Last week a very close friend of mine died and I somehow can't stop thinking of this song, don't know why. It just came to my mind when i heard of his death.
I heard this playing in a small restuarant and loved it. It took me a little while to locate the song since I didn't have a title or any data. It was worth the search! I <3 this song.
i seen them last night!!!they were amazing!!!one of my all time favourite shows!!! the only downside to seeing the original line up is that they dont play any songs from the albums mark olson wasn't on!!so many incredible songs that they'll never play!!including this!!!gary louris is as good a songwriter/artist/performer/guitar player as any of the greats!!thank god for the jayhawks!!! best band ever!!!

The video concept works well until the Indian stuff, then it loses me. Not sure what point they were trying to get across there. Still, a fantastic song.
I love the Jayhawks and love this song. The music video, I don't understand at all (Same goes for a lot of music videos.) I have my own images in my imagination . . .works SO much better!
@ZenBarracuda I think Matthew Sweet helped with the album's opener, "Stumblin Through the Dark", and had nothing to do with this song at all. Purely coincidentally, you happen to be 100% right anyway, b/c I saw them both in concert together and your coment is till true, so sorry to attack your comment when I agree with it, I'm the former Xclubkid22, the Misanthropic psycho that has to correct everything, it seems now even in comments that are correct...I think I need to seek help
@32Rainking Matthew Sweet recorded my favourite album (In Reverse) and The Jayhawks are one of my favourite bands. Don't worry about internal arguments. I'm pretty much conflicted over everything. At least we both know good music when we hear it.
@ZenBarracuda I've replied to, corrected, insulted, made aware of the idiocy of, berated, contradicted and even complimented literally 1,000+ youtube comments, you are the first one to beat me, as in respond with a better comment, ever. Guess it may be b/c we are both conflicted over everything & we both know good music, any well done.
I'm a new convert to the Jayhawks and I love this song. Also love Mary Louise Parker. No, not a great video, and the concept doesn't seem to match the song but its still sort of cute. I especially like MLP at the Senior center. Her performance as always is great, as is the band who are quickly becoming my favorite.
Curious that MLP considers this an 'horrendous video' (and feels no small amount of guilt as it was she who, as a fan of the band, recommended the director). I don't know that it is so much - at least it has a story arc and a degree of whimsical charm which seems consistent to the character portrayed in the song. Worse by far IMHO is the one she did with Charlie Mars rolling around in a clinch in his flat. The boy also looked as if he was being unfairly violated!
I just typed in Jayhaks and saw the older songs I love... " Im going to make you love me" Is such a great song. and "Smile" check em out come to PGH. Pa
The JayHawks have such a great sound. Its been a while . I really was into them years back. I wish they would play at moondogs in pittsburgh, Pa some time
dude i see ur a fan of the jayhawks i never really listend to them before but i like what i hear so far but i have a question whats that song called it goes like
I wanna see you, tomorrow the green grass
Oh my love, who stands by you, when I call
Once had a good home
Won't fall back on
Don't you think kindness has an end
ive searched everywhere dude and i cant find it
its off dat movie national lampoons senior trip
please man if uc an give me a link ur da bomb thanks dude
I got Gary Louris' autograph (the singer) outside the club in Nashville where I saw them shortly after the album was released. He's a nice guy, had some time so we talked about when he was gonna make it to Chattanooga where I lived and play. Not just another egomaniac by any means. C'mon guys, do another recording!
Nice song, very "Byrds" style.

What about the Jayhawks reunion?
Is it true, will they come to europe?
Saw them live without Mark Olson
O thought it was super, but my friend said that with Olson they even sounded better. Gary and Mark together but there I missed the rockier songs.
Love this song though in all simple beauty
