  • one of my favorite songs./ love the words the melody and the fantastic guitar by george./ .my favorite. Band ever..thanks for the Post some of the greatest Images of the Beatles in here.. Wonderful thnks.. i dont think i shall ever grow tired of the Beatles or out grow them.. For they are TIMELESS>> Beatles Girl Forever...

  • Every time I hear one of their songs it makes me shiver. God, they're amazing.

    *-*

  • Here's a bit of odd trivia. This song is from the White Album which Charles Manson later said the Beatles wrote to send messages to him. There are a lot of odd coincedences between songs/lyrics on the album and events that followed. (Piggies, Sexy Sadie, etc) In this case the night of the Sharon Tate murders her dog happened to be in the house when the killers arrived. The dogs name was Prudence.

  • if anyone dislikes The Beatles there is something wrong with them <3 xx

  • wow man great pics ive never seen most of them

  • one of my favs

  • Beatles are forever like diamonds!

  • man i just feel sorry for those 28 who disliked this, i wouldn't switch taste with you if it came with a billion dollars

  • DAT BASELINE!!!!!

  • Does 0:50 look like a jackasx pic or what

  • Cool kimmysue, I am just 46years old and discovering more of Donovan

his songs are beautiful and from my childhood.

I believe Donovan to was friends to Prudence?

  • I studied Sanskrit with my colleague Prudence Farrow-Bruns, at U.C. Berkeley, in the late 90's. She is the sister of actress Mia Farrow, and the subject of this song. She is still a good friend of mine. Prudence told me that Lennon's concern that she was withdrawing into herself too much was unfounded. She was enjoying her meditation so much that she did not care to spend time with the Beatles! Now that is what I call dedication and real spiritual experience. But she does like the Beatles.

  • My granddaughter is named after this song. Beautiful Prudence!!!

  • First song I listened to in 2012, perfect way to greet the new year :) Followed by lots more Beatles music of course.

  • Fucking amazing. : )

  • I hope that man is sent to prison for the rest of his life. R.I.P Prudence Hockley, WHS english teacher

  • Nice photo collection! The song has always been a favorite. Nice work!

  • being high as as shit and playing this on rockband is such a great, great feeling

  • @venomchris well, if that's the best you can do..........

  • @patscentral Rockband is like karaoke with karaoke style instruments because I can't play a guitar, and if you can thats great, but I can guarantee i'm a better singer than you. If you'd like to post a video of yourself singing i'd be happy to prove it with a reply video.

  • 27 people won't come out to play.

  • the 27 dislikes got an arrow to the knee

  • Sometimes, there are no words; there are only those feelings, ... that go beyond touch.

Tonight, those feelings are all about you, ... because tonight, in my life, I truly feel thy touch.

  • ive loved the beatles since i first heard them back in 1963...and i still to and im 57

  • I Agree!!

  • The bass is just awesome... very chill. (1:05)

  • Simply exquisite. Thank you.

  • If a band that has been dissolved for more than forty years and people still flock to listen their genius; they must have done something right.

  • You know what I hate? People saying that they hate the Beatles or they say "the Beatles Suck".

Then I would Ask them "Why?"

And they would say "Because they're old." And i look into their eyes and ask "is that the only reason why you hate them?" and they would say "yes". I would ask "have you even listened to any of their songs?", they would say "no". I would say "then you have no reason to hate them you fucking dumbasses"

    I hate people like that.

  • @luckyday465768 i know everyone at my school is like that. lucky for me i have had an upbringing in music like

    the Beatles and Bob Dylan.

  • @luckyday465768 hahahahaha...u stupid embecile...those people hating the beatles are stones fans idiot

  • @caballito099 not all of them

  • Good job ruining the video by putting credits in. You should have ran them near the end of the song.

  • Thumbs up if you also hear the USSR planes at the begining of this amazing song!

  • @bourakki Back in the USSR actually merges to this song.

  • A meditation on love or just universal consciousness ... the fact that you and I are infinite...we come from nothing then return to nothing , but are part of a vast ordering principle. I doubt John would have characterized this song with such pretense, but it always gave me that feeling...and the feeling part is where you learn. And maybe with great songs like this you find some kind of lasting peace...

  • Beatles dont rock the 60s they rock the WORLD!!!!!

  • @MarioMario6298 agreed me friend. lol i just played this song and sounded like john singing and john guitaring. i was so happy cos he's most likey me incarnation <3 to me that means he's helping me get songs and be great like him!

