I'm grateful for artists like Leonard Cohen, and I respect Bono just a little bit more because he recognizes Cohen's greatness. Bono is a better musician than I will ever be that is obvious by the size of his bank account. I think I was drunk when i posted that, either he is still a spec of dust compared to many great artists out there. He has the mtv generation and the 40 year old housewives to thank for his fame.
Very moving version. I've always loved Leonard Cohen's voice, the way he can transmit so much wit and emotion from such a limited range, in addition to which he looks amazingly like my dad. As so many other people have said, it's the lyrics that make his songs so wonderful; a poet first and a singer second.
I'll be the first to admit that Leonard Cohen is, on the vast majority of his recordings, not a technically gifted singer. But what he lacks in vocal ability, he more than makes up for with his lyrics.
"Well my friends are gone and my hair is grey, and I ache in the places where I used to play".
Do you realise how perfectly those lines depict the decay of old age? If you can't respect Cohen as a singer, at least read his lyrics and respect him as a poet.
Fantastic

The most boring song I have ever heard in my life, if at all it can be called as a song...
The only good thing is the background music... The old man's singing just sounds so stupid...

You obviously don't get it so you should just leave your dumb opinions to your own cheap songs that you listen.
Cheers
