95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to t least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK AND ROLL
Real fans don't come to see how tight they would play, but instead just to see them them perform, cause for real die hard fans they are heroes. Not difficult to understand.
Is it me, or is the guitar differently tuned in this version? I wanted to play allong, but the standard tuning, which does fit with the studio version, was one note of at this performance -,-'
they often play standard tuned songs with different tunings. Sanitarium, Blackened and many more are standard on the record, but tuned 1 step down live.
Why after all these years does Lars continue to make a mess of all his drumming. Steps all over vocals, guitars, and anything else that comes his way. Fucking painful to listen to. He needs to take some lessons from Phil Rudd!
i remember like it was 2hours ago i was third gray and i was switching channels on tv i turned some tv station and it was metallica in serbia 2004 year. it was so powerful man but to much for me in that age i said to my self "i will never listen this" and five years later Metallica is my favorite band. it is fanny u know :)
you people need to realize that playing live is a once and done thing you have good shows you have bad shows. Lars and most other musicians of his cliber and better realize that they are not going to nail a part everytime. look and chris adlers interviews with moder n drummer if you want a current example of this. drums are just a lot of fun to play sn realizing that makes the fuck ups easier to take. so dont give him shit about messing up one time
agreed, plus a drum fuckup is a lot more noticeable than a guitar fuckup. lars plays & has always played what the song NEEDS. you dont have to play a 7 minute drumfill with 250bpm double bass all the damn time like too many younger drummers think you must!
I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!! I do understand if maybe the timing is little off, but the fact that he immediately fixed it made up for it. I honestly dont see how they continue to do the exact same lead in the guitar solos, i (as a guitarist) find it hard to do the same lead every time i play a song, because i want the people to feel what im feeling, and in order to do that i have to change my lead, based on how i feel.
you guys need to remember that this sonfg was written back in 1988..they were much younger and full of energy..james voice has changed do to the stree of singing the way he use too..but their still amazing musicians and deserve the upmost respect for the hardships they each have endured for the past 27 years
hmmmm i just want to say, if u want to come here just to flame i suggest u use ur time for better things cuz essentialy flaming is pointless, u waste time writing crap that causes negativity. so yah just wanna throw that out ther for flamers. :P
Don't back up lars. I'm a big fan of Metallica but geez he can't play that double bass part for shit. Hell, even in 1989 he couldn't play it. Check the live version of One live in seatle 1989. It way slower then the studio recording.
and most of those have influenced lars like paice and copeland and ginger and peart remember there were from before the era of metallica so yeah they are better and im sure lars is aware of that
apparently you havent seen enough metallica show's... how they most of the time run off stage when they are done... and play songs too fast or they lame ass metallica medley where they play alot of good songs so they dont have to play them.... i'm a huge metallica fan so dont think i'm here to flame them... but they do rush off stage.... and they do play stuff fast as they can and get out... unless it's a big televised event where they must stick it out and put on a show....
i dont think its just that it can be an adrenaline b'coz i play live gigs all the time with my band and we have covered some of metallica's stuff and we can sometimes play stuff to fast too
Its literally sad to see lars' face under that light... literally... its sad to see a picture of him when he was 20 and then 45... its sad to see how anyone ages like that...
since 1999 they play all normally standard tuned songs in Eb cause hetfield cant sing as high as he could with 25 years^^

i think its his age. He used to be a very powerfull drummer but now he's getting older he has trouble playing the fast songs.