  • The word tells you. That if you fall I will catch you. BUT if by CHANCE you hit the ground I will be there to pick you up and dust you off. Jesus tells you that to save your life is to lose it. and to lose your life is to SAVE IT. AND YET YOU WOKE UP ANY WAY. You should use wisdom in every thing you do. There is no wisdom in blind faith. Because blind faith is not a witness. wisdom will always demand proof.

  • This is a masterpiece not listened to enough.

  • dear prudence i love you ; look around sky blue conchasumadre qe tal song

  • If John says to come out and play, you should really get out there.

  • @beckslove33 perfect! i agree!! ;)

  • I was named after this song <3

  • @MissIntriguer99 seriously!! thats awesome!!!

  • I just read yesterday that Ringo was "awol" (according to Rolling Stone) when this song was recorded, Paul playing drums. Whatever the case, I think this is one of their best songs. Light years ahead of its time.

  • beautifiul song...

  • love le bass on this...heard a rumor that Ringo played Bass on this one!

  • @kilgoretrout321 ringo was taking a break at the time, paul did bass and drums.

  • @PAVI259 yeah, and I'm pretty sure Ringo couldn't play Bass either. I was trolling on the fact that everyone is commenting on Paul's drumming on this....

But if you are trolling my troll, you are truly a winner, sir, and I applaud you.

  • @kilgoretrout321 lmao u caught on t my trollness that fast? i think it should be I that applauds YOU.

  • @PAVI259 Lol this is always how it should go.

  • am i the only one who thinks john looks like wolverine at 1:08

  • Paul did really good on those drums. Did he play bass on this too? Because I freaking love the bass line.

  • Spectacular . . as always.

  • paul plays the drums on this song.notice the riffs, ringo never did that.

  • @coltspop Yeah you're right, Paul did the drums on this and did it well. I remember watching an old video of a reporter asking John if Ringo was the best drummer in the world. John looked at him quizzically and replied "Best drummer in the world? He's not even the best drummer in The Beatles". LOL, he pulled it off without sounding mean and had that Lennon smirk on his face.

Ringo was an inseperable part of The Beatles, Ringo you rock!

  • @jezsayn Very true. Ringo was the final crucial ingredient in histories most delicious recipe

  • everytime i hear this song i smile. no matter what situation im in. i always smile.

thank you john lennon, paul mccartney, george harrison, and ringo starr. you guys are amazing.

  • Great guitar by G Harrison!

  • Paul

  • @leozerker1 John is singing this you can tell this because he has a stronger accent livupudlian accent than paul.

  • I feel like I was the snake and they were the charmers. Seriously.

  • @stellalpinasonohra27 right when i read ur comment i noticed i was rocking back and forth :)

  • Think this song is very underrated.

  • this song was written for Mia Farrow's sister,Prudence.....

  • My names Prudence! <3

  • when black bird came on i jumped

  • Lennon all the way, he defined what rock n roll was...

  • Who I like best? McCartney was the best composer, Lennon the best writer. That's why the Beatles were so fuckin' great, they were competing to be the best all the time between themselves. Musically speaking, I'd go with Paul.

  • Great bass

  • @marcosviv McCartney or Lennon?

  • Great song.

  • 25 hate their lifes and are gay and don´t like this beautiful song and are gay and dont know anything of music and like regeatonto.

  • @GeorgeDelPortillo disliking aa song doesnt mean your gay mate...

  • 2:19 Paul is playing upside down...re-dick

  • "The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful and so are you''

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beatles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh john i wish i was alive wile u were im 13 i love the beatles and im proud!!!!!!!!

  • I always thought this was the most underrated Beatles song. Hey Bulldog, I Want to Tell You, She's a Woman, I've Just Seen a Face, etc. are all very underrated, but this is easily in my top 20 favorite Beatles songs, and I think it's the 2nd best song on the White Album, second only to WMGGW.

  • If you haven't seen the movie "Across the universe" you should, it's a great story and they re-do a bunch of their great songs, including this one.

  • @AngieCee1 redo, but EXCELLENTLY :D

  • all we have now on TV are that Kpop crap and Bieber songs..

  • melancholy...die.

  • @MelancholyApples There speaks a person whose knowledge of music could be written on the back of a postage stamp.

  • @MelancholyApples why are you listening then?and you ombviously know NOTHING about music.

