea that we can use our failures to learn and that we ought to use alternative measures for success other than being "right".

  • thnx for sharing

  • Man! I love learning from smart people

  • Great insight into what makes a business successful

  • The note on risk-taking and rewards (not rewardings stupids) doesnt go together.. When any risk taken results in a failure, it kinda amounts to somebody doing something stupid... and then you do not reward these folks for having taken the risk and failed...then why would anybody want to take risk ?

Its easy to put it in a book, but practically not many companies are happy with failures..
