Here's a bit of odd trivia. This song is from the White Album which Charles Manson later said the Beatles wrote to send messages to him. There are a lot of odd coincedences between songs/lyrics on the album and events that followed. (Piggies, Sexy Sadie, etc) In this case the night of the Sharon Tate murders her dog happened to be in the house when the killers arrived. The dogs name was Prudence.
I studied Sanskrit with my colleague Prudence Farrow-Bruns, at U.C. Berkeley, in the late 90's. She is the sister of actress Mia Farrow, and the subject of this song. She is still a good friend of mine. Prudence told me that Lennon's concern that she was withdrawing into herself too much was unfounded. She was enjoying her meditation so much that she did not care to spend time with the Beatles! Now that is what I call dedication and real spiritual experience. But she does like the Beatles.
@patscentral Rockband is like karaoke with karaoke style instruments because I can't play a guitar, and if you can thats great, but I can guarantee i'm a better singer than you. If you'd like to post a video of yourself singing i'd be happy to prove it with a reply video.

You know what I hate? People saying that they hate the Beatles or they say "the Beatles Suck".
Then I would Ask them "Why?"
And they would say "Because they're old." And i look into their eyes and ask "is that the only reason why you hate them?" and they would say "yes". I would ask "have you even listened to any of their songs?", they would say "no". I would say "then you have no reason to hate them you fucking dumbasses"
A meditation on love or just universal consciousness ... the fact that you and I are infinite...we come from nothing then return to nothing , but are part of a vast ordering principle. I doubt John would have characterized this song with such pretense, but it always gave me that feeling...and the feeling part is where you learn. And maybe with great songs like this you find some kind of lasting peace...
@MarioMario6298 agreed me friend. lol i just played this song and sounded like john singing and john guitaring. i was so happy cos he's most likey me incarnation <3 to me that means he's helping me get songs and be great like him!
The word tells you. That if you fall I will catch you. BUT if by CHANCE you hit the ground I will be there to pick you up and dust you off. Jesus tells you that to save your life is to lose it. and to lose your life is to SAVE IT. AND YET YOU WOKE UP ANY WAY. You should use wisdom in every thing you do. There is no wisdom in blind faith. Because blind faith is not a witness. wisdom will always demand proof.
I just read yesterday that Ringo was "awol" (according to Rolling Stone) when this song was recorded, Paul playing drums. Whatever the case, I think this is one of their best songs. Light years ahead of its time.

@PAVI259 yeah, and I'm pretty sure Ringo couldn't play Bass either. I was trolling on the fact that everyone is commenting on Paul's drumming on this....
But if you are trolling my troll, you are truly a winner, sir, and I applaud you.
@coltspop Yeah you're right, Paul did the drums on this and did it well. I remember watching an old video of a reporter asking John if Ringo was the best drummer in the world. John looked at him quizzically and replied "Best drummer in the world? He's not even the best drummer in The Beatles". LOL, he pulled it off without sounding mean and had that Lennon smirk on his face.
Ringo was an inseperable part of The Beatles, Ringo you rock!
Who I like best? McCartney was the best composer, Lennon the best writer. That's why the Beatles were so fuckin' great, they were competing to be the best all the time between themselves. Musically speaking, I'd go with Paul.

@SinahiLucaz I think its healthy having a bit of a barney about your tastes on YouTube. It helps you secure what you really feel about life. While some people do get a bit unnecessarily aggressive, generally people just filter it out and pity them for being knobs. I think the Beatles would appreciate that their music and comments and life styles still fascinate people enough to warrant passionate responses. After all, they were hardly saints themselves.

The White Album was definitely special for me. Brings back memories. Beatles rule. They were only men but God touched them somehow and gave them their musical gifts. They were done essentially in 1969 and we still adore them and talk about them......2011.
