  • i love it

  • 42 have no taste.

  • was this song, as well as the others featured in Labyrinth, actually written for the film? or were they just pulled off albums?

  • @goo83 the songs were written by David Bowie for Labyrinth

  • and that's why we all love david/jareth. Cuz thy're one and the same, and they are GQBAMF!

  • oh my gosh memories.

it's only forever, not long at all ♥

  • I pretty much consider this to be the official prequel to Labyrinth.

  • 41 people were drunk when they watched this

  • @Daizzey80 Hahahah XD You should check out 'The Mask' from David Bowie - it's a mime preformance.. That pants is even worse! (I think it's body paint??!!)

  • I love David Bowie wonderful voice and he's probly the one of the sessiest men I have had the opportunity to watch in a movie

  • Must ask! Is David Bowie the first singer to do the whole one blue eye, other brown thing! I know I have seen Marilyn Manson do the same thing.

  • @nevermoregirl7 actually... david bowie's eyes are both blue. he was born with one large iris, and one small. so the one with the larger iris appears dark, while the other still is blue. hope that helps. :)

  • @nevermoregirl7

One of his eyes the pupil is permanently dilated from an accident when he was younger, its still blue it just looks really dark from the pupil being dilated. That is why it looks like that.

  • he had a accident when he was young and one eye has a constantly fully dilated pupil they are not different colour if it wasn't for that.

to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if he self inflicted it obsessed with all the one eye symbolism .

  • @topbluffa1 When he was in high school, David got in a fight with his ex-best friend over another girl, and his friend punched him in the eye...he had a ring on his finger. The pupil is f.ucked up now, and he says the sight is worse than before.

  • @topbluffa1 No, his college room mate punched him. It wasn't on purpose. LOL.

  • chido video esta super he visto la peli como 1 millon de vese

    I LOVE david bowie

  • What a little piece of 80's synth pop heaven. This song is timeless and just effortlessly exudes charm and enchantment.

    Two thumbs up for Bowie!

  • labyrinth woop woop

  • Thumbs up if you think this is the most upbeat song about Hell Aka the Underground.

a real Satanist this guy and a clever one to.

  • is it wrong to say that this is the fastest way to watch the labyrinth? or am i just hating the fact that his majesty the goblin king can dork around in his labyrinth? wtb a life -_-

  • i love this movie and this song!!!!!!

    xxx

  • i love that film labyrinth takes me back to my childhood, btw whos that at 2:59 MADONNA?

  • @TheSparkle7 lololol!

  • Bowie is so beautiful. His voice is music to my ears.

  • I LOVE DAVID BOWIE!!!!!

  • What a classic.

  • The video is like a prequel showing how he ended up there.

  • nice to see hoggle break dancing.

  • gotta love him. movie was great too

  • "don't tell me truth hurts little girl....cause it hurts like hell"

    i love that line

    <3

  • Oh god, I love him. So much. My babysitter would listen to him all the time when I was a kid and I fell so badly in love with his voice. <3

  • i cant help but Fav this! i love David Bowie!!!

  • what'd you go and do that for?

    i saved your life!!

    not that, you KISSED ME!!!

  • Caution! Hot Bowie!

  • Hoggle aka Materialism

    Goblin king - the devil.

  • HOGLE!

  • @Ethanride haha

  • i frickin love how david bowie sings man how i would love to have a voice lik his

  • This song sounds like he's singing about Hell. You know, in the verses, it's like he's playing the role of the tempter. But, in the chorus, he sounds like someone who's crying for help (as if he's asking for a saviour to help him out of this Hell). I mean, that's what I'm getting out of this song.

  • <3 i love this movie so much i got a tattoo quoting this song "it's only forever" no one gets it but it leaves me singing and quoting the movie the rest of the day !!

  • So what does everyone think this song is about??

  • @poolhalljunkie9 I think it's about Hell and wanting to escape from Hell.

  • @poolhalljunkie9 Labyrinth the movie with no subtext ;p

  • 1980 music vids dont make much sence but intresing

  • David Bowie was so awesome! Strange, yes, but awesome!

  • Too bad Jim Henson died. There hasn't been any incredible creations since. I loved the TV show Jim Henson Hour. Labyrinth was one of the best Fantasy movies ever made in my opinion. That and Dark Crystal and say, Dark City or perhaps The Matrix even though those are considered Sci-Fi.

  • should you need us!

  • I really like this song

  • I LOVE you David Bowie

  • @xmrshanleyx @rowidz I agree with you both, I enjoyed reading your interpretations and theories. :)

  • @stardustastronette Hehe...Thanks, from one Labyrinth fan to another. Glad you enjoyed our debates. I'd love to hear your interpretations or theories on Labyrinth, as well. Nice username, by the way.