  • that was so beautiful !! the more i listen to old songs ,,, the more i think that music was so much better back then. everything seemed so magical !!! think my favorite Beatles were John and George, but they're gone, very sad :(

  • Of course, The Beatles original is superb! But I also like Siouxsie and the Banshees cover version of Dear Prudence just as much.

  • @richwicz lol,i swear you,ve posted this comment or something simalar before?

  • @MrMGD92 I think you're probably right. :-)

  • @richwicz Siouxsie and the Banshees did quite a few covers of the Beatles...Dear Prudence was a pretty good one too and quite a big hit for them. (siouxsie is my all time fave band).

  • there are awesome

  • @Beatlesrockthe60s-nice touch with blackbird at the end.it really suites it.

  • If John asks you to come out to play, YOU COME OUT TO PLAY

  • @SirBarzdevics I dont know. I dont like Zombies, even if their John Lennon.

  • Funny... I heard Brad Mehldau's version before I ever heard this one! =P

Gives me a reason to actually like the Beatles! =P

    Lets help John lennon

  • uaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayeahhh!!!!!

  • Indeed its public knowledge that the song was about Mia Farrows sister Prudence. What makes the song more touching is this song wasnt about her, but for her. Their dear friend...

  • Paul was the best drummer in the band.

  • @ZoojerZ What ? paul was bass lol

  • @snake5807 Paul was the bass but Ringo went AWOL and Paul played the drums on this and then recorded the bass track the next day.

  • this is a good song to wake up to

  • The story behind this song is almost as good as the song itself... look into it. ;)

The Beatles will always be one of my favorite bands, and one of the TRUE supergroups.

  • @kree1964 Yes the story is from the period in their lives when they, and many others where completely taken in and conned as they later admitted by the Maharishi mahesh. A very beautifull song indeed.

  • @thra5herxb12s yes, thats "when" the story took place, but its not what the song is about. Prudence is a real person, who perhaps was "taken in and conned" more than the rest, and pretty much wouldnt come out of her room to socialize or do ANYTHING with anyone, choosing instead to meditate by herself. Prudence is Mia Farrow's sister.

  • Comment removed

  • @thra5herxb12s it's actually for Prudence Farrow, Mia's sister who went to india with her.

  • @kree1964 i read the book

  • Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play?

  • one of lennon's best

  • putamerda eh demais

  • Listen also to the Siouxsie and the Banshees track.

  • @ronaldvanderkleij

    Yeah! that version ROCKS!!!!!!!

  • 25 constipated people thought this was "Dear Prune dance".

  • TYVM!

  • A masterpiece song, what else can be said...

  • @MtnDewChoads i know yer 14 just like EVERY other person listening to this what is that some kind of magic fucking number.....so stupid who gives a fuck how old you are and why would you even say how old you are its just irrelevant....completely its doesnt make you cool because yer listening to this

  • ((°L°))

  • @MtnDewChoads *1960-1970

  • Yay The greatest most successful band of the 1960's hooray 4 the Beatles

  • wtf is with blackbird at the end of the song? lol

  • Still one of my most favourite songs ever, and possibly my favourite bassline ever.

I mean the song is great in itself, and Paul just completes it by playing the bassline so harmonically - no one could play it as good as him, he is quite underrated as a bassist imo.

  • The introduction with the acoustic guitar is magic.

  • i wish music was still like this today

  • @Boddo1221 it will never go away

  • @BlinkxD27 yer ur right

  • @Boddo1221 It is if you never listen to modern music...lol.

  • The White Album was definitely special for me. Brings back memories. Beatles rule. They were only men but God touched them somehow and gave them their musical gifts. They were done essentially in 1969 and we still adore them and talk about them......2011.

  • The White Album was definitely special for me. Brings back memories. Beatles rule. They were only men but God touched them somehow and them their musical gift.

  • Great song.

  • WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE SO FUCKING SEXY...

  • HELLO BEATLES LOVERS.......grettings from tasmania. did you realise that the foo fighters latest album is based around what i have discovered? dont believe me? go to john paul young "yesterdays hero" and press see all to find my 3 comments and find out why. i am not lying honest. regards.

  • @figbat1 Tasmania.....are you the devil ?

And you speak english so well =)

  • @SinahiLucaz I think its healthy having a bit of a barney about your tastes on YouTube. It helps you secure what you really feel about life. While some people do get a bit unnecessarily aggressive, generally people just filter it out and pity them for being knobs. I think the Beatles would appreciate that their music and comments and life styles still fascinate people enough to warrant passionate responses. After all, they were hardly saints themselves.

  • 25 people haven't gone out to play...
