  • what BOV are you running?

  • @Supraturbobov

    Its an HKS SSQV

  • why do all the abusers have the black ones?

  • epic sound...

  • this guy has no idea how to drive....

  • Really? i dont see your driving videos Mr. perfect.

  • Schones auto!

  • that bov sounds sexy!

  • where did you get those whit blinker in the front? iv been looking everywhere i cant find em :(

  • ebay

  • did you jsut replace the rec'ation valve with the VTA? or did you move your maf?

i want to put a bov (VTA) on mine but i dont knwo if i want to spend the extra money to buy a gm mafs

  • I just replaced ist by putting in a custom "3000" Pipe from the front fender to the intake manifold. I mounted the HKS on there on closed the open holes from the stock BOV.

No need for another maf (mass air flow sensor?) if I got the right sense for the abbreviation "maf".

  • did you have to replace the 3000 pipe? why didnt you just put it where the old one was?

most guys move the maf (yes you have it right) to after the turbo because when the vta releases the air, it doesnt measure that air loss and it keeps dumping gas into the motor, causing it to run rich. that will make you stall or studder in between shifts. ever have a problem with this?

some cars dont need it. i was hoping mine doesnt, thats why i asked.

  • No need for an other MAF, if you hear closely to my video you can hear some pops out of the exhaust when I release the throttle or when I shift.

That`s what I got because of the "open" BOV (not recirculated), no worries for me - sounds nice ;-)

I haven`t to replace the 3000 pipe, it was just because I changed to a hardpipe-kit. You could mount the SSQV with a small pipe in the place after the plastic hose leaves the front fender or anywhere else you find place.

  • A simple replacement of the stock BOV isn`t possible because the HKS uses another fitment method (you need a flange, usually included in the BOV kit, which you weld on a pipe).

  • ok so really all i need is a bov installment kit in addition to my bov.

    thanks

  • Ok, if i get this 3000 hard-pipe kit, with the BOV that replaces the stock one, how do i plug the BOV thats on the Intake, since this replacement one is on the intercooler piping?

    i also have a 1988 Supra, making 320 rwhp

  • idk how to do tht but i just got my hands on a 88 supra shits fucking amazing i dont have as much rwhp yet cuz my shits stock but cant wait till i sup it up tho

  • Get a Cooleze intake pipe. Duuhhh no one wants that accordian hose.

  • hows gas mileage with that bov?? Cause i was thinking about get one.

  • As long as you have your right foot under control the mileage is as it was before :-)

The only reason why people have a lower mileage with a BOV is because they want to hear it (because it`s new and cool...) - that brings your right foot down (pedal to the metal).

So no worries about that, as long as you do everything else as before there is no chance in gas mileage.

  • "change" is the correct word, not chance.

  • thats all i wanted to know...I,ma get the same hks bov..or maybe Greddy..IDK

  • Car got a new build engine with JE forged pistons, Eagle H-Beams, SP61GT Turbo, Spearco Intercooler, metall cat, Greddy E-Manage Ultimate (currently a HKS VPC/F-Con is mounted), Apexi AVC-R, NGK AFX wideband and so on and on... too much parts to list here.

New seats will be also mounted soon - just getting started for next year :-)

  • shit that sounds awesome

  • exactly what kind of exhaust is that.. tanabe what?

  • Tanabe Super Hyper Racing Medallion should it be if I remember correct.

  • what kinda bov is that? ssqv?

  • HKS SSQV with gold insert(which sounds exactly the same like the silver one it came standard with).

  • i got the same car but i plan on putting on a full 3' exaust about how mutch power would you say id added im guessing around 35 for turbo back

  • If completely full 3" without cats you get somewhat about 50-70hp(!) more and 0,2-0,4bar of more boost without shimming or a boost controller - just with the catback. If you have to drive a cat (like we over here in Germany - the law wants it) get a full 3" metallic cat, won`t brake much.

  • thx for the info look forward to finding out as soon as it gets back from the shop new hks hg and arp head bolts

  • 87 tails FTW!

  • We never had the facelift/u.s./japan style tails over here in europe. So even a `93 MK3 has the old-school ones mounted.

  • sweet man. not a fan of the high pitched bov's myself but i love supras. i have a silver 87 thats done up about the same accept im running the test pipe (no cat) hks drager exhaust 2 and a quarter piping with 3" downpipe and a sheppdog bov from prof, has a low pitched kush sound that ocilates.

  • guess i know whick insert to get for mine.

  • wet parking lots are so much fun! wooo!

  • very nice sounding bov. i love the hks ssq. nice supra

  • Thanks.

Stock engine, stock Turbo, 3" Downpipe, stock Cat, Tanabe exhaust, hardpipe Kit with HKS SSQV BOV with Gold insert.

  • awesome supra. btw what bov is that?