  • @rowidz I can't help but sense that "Labyrinth" was a cinematic metaphor for the fabled 'Agharta/Shamballa' of ancient lore. Every ancient culture from around the world seemed to have their own version of a secret subterranean world filled with Fairies, Gnomes, Reptilians, and various other inter-dimensional life forms, not all of which were benevolent towards human beings, rather cunning and highly malevolent.

...The cinematic theme could also be coded speak for underground black op's bases

  • I'm not knocking the video, excellent vision, but it doesn't really connect with the movie. I mean Bowie plays Jareth, the Goblin King who controls the labyrinth and knows its puzzles inside and out. So why is David Bowie acting like he's lost in the labyrinth, like hes Sarah? Why not have Bowie turn into Jareth at the end or show Sarah lost in the Labyrinth?

  • @rowidz I think it's cuz secretly he is stuck in the labyrinth, and can't leave himself, that's why he steals kids etc. and doesn't want Sarah to leave and wants to rule her because she is free to leave, but he isn't. I don't know my interpretation from watching the movie 5000 times

  • @xmrshanleyx: Thats the theory, I believe, this video is leaning towards. Jareth is the only human inhabitant inside the Labyrinth world. It would only make sense that he somehow stumbled upon it (was either trapped there or fell in love with it) and then came to be very powerful and feared there. I would have loved to see a prequel out 20 years ago, depicting this. Interesting interpretation To me, Jareth is a manifestation of id. Sarah chooses to leave that behind.for realism and consequence

  • @rowidz I always saw alot of theological implications in the story as well, Jareth is kind of a symbol of the devil, in that he says if you follow him, he will give you the world, like Jesus on the mountain, when he says I will give you all this, if you fall down a worship me, but he has to ask because of our free will, we can refuse. Sarah saw that even with all the "things" she desired, it didn't compare to freedom and knowing what was truly important.

  • @xmrshanleyx Exactly. Each time I watch Labyrinth a new implication, whether accidental or on purpose, comes to mind. I wasn't able to elaborate any further, due to character constrictions, but Jareth represents a human's most impulsive desires, and offers them in a most deceitful, or sinful, manner. I appreciate the contrast between Jareth's two personas in the movie. On one side you have a charming, charismatic man. On the flip side you have an extremely impatient, cruel and whiny man-child.

  • @rowidz Yes, yet as an 8 yr old watching i immediately had a huge crush on David Bowie, I was really drawn to him, and when i expressed this to my Mother she nearly fainted, and was horrified at the thought, now being an adult and knowing more about who David Bowie was I completely understand her stance. I still love this movie and I watch the "making of" documentary, they don't even hint to the deeper issues of the Movie/story line, yet they are so profound, I don't think it was by accident

  • @xmrshanleyx BTW My husband says we are NERDS for even talking about this.....I just laughed!

  • @xmrshanleyx BTW My husband says we are NERDS for even talking about this.....I just laughed!

  • @xmrshanleyx Unfortunately, your husband is probably correct. We most likely ARE "nerds" for discussing/ having theological debates about Labyrinth. Much to my surprise, there are many more of us out there. If it weren't for Labyrinth fanatics or fellow art school students, (which are pretty much the same thing) I would have never been introduced to this movie.

  • @xmrshanleyx BINGO! Yes. You hit the nail on the head and sealed the coffin. Now that you mentioned, I totally agree with you.

  • who wrote this song? Bowie I assume, perhaps with a collaborator. I can imagine David Byrne doing a nice cover.

  • @tcookie

bowie wrote most of the songs for the movie, though he might have had help

  • Bowie kicks ass and always will

  • 'Nothing, nothing, tra-la-la?!'

  • hehe i love the labyrinth

  • Good god, Bowie is sexy.

  • 4:15 David Bowie strips off...all his physical matter.

  • "It's only forever... not long at all..."

  • god i love this song :D

  • i have never seen this music video before! They could of just put in clips and called it a day but they obviously didn't. I as an adult realize how deep this song is and I love David Bowie for his effort. If I made an animation it would probably be like that just a lot of rough sketches moving.

  • Only Bowie could make dancing around with a bunch of muppets look cool

  • i remember snorting so much cocaine back in the 80's while watching this music video...good times...good times...

  • Oh the irony of seeing an ad for my homework project while listening to one of my favorite songs....

  • He just has a way with words.

"How you turn my world you precious thing, you starve and near exhaust me"

  • kinda sounds like i just got rick rolled.. lol. same voice almost.

  • love it XDXD

  • They should used this tune in Omikron nomad soul , the gme were david bowie sings in it

  • "Don't tell me truth hurts little girl, cause it hurts like hell".... That line will stay with me forever. Aswell as "Its only forever, not long at all." .... He is soo amazing. I know I'm wayyyy to young, but tottaly crushing lmfao.

  • this is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!im your biggest fan david bowie

  • "It's only forever. It's not long at all!"

  • LoL I was gonna grow up and marry him <3

  • i love this song love and love all the chararters from the movie pop in and out hehe XD

  • Droooool...! =3

Did anyone see his pants in that movie? =^.^=

  • oh my god it was just there lol

  • Hahah =D

  • @rebeccaliebregts YES! lmao.....how could you NOT see???? Sweeeeet. haha

  • Hahaha yeah xD

  • I think we aaaaaall saw his pants =3

  • @rebeccaliebregts did anyone not see his pants?

  • @rebeccaliebregts he had pants on in that movie? jk

  • The movie version sounds better, but this is wonderful also. This song has had such a big part in my childhood ;) there's no way I can't love it

  • this is one of the most under rated bowie songs i think.

  • David bowie is probably the sexiest man from the 80's.

  • correction ...not "the 80's" but *time itself* :P

  • @Tehknirius i TOTALLY agree!!!!!!!!

  • @Tehknirius this man created the underground the underground is a place that when these childern you spit on as they try to change the world can be free where the outcast unite and can be themselfs with socity judgeing them rath a jock goth gay bisexual or voddo. and thats why i drool over him

  • @marshmellow311

And the 60's, 70's, 90's, and the 21st century XD

  • I can get the notes just by ear

  • OMGosh!!! That was totally awesome!! Thanks for posting this!! I absolutely love "Labyrinth"!!! Best movie ever!!!

  • Very, very, very nice.

  • OK. Why are there ads on top of my video? I didn't opt-in for that sh*t.

  • A small price to pay for video piracy.

  • that fucking sucks man...fuck google for meddling with youtube code.

  • @spacezombie Because EMI (and probably Bowie) as the copyright holder, opted into youtube's revenue share scheme ...

  • @crudio101 That makes sense. I'm not making a cent off these videos, BTW. I put them up because I'm a fan and I could. If Bowie or EMI takes them down, then that's fine with me. I'm not claiming it as original content at all.

  • COULD SOMEBODY TRANSLATE THIS WONDERFULL SONG INTO SPANISH!! please!! with lyrics!!

  • Love the song, love the film, thank you for posting :-)

  • O tempo bom.....

  • The late 80s were rubbish for music but this is really good.

  • He was sooo perfect as Jareth in the Labyrinth I love David Bowie!!! O,o *drools*

  • @Emptynobodies you know they was gonna use Micheal Jackson. Hmmm... how different that would be.

  • Seriously? omg... I dont think I'd loved the movie as much..... that would haunt me forever! lol

  • @Emptynobodies The Labyrinth Is The Best Movie Ever Invented

  • @Emptynobodies

_____Well, I can't exactly share in the drool, but what I'm saying probably won't be lost on you--you knowing the movie and all. It's like this video can be seen something like this... Jareth got pissed off from having to baby-sit all of those goblin-noobs and what-not. So he just took a screw-it attitude and decided to cut out into our universe. I'm guessing he brought some magic along to give him super magic-singing powers and what-not... Or is this just plain nuts?

  • "It's only forever, that's not long at all."

    The most epic quote ever.

How I wish I was born back before the hayday of GOOD music like this.

  • David Bowie is the sexiest man that has ever been or ever will be. Every single one of his songs is my favorite song!

*Its only forever, not long at all*

  • Love the way he says "underground" o,O

  • Listening to the lyrics makes me feel sad...I love this song

  • Greatest movie and soundtracks ever!!!

  • to put it simply it makes me dream like 20 years ago.

    Legend

    Go Jareth :-)

  • Love it since it came out... remember when it came out. it's like a dream and my kids watch it as well. deep down music with meaning ... luv it

  • Someone should tell Bowie he's much sexier in the Jareth ensemble, makeup, tights, glitter and all :D Because he is, in my opinion. Plus, this song (which is fabulous!) sounds better coming from Jareth's lips, in my mind. Strange, since they are sung by the same people.....oh well

  • I love that movie and all the songs

  • i have this movie i loved it when i was little so i went and got it on dvd and i still love it

  • "life can be easy, it's not always swell, don't tell me truth hurts, little girl, cause it hurts like hell"

    Love that shit, man! :-D

  • ...and then the goblins showed up. :)

  • Epic

  • I agree with you azkeys. He does seem to understand a lot more. And yes, remocleo it is sad. I read somewhere that he has dizzy spells sometimes because of it. I can't remember where I read it though. I wish I could.

  • He's only color blind in the eye that was damaged in the fight with his friend as a teenager. He sees color out of the other eye.

  • thats sad

  • Probably rated as one of the best tracks of all time in this particular genra.

    The bass line awsome

The lyrics so chilling for those who understand them fully.

It's as if david understands a hell of alot more than he shows the world.
